In addition to being a good fighting game series, Tekken and Soulcalibur really stand out miles from other fighting games with the character customization. These make other fighting games just feel so indie budget.
Can I ask how decent the single player AI is? Does it input read, or do a good job at emulating playing against players? I never play online with these kinds of games.
Tekken AI is pretty good actually. It doesn't input read as much as Street Fighter does. Also with the Ghost system, as the game ages people will start uploading their ghosts and you can download them and play against different types of ghosts. When i was competing in Tekken about 10 years ago in the arcades, if I wasn't playing in the arcade I would grind AI Battles on the hardest setting. That helped me build my movement a lot and some of my fundamentals.
There's two kinds of AI: Ghost battle and normal CPU. The Ghost AI is the most realistic I've ever seen a fighting game AI behave, as it's emulating real people as it was recorded by real people. The normal CPU is the same artificial cheesy bad CPU in every fighting game since the 90s. I'm surprised they didn't toss it given there's a much better system. Try playing the demo on steam and give Arcade quest a shot to see how good it is for free :)
@@SlaineReigns Something I heard in previews that got me really excited was just how advanced the ghost system was! If that tech is used to a degree in the other single player modes, then I’m really hyped!
great review and i cannot wait for this game to drop in a few days! i'm glad the story mode is good this time, and the graphical upgrades are such a nice change of pace from tekken 7
i on same doubt like u.. but i bought infinite wealth 1st coz its long play thru.. but i kinda planning to buy tekken to play it when i take a break a bit from ichiban...
Mk1 net code means it's not worth more than 20. This game actually works. And it's still in its demo phase. It's a great game with a lot of great single player content. More than mk1 has. And mk is my favorite game series.
No it is worth it. Above commenter is crazy. You can get better and better and continue to have fun doing arcade, episodes, story, ball and the main meal of single player super ghost battle which reps the fighters similar to real people while still being fair to people of different skill sets.

So I played the demo and played on the hardest setting and never lost. Am I missing something. My friend and I both said this can’t be right. What am I missing? I mean never lost with no experience on the hardest skill playing the demo. Turned me off completely.
there is no "hardest" setting really. you have to fight advanced Ai opponent or if they have it again the input reading Ai in the last ranks of some pve mode. the average difficulty is a joke bcs the game doesnt want to frustrate newbs.
You were playing a demo remember? Playing other people's ghost in a early build...so play arcade or story with the hardest difficulty and u won't be winning so easily
It is easy yes, but if you want a challenge... play the game post-launch and fight high level Ghosts, or just straight up climb the ranks and I assure you, you will find sufficient challenge.
i never play tekken since tekken 3, i think ultra hard on the demo not that hard.. i can get like 8 win streak or something... but yea sometime i got bullied too
Get with the times, they are an absolute necessity to prolong games lifespans and characters these days cost a lot of money for developers to develop, especially in tekken with the sub 100 movelist every character has, the longer, more detailed animations and the fact it’s 3D. It’s also not like they’re holding back characters and saving them for DLC, they are constantly working in the background to make new characters to put them in as DLC so fans don’t get bored and the product doesn’t get stale in the long run.
@@Squidward-jv7go I choose not to get with the times. If a game does not include 100% of what it is on the cart or disc I don't buy it. I would happily buy a game + whatever dlc price is as long as it is done and on physical day one. As it is people that want to support that model can I just won't participate or I'll wait for 'game of the year' editions that are the complete game.
@@xMcWeenxUnderstandable take in other kinds of games, but for a FG it’s mostly just characters, unless you were holding out hope for a particular character, you’re not gonna get much out of the additional content.
It was going well until he said "masterpiece" you can tell he doesn't know about the culture of patches in fighting games, that definition can't be used until after a few years, but hey, what's expected from the worst NP reviewer.
It literally at launch is a masterpiece. So much amazing content and character variety and great game choices make it a masterpiece of a fighting game.

@@YuriYumi902 While Reina is undoubtedly unique, her move-set contains many of Heihachi's iconic attacks. - Katsuhiro Harada Isn’t she Heihachi’s illegitimate daughter as well? If the Devs were attempting to replace the combat void Heihachi leaves she’ll be the best candidate. Regardless IDC if a character is “ended”. He’s been in every game since the beginning, even in Soul Caliber 2 he made a cameo appearance. Removing legacy characters is a sure way to divide the fan base. A character can be in a fighting game without being in the story, because fighting game story modes take the back seat to the roster. So hopefully he’s eventually DLC. When he’s announced I’ll pick it up. Hopefully by then the base game will be on sale.
