on a serious note if youre wondering why the 7 outfits look less "high quality" (mostly the console release cast, so not counting dlc since those were modeled afterwards) its because theyre outright ported from tekken 7. theres no remodelling or texturing iirc. namco just didnt ask you for extra money unlike their competitors this time lool
Hopefully the classic iconic defaults and alts will make a return with a quality similar to Tekken 8 new defaults. Disappointed with T7 default outfits being just ports from the previous game
Honestly didn't notice it until I saw your comment and the geometry does seem somewhat not as good as the new outfits. I will say though they look far better than they did in Tekken 7 and I feel that's because they redid the textures, shaders and materials for them at least (ex. Kazuya's T7 coat), as well as the improved clothing physics and the new lighting helping with that so it's not something I'll lose sleep over
@@polar6066 Figured as much. Seems like UE5 helped Bamco a lot, alongside them being more familiar with UE (as well as having more budget) since it seemed like back in T7, they were still figuring out how to work with Unreal Engine as a whole
I wish the legacy outfit will be available for all the characters I miss sleeveless Hwoarang, Lars's red armor, Asuka blue fighting suit, Feng without gloves, Nina purple bodysuit...
It's annoying cause it felt like T8's story was teasing the fans when they were talking about the Kazama family tree right in front of Asuka lol@@doctoroflolo
I hate how Hwoarang and Nina don't have their actual Tekken 7 hairstyles. Also... it's crazy when you realize that their Tekken 5-Tag 2 outfits are gone. Except for Paul's red gi and Laws dragon pants (if you recolor them) Edit: King's Wrestling attire because it was a recolor with a cape.
Have you thought of comparing T8 with older games in order? I dont know how interesting that would be but just started wondering... like T8 fixed on one side and T1-6 switching on the other side. (T1 to 6 because you already covered Tag2, 7 and 8)
Out of the improve graphics of 3 entries of tekken 6, 7, 8. Tekken 7 outfits is the edgiest of them all so many spikes and chains and many more outrageous(i know tekken is already weird but like cmon atleast they make up for it in tekken 8)

I gotta say, the only way you can tell these are recycled T7 models is when the camera goes up close and you see the worse geometry and textures, from afar the unreal 5 lighting really breathes new life into them
Some characters have really stupid outfits in this new game. Others improved or have really stylish outfits. It´s not fair. Stupid: Asukas Sweater with Tie, Jack 8, Lees Combatsuit (doesn´t fit his personality), Jack 8, Feng (carries heavy useless ornaments) Stylish: Alisa, Ling Xiaoyu, Zafina, Law, Leroy Smith, Lilli I wish they redo some of iconic Tekken 4/5/6 outfits. Would like to see the old classics in new light.
7:01 honestly I really wish we can remove the cape from the Tekken 7 outfit for King. For some reason we can’t. 10:16 also that’s the wrong skin for Tekken 7 Kuma.
This is a prime example as to why Nina's default outfit in Tekken 7 being a damn wedding dress was a weird fucking idea lmao. It just looks so silly without context. They should've really just gone for her purple bodysuit.
People keep praising them from bringing back the Tekken 7 costumes, but do you realize what little effort that requires? It's seems people are naive to how this development team really cuts corners.
