Some stuff I've found labbing: 1) FLK 1 guarantees albatross 2 heat engage on ch (this is actually true for any of the hits in FLK 1,1,1 when you cancel into albatross; it also gives you crazy plus frames when you do this) 2) SWY 1 and stun gun (d/b+1+2) both are now at least +14 on hit. SWY 1 is also pretty easy to space to hit meaty and get +15 frames, guaranteeing f+1+2,2. 3) the new LH stance has a built in parry in heat mode which automatically transitions into a clinch mixup. Seems to be for all highs/mids that are not otherwise unparryable.
steve has a really sick combo with b1 extended crouch 1, df1,2~1 back, then doing an instant while standing 2,2 (because you’re in flicker) into new stance 2. Then you run up, hit b1,2 and cancel the new stance into a ducking 1
Aside from shiro, I have to say good bye to a combo I didn't get a chance to execute in game .. I will call it the stomp shiro combo When the wall is on your left and u do a db 32 , u can pick them up with peka d1 then cancel into crouch ws1, It was rarely seen in tournaments . The last one I can remember is a Pakistani name nauman did it this year

Do you think Steve worth to be played with after all these nerfed & changes? Actually I'm very disappointed about T8, all characters get huge and amazing changes like Jin,kazuya and Lee except Steven as always !
He will definitely be worth playing for me. I went through huge character crisis, played almost every top-tier character after all Steve nerfs in T7, but no matter what I always come back to ma boi. About T8 Steve. He is quite different. It's hard to say how strong he is without pvp experience. My problem with T8 is absurd power creep. Characters who should always be bottom tier get buffs. King and whoreang definitely needed only nerfs
There are definitely some nerfs here and there. But something I feel a lot of people forget is that he was MUCH better space control with his new stance. He can punish, launch AND a break your guard. All from a greater distance than T7. Also, he basically has no lows right now. But in turn he has SICK highs and a throw mix up - which incentives ducking still .. so Steve is not “duck the lows”, but more “avoid the highs” - and that brings an entirely different move set for Steve. I am really looking forward to see what he does.
@@sadpug9398 true, thanks for reminding me. Do you agree with the rest? I also felt like db3 2 was unnecessarily nerfed low, considering that it had poor range in t7, which justifies the knockdown.
Honestly, only df2, db32 and sonic fang nerfs matters. But better punishes (especially 12f and ws13f) and new way to pressure/mix may potentially compensate this nerfs
With his flk b+2 and dck 1, does alb 2 hit into heat dash for a combo? Also, with the lion heart stance, can he just db to cancel it? If so, how fast is the cancel? What is f+2,2 on block? B+2, iFLK,db, ws+1,2 possible? (Command like shirt combo) (should come out in 13f if done correctly, he could do this in t7 to punish 13f although hard to do on reaction). After a !W, can he still do d+2,1,2, sf?
Quick edit: After watching the video I realized the stuff that I looked for myself was pretty much stated in the video so mb🗿 F+2,2 is safe and a Nh string and is +11 LH can be Db canceled out of BUT there is incredible delay/lag trying to do it and it takes forever, I also found it’s easier to do any sway/duck input to recover quicker. and there is heavy lag when going into it manually as well. the b2 into iflk wild man I’ll try when I get the chance but I don’t think it’d be really useful as sonic fang is guaranteed and easier to do but not only that you can’t go into flk too fast anymore because you get the punch parry which isn’t b1+2 Also LH guardbreak Aka the only guardbreak Steve can use for whatever reason is linear as all living hell and can be stepped both ways but even if you do land it it’s heavily scaled as normal 112 gets 28 if you land the guardbreak and do it you only get 17-18 damage

No, you can't block. But if you cancel this stance into duck, you'll dodge jabs. Most stance transitions are +3 OB, so if they do anything slower than a jab, they'll eat homing mid. If they think you duck, you can't block 12f mid (i didn't check 13f, sorry), but you may challenge them with 2 - launch on trade
I wish this were true, but most characters lost their safe standing CH launcher. No more magic 4. But Steve keeps his safe b1 CH combo, in a game with better sidestep and worse backstep, encouraging more delaying of attacks at close range. Steve b1 dominates in that meta.
@@Ryan-tc2el absolutely not if Steve lost b1 he isn’t Steve anymore. That’s literally his whole thing after they took away his DF2. If they took away B1 he’d be the worst character in the game literally unplayed. He doesn’t have comeback potential. No intimidating lows. Not 1 standing launcher. No good punishers besides ws1,2. No ws launcher (he had a ch one but they removed that too). His wall carry was nerfed. His gattling gun is nerfed. B1,2 doesn’t wallsplat anymore. His 4,1,2 doesn’t launch anymore. His unblockable is replaced with something that gives just 112 follow up instead of knockdown. His db3,2 from kissing distance doesn’t knockdown anymore for a guaranteed follow up. Sonic fang doesn’t wallsplat anymore. B2 his fasted launcher at 17f it was terrible but it was SOMETHING, yes it doesn’t launch anymore. But yes of course complain about b1 because others don’t have magic 4
@@Ryan-tc2el Steve was not dead in Tekken7 because of his launching rage drive. It was top3. If he didn’t have that he would be B tier and lower. In tekken 8 that shit doesn’t even exist. So you can’t even use that to say he should be put above others in this game.
