The sad truth about it too is that Tekken really doesn't give you a good guy to root for since Tekken 6 -At least from the main cast of Mishima & Kazama characters (or basically any previously featured box art character). Now if we talk about Jun as a good person... Well she can't do no wrong if she wasn't in the games since T2 right? lol Besides that, her T8 version features her TTT1 Unknown moves repackage light side good versions...Sooo, she might still have that dark side to her story wise, so to me (for now) I can't really root for her either... So ultimately, maybe we just need to root for Lars and put him on the cover of the game box art for Tekken 8 and call it a day. lol
@@Concealed.Revealedgood guy was jinpachi but he's not alive anymore.. he was a wonderful person, used zaibatsu to do good but then heihachi took it from him and militarised it
I honestly think Kazuya is more sympathetic than Jin. The dude just didn't want his parents killing him -- and now his son and brother are after him! He's done pretty well given the circumstances.
Gonna have to go against this whole thread. Kaz started sympathetic, but by tekken 2 his goals were selfish, to gain power. Jin started a war and was responsible for the death of (I assume) millions. But ultimately that was to stop Azazel destroying the world later on which would kill billions. While Jin committed atrocious acts, they are for selfless reasons
What I like is that Jin is well aware he committed atrocious crimes and Kazuya was right to call out his son for that. Unlike Kazuya who has no remorse for his crimes, Jin is willing to atone for his crimes. Let's hope the story gets better when next year comes.
The funny thing is that Kazuya's "crimes", outside of retaliation against the zaibatsu in starting a world war, were like corporate espionage at best and Saturday morning cartoon villain at worst. He had some businessmen assassinated (Eddy's father), had a bunch of black market dealings with weapons and contraband being smuggled into Japan, and he had a dinosaur resurrected and trained to box. Two of those are pretty bad, sure, but nothing on the level of "I bombed places all over the globe (Miguel's sister's wedding) and started a world war just to increase the negative emotions in the world to expedite the the summoning of the physical manifestation of an evil god by 100 years just so I could kill it and maybe, POTENTIALLY, destroy the devil gene as a whole, which has never been proven, or stated, to have any correlation to said evil god." (Which, by the way, still makes absolutely zero sense, and I'm surprised that not a single person in Jin's close staff told him how utterly l ridiculous it sounded) Say what you want about Kazuya being evil but the guy doesn't even hold a flame to the atrocities his son committed, in the span of a few months no less; and Kazuya held the Zaibatsu for 2 whole years. I honestly doubt Kazuya would have even tried to start a world war, and his time as the head of the Zaibatsu proves his pursuits are more mob boss than destroyer. He wants to rule it not blow it up.
Kazuya is verbally destroying him. Also its so satisfying when they actually put effort like this into the story. Kazuya actually debating Jin rather than just being the generic bad guy is great.
Man I’ll be the first to talk bad about all the wasted plot and retcons in Tekken but DAMN do they know how to hype up a fight when they choose to I cant wait for T8’s story
This looks intriguing. Tekken has been my favorite franchise since I was a kid. As I enjoyed tekken 7 for long, I hope tekken 8 will have longer, better story.
If you watch closely, you see the animations are different from the regular game when they get hit or block certain attacks, to look more dynamic. Wouldnt mind to have those in the main game as well tbh
I love how Kazuya is aware of how bullshit Jin was with what he did in Tekken 6 And then Jin goes on a redemption arc mirroring Siegfried in Soul Calibur III...
What exactly did Siegfried do tho? He killed his father not knowing it's him, so not really his fault.. Nightmare was killing left and right but again it was soul edge controlling Sieg's mind, that's not his fault neither.. Jin knew what he was doing very well unlike Sieg I think
@@KazuyaKai1012 Siegfried still chose to give in to the Soul Edge's power because he was weak Their story beats are similar in which both of them massacred scores of people and then decided to atone for their sins afterwards
@@chidori7234Siegfried was not in control for most of his actions, unlike Jin who did everything willingly. Whatever Sieg wanted I'd irrelevant because he wasn't acting on any of those desires
I like Lars choice of music for him and his crew to listen too in the aircraft. It clashes a bit with the mood but seems to alleviate some of the tension and stress of their important mission. 0:19 - Even Jin's listening to the same song, though rather hard to hear over the helicopter. Not quite sure I follow their plan yet; Jin's to chase after a helicopter on a motorbike? 0:38 - Oh, that's the plan... that made no sense but it was super bad-ass! Why isn't that Jin's rage art!? 1:46 - Seems some citizens of the city stuck around and decided to film and narrate this fight. Good on them. In all seriousness though, love that transition into the fight. 2:52 - Awesome way to transition into Round 2. If only there was a way to do such a thing in a casual match, have some sort of quick react mini-game between rounds.
1:20 never thought I'd see Kazuya speak like that 😂😂. So Tekken 6 Jin was the villian now, in Tekken 8 Kazuya's the villian. He's right tho, Jin started the war.
Jin: "Your very existence brings turmoil to the world" Kazuya: "You started WW3 to fight a ancient space chicken with your magic karate when your space laser could of worked. You're make me look like the good guy here"
I really hope we get brought back to a stage with a black background, and maybe a remix of Emotionless Passion! It would be such a cool callback... 😢😢😢
I think the wording of the dialogue could be better, but this is leaps and bounds better then almost all previous tekken dialogue. Kazuya is doing more than just cackling and going HUUUUAAAAHHHHHHHH, it would be interesting if he sees himself as being the righteous one delivering justice to Heihachi's corruption and Jin's needless war casualties. Would be funny if Kaz referenced NYC as had been a nice place before Jin started the war, calling back to them fighting on Paul's stage in Tekken 2.
FCKING HYPE!!!! Seeing Jin in a Story Battle just like this is the greatest comeback ever!!! It really sucked not seeing him much in Tekken 7's Story Campaign but TK8 really came clutch for this!!!
Amazing cinematic and gameplay 🔥 and I hope this game has a big and complex ending where none of these two win. Both get their good path. Or maybe they are irredeemable.
Jin can still atone for his sins, he admitted that what he did was wrong but all he wanted is to remove the Devil's influence within him and defeat Kazuya from bringing the world to ruin. Kazuya in the other hand was blinded by vengeance, but refusing to acknowledge the truth behind his mother's death (Heihachi killed Kazumi because she was sent by her clan to eliminate Heihachi because he was deemed a threat to the world in the future). And in Tekken 4 he said something like “he'll take everything back” or something, further reinforcing his lust for domination. But what am I looking forward is Jun's role in Jin and Kazuya's fight, will she be able to stop Kazuya or she has to sacrifice one of them? Who knows?
You know you done fucked up when Kazuya is sounding like the good guy. Really rooting for Jin to atone for his mistakes, and then for Miguel to make good on his promise of killing him when he's finally found hope.
If you watched this cutscene he was laughing that weak ass shit off so I doubt he's gonna lose Plus he just got a power boost 😂 bro is on a whole different level
Both have done bad things but here is the difference, Jin knew what he did is wrong and willing to atone for his crimes and willing to end the Mishima bloodline. Kazuya on the other hand is a long lost cause and he doesn't care. Jin is still willing to do the right thing so im routing for him
CAP 🧢🧢🧢🧢 Jin started a whole world war and killed millions of people Kazuya did not Atone for his sins??? They shoulda never been sins in the first place 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Can't make up for it It's a whole game called Tekken 6 Where the new characters introduced have stories based on hating who? JIN 😂
They can't make him lose he's been the face of Tekken for Years and now he's on Smash Brothers I doubt they would make him this powerful now just to have Jin kill him Come on now as a Kaz main to another You should know it's gonna take more then that to take our boy out :)
@@cameronn_terrell Jin is gonna win easily anyway. As hes the face of Tekken, the main character and always were since Tekken 3. Even tho, no one is really gonna die as we know
@@Alex-Omega right but that's why the Tekken Franchise started off with Kazuya lol stop the cap 🧢 Jin is not the face and I'll do you one better If hes the face why is Kazuya representing Tekken on Smash Bros and not Jin??? Right. No need to say anything further :)
Everyone talked about the story, BUT TAKE NOTICE ON SOME OF JINS BULLSHIT!! CD+4,2 > zen U+1 WR 3(?) > Zen 4 Zen 2 and ff2 into heat dashes (consumed one of the bars btw) same with the heat drives.
He used to be during T4 but he seems to not care about it anymore.. Initially he thought he needed it to use full devil form but then in T7 he transformed into super Saiyan without Jin's half
