This is literally the best version of these 2 characters I can say that firmly now. Then did amazing job all around. Design, fighting styles, everything perfect
Hwoarang: still want some of this? Jin: OKAY! DAMN! once i've dealt with my dad, we'll an friggin endless rival match till we pass out! is that what you really want?!
I know right? I feel kind bad cause here I was saying that Kazuya was dumb for being able to do 7 godfists in one combo as a Jin main, meanwhile Kazuya gets nerfed into the ground and Jin has this B3 loop. I hate combos that just repeat the same move over and over, I think they shouldn’t exist tbh. Dash 1 or 2 jabs for example feel so dumb and boring, you can do like 3 or 4 of them yet still finish a full combo for certain characters. I’m fine if you repeat the same string twice like with Jin’s double B3 string, that stuffs fine, but when you repeat it 3 or more times then it becomes kinda dumb in my opinion, things become too easy and boring.
Also Jin’s double B3 string feels kinda different in T7 since it required you to get a screw attack within 3 hits in order to execute it. It makes it so there is a bit of a trade off for being able to do the double B3 string. In T8 though it seems a lot easier, I’m waiting for Jin to be nerfed pretty hard like Kazuya. I think characters are becoming too big and flashy for the games own good. It makes it so either the characters are stupid overpowered and makes the game frustrating as hell, or they are balanced but feel under powered due to how big and flashy their attacks are. I just hope they do something with Jin’s D2, it completely defeats the purpose of Jin’s Hellsweep, there is no reason to use it over D2.
God I thought they'd gotten rid of the goofy lame ass air juggles. You get hit once then juggled to death without a chance to retaliate. I miss the old Tekkens that played out like great martial arts movies. Oh well this series went from 3D to 2.1D
@@sighyawn6378 i mean, I think of the dive kick as the biggest reason because of it’s great advantage on block. It’s like the safest move you can use when you commit to zen. Nerfing it might make zen not worth committing when using f4.
@@wantu7816 zen is like a completely different stance now so changing the cancel input is hardly a good nerf. i would honestly prefer zen not be so strong in this way because it makes him feel less like jin and more like leroy.
@@somethingsomething9006 more just wishing to inform here than make any kind of point or statement. after reading the above comment I did some analysis and this is what I came out with: d2 is a barely reactable 22 frame tracking low counter hit launcher that crushes highs and hits grounded for easy oki, and is only -14 on block, making it fairly tough to launch punish (more importantly it doesn't look super punishable, so not all opponents will even try to). basically it's a snake edge but better in every conceivable way. this move alone gets most of the damage done this first round ff2 is still a fast safe mid knockdown tool with excellent range but now also launches with heat. this is the other big damage launcher from this round B&B combos now consist mostly of b3f1 loops with the occasional heat smash or backflip bound thrown in. there's room for creativity but it's much easier to just autopilot now also on display in this round even though they don't all necessarily land are a still safe ff3 now with better range, a safe f4 that now gets an easy launch for full combo without ZEN, a nerfed but still viable parry, and the new ZEN 4 which is a plus on block ground hitting pressure tool that knocks down on hit. all of these are quite linear but with the constant threat of d2, Jin is arguably harder to step than he's ever been it all adds up to a pretty simple gameplan that doesn't really require electric, hellsweep, wavedash or even ZEN to any overwhelming extent. of course as the match goes on Devilster does open up a wider range of techniques, but it is certainly striking how little you really need in order to play Jin to a reasonable level of effectiveness now, even if the skill ceiling does remain high with him
