I remember buying and playing T1, T2, and T3 upon release. Indeed I remember being incredibly excited in Scarborough to find an early release arcade machine of tekken 3, before it was released to the public on PlayStation. Amazing.
Tekken 1-3 Hit me in the Nostalgia button. The 3d Rendered models, but above all that music brings me back to being a kid seeing these at Arcades and later having some of the games on a PS1.
I FUC---- LOVE 90's CGI! I was so mesmorized by anything 3D back then. I remember the Tekken 1 intro playing over and over at a Blockbuster PS1 demo kiosk and I would just stare at it, thinking it was the coolest thing ever. Toy Story blew my 10 year old mind to hell after that, but the Tekken 1 intro will always be my first exposure to CGI. Also, love the video!
Tekken 3 is where I actually got into this Tekken game since my childhood, my cousin introduced this to me when I was 8 years old using the PS1 version of this game. Looking back at all these intro openings to all the Tekken games brings me back memories feeling the nostalgia act. 💯👏👏👏👏🔥🔥
Thanks for putting all these endings and intros together my man. Really appreciate it. Speaking of characters, I wonder which trio would win in a fight. Kazuya, Kazumi, and Jinpachi vs Jin, Jun, and Heihachi.
I had discovered the first Tekken primarily on Arcade. At the time I had fallen in love with Michelle, I loved it when we chose her from the menu and she moved her head.
There was definitely a drop off in popularity for the series when Tekken Tag Tournament came out on PS2 as fatigue had started to set in. Also feels like fundamentally not much has changed since Tekken 3 core gameplay wise.
This game (Tekken 1) is fucking ridiculously hard. No controller input and the CPU beats the hell out of you. Not gonna play through it anymore. Also, I have world records in both Tekken 2 and Tekken 3. FWIW.
