You articulated that perfectly at the beginning about not many guides outlining a basic game plan! New to Tekken but have played Netherrealm games for a few years now. I liked what MainmanSwe (idk if spelled that right lol) did with his "insert x character" coaching guide where he goes over some simple game plans! About to watch this all the way through but I encourage to (if it's something you're interested in) to make more of these for other characters. I tend to find one character and stick with them but I'm determined to try out all the characters that interest me! Yes they all happen to be Mishima's at the moment but I'll branch out eventually haha
This is easily the best character video for beginners I've ever seen. You not only show the good moves but also provide the reasoning behind it and how and when to apply which is even more important. Awesome
Not many guides are mentioning QCB, F+2 throw, it's a 40 dmg throw with a 2 break and also does a full wall/balcony break. Win a lot of rounds cheesing that because people expect 1+2 throw. On wall/balcony break you can get an 80 dmg combo, or 100 with a wall. It's kind of bonkers.
Amazing guide, I've been looking for a character to move to after I got my Asuka to Shinryu, and Reina's been my number 1 pick, I've struggled with some of her moves, but this is a very good guide for someone who's looking to get started with her, thank you
Your video is the only video i can find to get some basics of reina but still this is fast for me. I will appreciate very much if you could list the combo in button form like the tekken combo list shows so I can grasp what 1 1 2 means etc
I'm not your biggest fan I'll keep it a buck, but I can't dispute the quality of your guides. You just keep it simple, streamlined, and easy to follow. No fluff.
very very new to the game, Idk if i missed it or just dont understand. How do i actually enter sentai? is there a button i have to push (with other strings that can also send me into it)? I just dont get it, you say "sentai 2", is that literally just hitting 2 while in sentai?
I’m sorry but he did not even go over her best strings and key moves. Her homing moves are very key to stopping her very linear offense, b 2 is an extremely good long range homing move that would float people that hop kick or orbital into a full combo. 3,2 is an evasive, homing, safe ch launcher. Side step 4 is her only safeish low that doesn’t give up your turn because db 2 is -16 and d4 is -15. F 2,3 is an extremely long range 13 frame punisher. That can be used as a poke because of how delayable the second hit is with the ability to transition into sentai. Df 4,2,3 is a mid, mid, high string with each hit being safe with the last hit being a ch launcher. The second hit being able to transition into heaven’s wrath, this string is especially oppressive in heat where she auto parries highs and mids when she’s in heaven’s wrath. Please do not use stone head into d4, 1 The second hit is techable and you will get launched because it’s like -35 on whiff. Rather use her cd 3 or db 4 as a ground hitting tool. Using hellsweep into heaven’s wrath 2 is also a bad flowchart because everyone is gonna step it into free launch, even raijin reina’s get launched doing this crap. You say this guide for beginners but didn’t teach them the importance of zen canceling heaven’s wrath. If you do not have the ability to zen cancel that stance it is PUNISHABLE BY RAGE ART. Every beginner’s best friend, most people will get scared after blocking her heat smash and panic rage art, guess what? you gonna eat it. No hate or flaming Akaraien but this guide will teach bad habits and plateau players in the long run. Other key moves are her b4, unsoku 4, ws4, uf 1, and cd 3. Experiment with other move as I’m not even scratching the surface of her deep kit.
Basically you can cancel heaven’s search by tapping down forward to go into a crouch dash, holding back fully cancels any stances and gives you the ability to block.
lies i saw few reina guides all ready some 2 weeks older than this you just did not Search tekken 8 character guide reina LIER i see some that are 2 weeks old on character guides beginner guides use your research brain you have the power on your phone and pc lies on the beginer guide i see some 12 days too 2 weeks ago look up on youtube tekken 8 beginner guide
Just because they say beginner guide doesn't mean they go over the same things. He is right this guide covers the basic gameplan and pressure scenarios. Yes other guides have them sprinkled in but this one I will say was very direct and exactly what I was looking for. It's not just "ff3 is good" it's actually walking through the mixup and core setups. Very good.this one and tmm detailed guide are very good for this
