Started playing Tekken 1 when I was a kid. Xiaoyu was my main in Tekken 3. Tekken 4 was what we played after my high school graduation. I lost a friend back then and my memory of him was playing Tekken Tag. Have had breakups and heartaches and would hit the arcade to play Tekken to just let it out. Tekken 6 was out when I got my first job... Now I will be teaching my son how to play Xiaoyu when Tekken 8 comes out. Love this game

Has no one noticed she now adapted some of Wang Jinrei techniques?? She only used Bagua style before but now has elements of Kung Fu! Her style now is more mature, stable, and solid unlike before where she's like a little girl with a more soft, flamboyant style. She's also donning a jacket which might signify her as a boss now. I think she just inherited her grandfather's dojo. She matured and grew up! Im crying 🤧
I think that's cool, but the last think I need is for her to get more stable and solid. I like dancing around my opponent with her. The whole reason I pick her is because she's like a leaf on the wind.
@@DietDrBass granddaughter (most likely great granddaughter because wang jinrei is jinpachi's generation). Probably in her younger years she was tutored by jinrei, but she enrolled in mishima zaibatsu in high school under Heihachi jurisdiction.
For everyone who says why she don’t speak Chinese, she lives in Japan since she was young (T3 she was 16 but how old she was when she got adopted by Heihachi is unknown) so it’s normal to speak Japanese instead of Chinese + her VA is Maaya Sakamoto which is a very popular seiyuu and singer
@@zaxele Maaya is an amazing Seiyuu btw, each role she takes her voice sound differently and fits the role very well so recognizing her voice looks a little bit hard
And before Maaya there was Yumi Toma, but I must say that Maaya did a good job giving Xiaoyu a maturer voice. With Yumi, she sounded like a little girl, while Xiaoyu is now a young adult.

Out of nowhere lol One of those characters I genuinely hate to play against but really appreciate their existence in and outside of gameplay, especially if you are one of those who grew up with the franchise
Lenne Hardt is an amazing voice actress and does a stunning job announcing each and every fighter. She does announcement work at real-world Japanese MMA events so she’s definitely got the natural talent.
Ba-BANG! Ba-BANG! Ba-BANG! Ba-BANG! Ba-Ba-Ba-BANG! ZEEEENKAIZER!!! Only got to appreciate her as a voice coz of the Zenkaiger, and damn what a hype-raising voice!
I actually love the detail that she's fighting King and Nina which are the two opponents she fought on the Tekken bloodline anime which was a cool nod and also because King and Xioa also fought at a forest
They really did a fantastic job with Xiaoyu, her moves look so natural and she looks much more mature... but let's hope that her storyline in this chapter won't disappoint us... it would be great to see her cooperating with Jun!
I know it's small but I love how all the characters have a phrase/title to describe them. Ling being Dancing phoenix. It's subtle but shows they really care and thought about what each character represents. Plus that announcer saying Ling's name gave me life. LIIING XIO Yoooow!! 😂
@@mainao3443 yeah Lightning of Fate sounds ...meh. I probably would dub him, Child of prophecy, Fist of the New Generation, Crossroads Of Fate, Angel of Anarchy, Prodigal Son, Rejected Birthright, Son of Destiny, The Power of Paradox, the Redemptive Renegade, that Flame of Fate, Fist of Fate, Author of Anarchy, the Beast Within, conflicted chaos, the fight of the Damned, Divine Darkness. Raging Rebel, Child of Destiny, Fists of Legacy , Fist of the Divine right or Power of Divine right or something like it. I know they aren't all good but I think most fit.
@@StreamHypeBoyByNewJeans I didn't say anything about character design. I said the phrase/titles they give the character was a great touch, even though it may seem small compared to everything else.
It's commendable, especially for a japanese franchise, that they age their characters continouosly with every new game. Kazuya looks older now than Heihachi in Tekken 2.
YESS!!! I'm an Asuka main, but after playing Tekken 6 with my significant other and using Xiaoyu, I might aim on maining her! Xiaoyu will always be my favorite, no matter who I use XD
That super of hers is so cool. I hope they give Xiaoyu and Jin some character specific dialogue kinda like the intros in Injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat 11/12.
Ling has matured! She began as a prodigy as a child and has developed into an acrobatic dancing phoenix with no upper limits in the right hands. Bravo Harada and Namco!
She was always acrobatic and limber, so I don't really know what this comment even means. No upper limits? ...What? Just talk like a normal person rather than a billboard advertisement 😂
Well this was unexpected, wasn't sure we would get another character trailer so soon let alone it be Xiaoyu but I'm not complaining, She looks amazing. Also kinda ironic that her trailer has her pitting up against the 2 people she fought from the Tekken anime series lol.
By the way, I found a YT stunt woman who makes videos imitating the movesets of several female game characters. Her name is Sofia Stunts and she has a Ling Xiaoyu coreography video.
LOVING how they're mixing up these random release dates, especially now showing characters we did NOT officially know were coming. Kudos to Bandai Namco.
It's my baby girl!! I love Xiao so much, and right after seeing the Jun trailier my girls back to back like this makes my heart so happy I can't wait for this game!!
love the bloodline reference with her against king in the forest. and im so glad we are getting these trailers at this rate, hope to see characters like bryan and drag soon.
OMHG, every time, Xiaoyu is always super awesome and cute everytime and her fighting style is completely so badass and cool to watch!!!! Literally a huge fangirl of Xiaoyu since day 1 of the Tekken series and I'm so happy and excited to see her again!!! I do love and adore her storylines in each game, and I do hope she gets to be involve in the main storyline to help Jin on saving the world!!!! Can't wait to play her too!!!!
Is it just me or is ling’s final blow in the rage art similar to jun’s light ability? What if jun has taught ling her light properties to suppress jin’s devil form in the future if it happens to go rogue 😯
It's funny because this is the one criticism I've had of the game so far. I think the hits sound too cartoony. There's too much impact in the hits, which is a problem I've never had with a fighting game before. I wouldn't mind if the toned it down just a little bit.
I low-key love they references tekken bloodline by having her fight Nina and King in the trailer. She looks epic!! Her design is giving me a mix of her T5 & 7 looks with a mix of Wang’s T5 top, which considering she’s his successor now doesn’t surprise me to see her using his moves, she’s got his infamous Waning Moon throw now.
It's too bad that Waning Moon seems to be from her RDS f,f+2+4 move. It'll be nice in low level gameplay and for style points, but unless there's another way to execute it or some major changeup option, it won't see much use. Still, I'm happy that it's there as a nod to her master, and at least it changes RDS f,f+2+4 from a terrible, high risk, low reward move into a terrible, high risk, medium reward move 😅
YESSSSSSSSSSS! Been waiting for this video to drop since the first 5-6 came out, and it didn't disappoint one bit! REALLY excited to pick my main back up and learn her new mixups! I especially love the front flip that ends in Phoenix!!
Xiaoyu and Chun Li both mirror each other, both have Wang Jinrei and Gen as the old sensei, both have Jin and Ryu as the potential love interest who are also seen as the games protagonists.
Wow, Xiayou looks absolutely STUNNING here!! Her moves are so fluid and elegant, and her rage art is SO much better now!!! The Tekken team really stepped their game up!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I swear I wouldn't be surprised if they put Bryan as DLC.. If I see a Bryan trailer go live I'll make a nice dinner and buy a good wine before watching it.
Probably won't be the case, but Bryan returning with his original deep voice would be really nice. I never really warmed up to the newer games' direction.
Xiaoyu has always been one of my favorites in the series for how elegant her moves are. I love her design here and the work going into these stages definitely shouldn't be overlooked. This is going to be a gorgeous looking game. :)
Only reason why I like Ling is she reminds me of my favorite female characters with a mix of Chun li and Sakura. But aside from that I didn't took her seriously at first to love but seriously as a likeable character that she is unique in her own right. I found her appealing throughout the years. Even though I don't play as much Tekken due to the inability to access them as much (ignoring the latest was fun btw) I'm DEFINITELY going to get Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6. I'm not really good these days as compared my child self, but my love for these franchises lore, characters etc, hasn't change one bit.
I love how both of her opponents are Nina and King, the two she fights from Tekken Bloodline. Someone already pointed out that she fought King in the forest area, just like in the said short anime. Aside from the references, I'm enjoying her new design and she was my secondary since Tekken 4 and I'm really hyped to play her again!
By the way, I found a YT stunt woman who makes videos imitating the movesets of several female game characters. Her name is Sofia Stunts and she has a Ling Xiaoyu coreography video.
The universe seemed to hear me. I wanted to see Xiaoyu's gameplay trailer today, and it happened! How shocked I was. And how glad I am, the trailer is fire. Xiaoyu is my favorite female character in Tekken. The costume and her looks are just perfect. I hope she gets a lot of attention in the story. And I hope Jin and Xiaoyu meet together
I still can't get over Jun's return in the last trailer and now they're going to drop Xiao's cuteness out of nowhere??? Bandai Namco is pulling all the guns!
Jin's waifu made the cut. Always liked Xiao. Her style and it seemed like she is only one to keep Jin in line. And the only one Jin actually listens to. Can't wait for her to meet Jun. Probably gonna be funny.
That's my girl! 😍🎉 Damn I'm feeling nostalgic. Haven't played Tekken in years, but I always enjoyed Xiaoyu. Love her fluidity, quickness, and playfulness.
Can we just... take a moment to really appreciate how great a job they're doing here? It just all looks phenomenal. My only hope is that they recapture some of the unique edge that made Tekkens 3-5 great.
I thought that the Jun trailer would be the last til Evo Japan. I'm so glad I was wrong. Keep em coming Namco. Oh and Ling looks incredible. Just fantastic 😍
Why does the resolution looks so sick in this game? When you see the effort, wicked details and moveset that goes into the characters makes me appreciate Tekken8 coming from Tekken 7 as it shows they too highly appreciate the looks and feel of the game. 🎉❤💯
I've always enjoyed watching how elegant and smooth Xiaoyu's movements are, and this one does not disappoint. I love her super, too, for the same reason.
MY GIRL! I love to see Xiaoyu again! Her costume seems like a mixture of 6 and 7 and she looks cute as always. Her Kung Fu is graceful and stylish as it should be and omg that winning pose is so cute! She looks so goooooooood
Really like the fact that Xiaoyu's kit hasn't changed too drastically from when I last played Tag Tournament 1. Definitely weightier than just light slaps lol
