I made this video too soon. Lidia Sobieska is now sharing the top spot. And yeah, I goofed and called Lars "Leo". Lidia Sobieska wouldn't make that mistake.
"At least Christie had her grandfather, Xiaoyu has nothing" Xiaoyu: *has a badass grandfather that's one of the series' playable characters with deep and intricate lore tied to franchise's main story* "Would you rather have someone that's only devoted to you, or someone who has their own hobbies and interests" Xiaoyu: *has a weird but unique obsession with amusement parks in every game since her debut* Asuka: *has absolutely no hobbies or interests whatsoever outside of getting annoyed at other people* Also Asuka: *doesn't have a single friend* You're messing up boi
@@BugLondon They are not friends. In T3 Heihaichi just scouted Xiaoyu for the Iron Fist tournament. She was promised her own amusement park if she won. That's what her ending makes fun of.
I have never seen a fighting game character get more abused than Asuka, literally nothing good ever happens to her, even when Lili is not involved, especially in tekken 7 where she can't win in both cases. If Lili wins Asuka gets slapped, if Asuka wins her whole life gets bought by Lili. Even if Lili focuses on Eliza(which I hope would give Lili some character) we are not sure that Asuka would have anything good happen to her
I feel like *Julia* is massively underrated and a pretty misunderstood character. While people seem to look at her and consider her character to be pretty inconsistent I think of it the opposite way and feel like she has way more depth and layers than many if the other characters in the roster: She studied archeology because of her fascination for her tribes origins. Entered the third tournament to rescue her mother. Joined a researcher group to Reforestation her homeland. Re-entered the tournament to stop Jin and Kazuya from colliding so that the world wouldn't get destroyed. Replaced her friend as a wrestler and lastly became a streamer to not only finance her Reforestation project but also bring awareness to the dangers that the world is facing. From all these you can take away that she is smart, protective, has a strong bond to her family, loves mother earth, is spiritual, a heroine of sorts since she was willing to put her life on the line to save mother earth, is a good friend and rather charming. But even with all these different goals and aims throughout her journey she still has one main goal that was consistent eversince T4: which is the Reforestation of her homeland. She never really lost the common theme. To me she was therefore never really inconsistent but rather have a lot of lore that could back up her personality. I love that about her. 💚
Nah, she's one of the most boring females in terms of personality as she's been stuck trying to reforest her tribe's lands since T4 at least and now she's gotten even worse as a streamer. I prefered her as a luchadora no doubt (even though I never liked her in terms of personality ever since T3, but at least I would have to concede since she was a good looking female wrestler in TTT2 she should be somewhat attractive, but then again Bamco screwed that).
@@Leadblast exactly shes very boring her only personality trait is that she loves nature and trees I feel they should reboot her as Jaycee cause Tekken needs an actual wrestling chick and its a better design overall
They also never really went into her friendship with King II. They could’ve had an interesting story if they use Jaycee Where she had to team up with Armor King II and would’ve been conflicted fighting her friend.
I personally feel like Michelle still was a bit more interesting character and more involved with the main conflict.. Julia apart from T3 went on a really boring path. I like the Chang moveset so I use her here and there. Yes the reforestation is consistent but I thought her ending in Tekken 5 was canon thus she succeeded in starting the reforestation.
Josie's story is actually pretty cool, after a typhoon in the Philippines the Tekken Force goes to help with the disaster. They then run a recruitment test for the locals and she goes through it and passes (I think). Imagine Josie as part of the Tekken Force in future games.
Josie as a Tekken Force member would be like this "Sexy Female Tekken Force soldier" that got 2nd place in the new Tekken Revolution character poll which only catered to weebs and nobody else.
My own Tekken waifu list in TTT2 (no, not T7, T7 is pathetic) was like: S tier - Anna, Zafina A tier - Asuka, Christie, Jaycee, Unknown B tier - Angel, Michelle, Lili, Jun, Kuni, Miharu C tier - Alisa, Xiaoyu, Leo Nina tier - Nina, Panda
I wanna see if I can clear up Julia's character in T7. Basically she streams as a sort of performer (where she posts fights from the tournament) to raise funds for a sort of nonprofit organization to help forest restoration. I don't think her personality changes, I think she acts as twitch streamer for the sake of getting attention to her stream just like she used to do as Jaycee. It's a jumbly plot, but that's the best I can explain it.
It's a little bit of fridge logic probably unintended by the developers, but considering the tournament in-universe is bigger than football IRL (plus, the participants are superhuman), basically all the world has heard of all tournament participants. With today's internet culture, imagine you're someone that probably a billion people recognize the name of, and you also happen to be a pretty girl... You start streaming any random stuff and you're probably raking in tens of millions per month.
I can't disagree with the placements of Lili and Eliza in terms of wife material A rich brat and an immortal narcoleptic vampire would probably not make amazing mothers They are still my favorites though. This is a subtle nod to the fact that I have a thing for vampires and french girls
For me Nina Williams, Zafina, Julia Chang, Angel and Jun Kazama are my top tiers there are a lot of mehs, you must do a SNK waifu tier list next, maybe Guilty Gear and SF if you haven’t done SF yet?
I used to like Lili because in T6 I played Asuka and a friend played Lili. But then you pointed out how Lili drags down and actively keeps Asuka away from the main conflict when she should absolutely play a mayor role, that I just want her to get her money back and fuck off lol
xDD lili keeping her away from dumb sexualized illegal boob trash story like in tt2 or tekken 5 so be gratefull for lili because her story was good in t5 dr then turned into trash with boobsuka
Bit of a hot take and a theory all at the same time... Xiayou for some reason has a very questionable and dodgy impact in the games. Her start in a story mode tells what she’s been up to but it’s not anything noteworthy (loose exception in T7 , hopefully that goes somewhere). In her original appearance she is a comedic character or light-hearted if you will but for every game she appeared in it seems she would have a much more important role, although that could be said about any other character. That’s a little weird considering how close she’s supposed to be to one of the main players(Jin). My question to anyone “Is Xiayou canon after the beginning of her story in tekken 4?”, Her involvement is obscure and confusing.
I personally understand her involvement very well. In T3, she wanted her dream to have an amusement park. T4, she wants to know more about the Mishima Zaibatsu since she got that anonymous letter. She ran to Yoshimistu during the tournament as heard that Heihachi threw Kazuya of the cliff and that’s where she wanted to time travel in T5 in order to save the Mishima family. In T6, Xiaoyu just wants to look for Jin and help him as her priority. And in T7, she’s determined to look for Jin again.
If you consider how much of Hwoarang’s endings(in exception of T6 cuz there wasn’t any tournament) ended up as canon, it feels that Xiaoyu was there just to make sure that his rivalry with Jin didn’t feel like it screams “GAY GAY HOMOSEXUAL GAY” as this commonly happened to a lot of other media when there were two guys seemingly together(some of the examples being Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, Naruto and Sasuke, Udyr and Lee Sin from League of Legends) Basically as a plausible deniability that can be used when the company needs it due to ambiguous implications in their relationship
"She (Kazumi) tries to murder her husband and that doesn't make her a good wife, yet you guys are somehow aroused by that?" Yeah..... I don't get it either. I still hate that Namco messed up Julia so bad. They turned her from kind, strong-willed environmentalist to luchador who filled in for her sick friend and adopted her gimmick..... but then in Tekken 7, Namco basically Roman Reigns-ed her and had her legitimately quit being a luchador because she got booed so much despite being the babyface (good guy in wrestling terms) and now all of a sudden, she becomes a Twitch thot, even using donations to fund her research. If Namco didn't want JayCee anymore, they should have either have Juliet revert back to her serious environmentalist personality and Michelle returns in the main canon as MayCee as seen in Michelle's TTT2 ending OR just have Juliet turn evil and perhaps have her do evil things in order to restore the rainforest in her story and Michelle returns to beat some sense back into her adopted daughter. Julia/JayCee before Tekken 7 will always be best waifu for me. She cared about her mother and her sick friend, helped said sick friend by filling in as JayCee for her, she also deeply cares for the environment and saving the rainforest.... and likes pro wrestling... and is friends with my boy King, I guess. It's a win/win for me.
To be fair, Namco did the exact same mishandling of Michelle. I think they really wanted to keep the moveset but had no idea what to do with the characters themselves.
@@pious83 the idea of Julia as a wrestler came from T5 board in the old (now defunct) Tekken Zaibatsu forums actually. It was back in T5 era when people proposed the idea of luchadora Julia. I think Harada took it from there and made it for TTT2
I don´t personally like a lot of the characters of Tekken, but ,once again i agree. Asuka is the best. Unfortunately, she is wasted as a character like you said, being the one the closest relatives to Jin but they don´t have anything to say, like , come on. Lars has some stuff and Asuka doesn´t even had anything related to the Devil Gene.
I find it funny that the list ended up almost symmetrical and would have been so if "FUCKING TRASH" wasn't a tier (or was what Lucky Chloe's tier was called). I am honestly surprised that Nina wasn't dumped in that tier, however, since she's an *awful* person in general beyond being an awful mother. Ironically her having basically no maternal attachment to Steve is thr one thing I can actually forgive her for since she and Anna were in cryostasis for most of his life. There would be as much attachment there as if a woman gave birth, immediately lapsed into a coma for 20 years due to complications, and then woke up to some random young man claiming to have be her child. Even the most empathetic person would have difficulty grappling with that, never mind the utterly cold-hearted bitch that Nina is, who would totally be a worse wife than Kazumi. While Kazumi is also a garbage character, she basically seemed to actually care for Heihachi and vice versa until the retconned plot demanded that she started to believe a self-fulfilling prophecy that he would turn evil enough to threaten the world for some reason since we all know how Heihachi turned out. At least Kazumi had the decency to die too instead of stagnate while keeping the spotlight off of more interesting characters. I look forward to the other videos that spawn out of this one given basically every _Tekken_ character who isn't a Mishima or Nina (or Akuma or Lucky Chloe) has a ton of wasted at this point unfortunately.
I honestly don't understand for a split second why Harada was suprised and upset that people hated Lucky Chloe. It's one thing to be completely out of place in the universe, but being a shit character on top of that is a deathblow. I'm supposed to believe that G Corp which is run by Kazuya, one of the most evil people on the planet, has an asshole k-pop mascot wearing cat paw gloves. That would be like revealing Shao Kahn really makes gummy bears in the Flesh Pits, while Mileena and Scarlet were just a front to cover it all up. Both MK11 and Tekken 7 are a dumpster fire in terms of story. But MK11 at least tried.
I mean, this is for PR right? Personally I think it's kind of hilarious that this evil asshole is so completely clueless about how to be likable that he just has this random idol to do it for him. The real problem with Chloe is since there's barely any story outside the main plot, we don't know how she's treated *in-universe*. Is she loved? Hated? Is she meant to be annoying in-context? Does she have any ulterior motives? We don't know because the story never lets us see beyond the small scope it gives us.
Regarding the daughter of Kunimitsu I would actually put the mother in bad and the daughter in Don't care. Not only does the daughter have a face but the mother has done basically nothing in the story other then fail against Yoshimitsu and be greedy, not only is her daughter arguably more pretty, but isn't just greedy for the sake of it, she inherited it and she has more room to explore. Sure she took away her mothers role but her mothers role was poor IMO
I think another problem for Kuni Jr. is that she's in Tekken 7 where from what I understand, there is no arcade mode endings and story stuff except for character bios and the story mode that only covers the Jin-Kazuya-Heihachi-Kazumi story, as such, all we have Kuni Jr. is just the short bio she comes with. Were she to come back for Tekken 8, which I hope they do because it'd be a shame to have her dropped before getting anywhere as a character, they could transplant the story she has for 7, and/or maybe have it so it goes beyond being just that and she becomes a friend/apprentice of Yoshimitsu instead, redundant as it'd be with Kuni Jr. already trained. And I'm with you, much as I adore Kuni Sr., being that she was a sub-boss character, there wasn't really much going for her outside her feuds with Michelle in Tekken 1 and Yoshimitsu in Tekken 2 and what story has been gathered from side media, and with the Tag games she came back not being canon either, her finally getting one over on Yoshimitsu in both her Tag endings end up meaning nothing because of the game's non-canon status.
Asuka is really not that interesting. Personally I'm mostly interested in the Williams sisters and their story and what their relationship with Steve will be, I want to see where it goes. But in Tekken, everyone that's not a Mishima is treated as unimportant or as a joke.
The preamble about the "lucky chloe" tier and the illegal tier is gold to me. On the opposite end I am wondering why is there this much fap fuel but the personality is either crap or argusbly nonexistant. Just get a blow up doll at that point. Or make a clone harem. Actually watch out for copyright if you do that.
Are we ranking people based on story purposes? cause if we do, Jun should probably be top tier/best girl, her whole story is about how from 1 encounter with Kazuya that was either romantic or...rapey, she was devoted to taking care of their son, she protected him from Devil Kazuya, one of the strongest characters in the series at the time and died trying to do the same against Ogre, another strong, boss character. Btw, as fucking trash as Tekken 7's story was, with all the non-sensical decisions and retcons and whatever else, it's still better than MK11's story because at least it didn't completely destroy the lore of it's series like MK11 did by making everything not matter and making the characters who cause that to be unbelievably incompetent and unlikeable, at least Tekken's story is still salvageable.
Dude she'd been 16 since I was a kid PS 1 By this point I do anybody care there fictional characters It's not like the age until the writer makes them age
I would be outraged by half this list, but the more I think about it, very few of the Tekken girls are actual wife material. Only the most powerful badass can wife thrill-seekers or assassins and make it work. That's not me, and I wouldn't wanna keep any of them, except Julia or Katarina. They're interesting without being too dangerous. Honestly though I just want one night with Kazumi.
Its vlogs for Julia, you can tell from her trailer because it was set in the jungle. That's how tekken story is now and its ridiculous. We got to make more guesses then mishima mains, Everything 50/50.
Best Girl: Anna Williams Top Tier: Nina Williams Good: Jun, Angel, Unknown, Asuka, Xiaoyu, Christie, Katarina, Michelle, Julia/Jaycee, Zafina, Lidia Don't Care: Miharu, Lili, Eliza, Master Raven, Josie, Kunimitsu, Kunimitsu II, Leo, Kazumi, Taekwondo Girl Bad: Eliza Trash: Lucky Chloe Tekken has a lot of female characters possibly the most in fighting games at the moment.
No matter what, everything takes a backseat to the Mishima palaver, so the new characters, barring guests like Negan and Noctis since their stories are covered in their respective series, don’t feel like they’ve been given enough attention compared to the ones that are as old as the franchise itself. Still, there are standout characters (barring waifus), like Leroy Smith, who nods to the Ip Man quadology in his moveset and fighting style whilst bringing his own aesthetic flair.
@@raiaanahmed8804 Why would anyone like Lucky Chloe, she's an anime stereotype, Tekken is all about fighter and Martial Artists, not some dumb anime stereotype fantasy stuff.. I mean yeah Tekken has some anime stuff and I dig anime, but this character crosses the line..
Tacky design, annoying voice, and just gives off this obnoxious aura... It's not hard to understand realy lol She really only appeals to a certain niche demographic.
@@decadentgamer3108 wow I never thought of it that way. Out of the other 45 members of the cast there's no one else who could fit that description. Thank you for opening my eyes 👀
@@jeffreymaxson6216 I know you're being sarcastic but you asked. And as someone who doesn't like her design and thinks it looks like a tacky dumpster fire of a design, I will say that I also felt the same way about Alisa (though I much prefer the new outfit she has in T7 because her old T6 one was a tacky gaudy eyesore) and Lars (stupid looking hair and cape that ruined an otherwise decent outfit design) as they were the first ones to really kickstart the trend of tacky animu designs that accounted for the whole design and not just little sections of it (The Mishima hairstyles)
@@polar6066 Couldn't care less. The person asked why Lucky Chloe wasn't very liked, I gave a reason. She's still one of my top 3 least favorite characters but my ire towards her is not as prevalent as it was back when she first released because we got returning veterans like Anna and Julia back.
You agree that Asuka Kazama is best girl? Mate, I am watching Tekken (canon-wise), and I've yet to decide on Asuka being a favorite! I do hate Lili and Lucky Chloe though.
Ah poor Lili, she’s only super eye candy thanks to her improved model at Tekken 7 and the customization but the way she was shoehorned during the Tekken 6 saga did ruin her reputation as Asuka’s rival. Things could have done better during that time skipped unless Harada tries to redeem her by Tekken 8 but nether the less, I don’t know who’s claiming for her on this comment section?
I always was rating waifus in foghting games by their looks, because they are so uninteresting with 0 personality mostly, big respect to you for doing the opposite.
But a Sonic waifu tier list would be easy. Best Girl: Vanilla. She's an adult, she's nice, raises her kid well, cooks. She comes pre-loaded with a pretty good (post-diaper!) daughter and a robot servant. also some chao are around, but we can tune them out. Top-tier: Good-tier: Decent-tier: Rouge. She's legally an adult, she seems loyal if she likes you and cleavage. Downside? Seems high-maintenance. Also, will probably steal your stuff. ...Maybe You Just Didn't Know-tier: most You Disappoint Me-tier: Cream, Marine, the Chao, Walrus lady and the animals in the badniks. Ooo, kinky!-tier: Omega with a female voice
Screw the "Gender fluid" nonsense, she's still a woman. She's really just a tomboy and there's nothing wrong with it, it was cool to see a different kind of female character who was more on the masculine side.
Alisa is actually a really good character to me, if you saw the tekken movie she was in you’d understand why I like her so much😏 and I like Lili also especially since Eliza is her sister now. I actually thought Asuka and Lili liked each other cause they dealt with each other for so long. They both drag each other down and I find it funny, but to each their own
@@kallinky4364 There are objective critiques of writing, plot, pacing, characterization. Saying 'well, to each their own' is a cop-out. Yeah, the movie is crap from that standpoint. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy it, nothing wrong with enjoying it - remember people enjoy stuff like The Room for example. A lot of John Travolta's recent movies have been shit, but I unironically love seeing him on screen. I recognize why his projects have been shit though.

Alisa - (Bad) I also never understood a European girl speaking Japanese. Sounds very weird. And yeah, a Mary-Sue to the fullest extent. Angel - (Don't Care) Only say this because not much is known about her at all, nor her personality, as you already stated. Need more than what's been given. Anna - (Fucking Trash) Sex appeal and nothing more. People only fancy her because she could pass for a 20-year-old. Her rivalry with Nina has gone stale since Tekken 5, and it needs to end. I don't care how, just END it. Asuka - (Don't Care) Don't know what all the hype is around her. Entertains a pointless rivalry, not involved in the Mishima story enough, and is a hotheaded tomboy. Christie - (Don't Care) Not even Christie's looks are enough for me. Her story is lackluster at best and the one she cares for other than her deceased Grandfather always deserts her. Wasteful. Eliza - (Fucking Trash) What value does she even add to the story other than being Lili's old as hell sister? (If that's even accurate) Boring. Jaycee/Julia - (Good) The Luchadora was a good choice for Julia, something that should be expanded upon. But Harada fucked up changing her personality from previous games. He probably ruined her for good with me. A shame too since she's one of my favorites. Josie - (Don't Care) Not much to say about this new character. Looks very good for a teenager, but not someone you would consider a Waifu, especially with how ditzy she can be. Jun/Unknown - (Top Tier) Harada should be blacklisted for how underused Jun is for this series. Think of all the possibilities that could be used for her. She might be the only one able to stop Jin/Kazuya from reaching utter darkness. (If they haven't already) Katarina - (Good) Doesn't really have a major part in the story, but I do like her appeal. I need to see more as there could be something useful here. Kazumi/Devil Kazumi (Bad) To your point, who would want a wife who wants to murder you? (Though she had a better sense for what Heihachi eventually turned into at the beginning) Kunimitsu/Daughter - (Bad) I had high hopes for Kuni's daughter but ended up disappointed as she basically takes up her mother's revenge. Uninsipring to say the least. And I wasn't a big fan of the original either. Leo - (Good) I digress on the issue of Leo's gender. (Could care less but make up your mind, Tekken) She does display good traits and perhaps something could be gained with her and Steve. Lili - (Fucking Trash) Take her out of the series. NOW. End of story. Lucky Chloe - (Lucky Chloe) Pretty self explanatory. Master Raven - (Good) Don't care what ANYONE says. It took Tekken 25 plus years for the first African American female to appear, so it's long overdue. Although, I don't agree with her replacing Raven, which I still don't understand. A great look and badass techniques. Wish there was more to learn about her, her subordinate, and their rivalry with Dragonuv. Michelle - (Good) A prototypical foster mother doing what she can for Julia. But I can't get an exact read on her due to limited screen time. Definitely waifu material. Miharu - (Bad) Merely a palette swap for Xiao; nothing more. Nina - (Fucking Trash) Boring, stale, unemotional, and a deadbeat mother. Need I say more? As with Anna, Nina is the typical female assassin we all see through various games. Serious about the job and hardly has time for anything else. If she's really the best at what she does, why is Anna still alive? Both either need to die or retire. That rivalry has run its course. Panda/Roger Jr. - (Illegal) Moving on... Tae Kwon Do Girl - (Don't Care) I don't even vaguely remember if I ever saw this woman before, so I can't really form an opinion. Xiao - (Top Tier) I struggled so much with this one. Not the bustiest girl in the franchise, Xiao makes up for it by doing her best in being heroic, even if it doesn't always work out. I prefer her over Asuka because she legitimately wants to help Jin. (Though he treats her like she's not there. Emo) Harada needs to expand her role. She's been due for one since Tekken 4. Zafina - (Good) She has a mysterious vibe about her that I couldn't help but feel entranced. Now that Azazel is a part of Zafina, my intrigue has only increased. Hopefully something worthwhile is done with her character.
I'm Lili Main tho (Also Zafina and Alisa) I get it she got that bitchy attitude I understand it but I still love her so much tho it just breaks my heart to see and to hear what this video says about her and putting her into trash, same with the comment section. Go hate me all you want but for me I think she doesn't deserve to be called trash even she has that bitchy attitude because for real tho if you watch carefully about hers and Asuka's story she treats her as both Rival and Friend especially in TT2 and SFxT. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Lili doesn't really know how to treat a friend since her father doesn't like Lili to be connected with other people besides the people inside their Mansion. It's just my opinion tho and this hurts me alot, I just seen this video in my Recommendation to see what he'll do with my mains (Lili, Alisa, and Zafina) but when I heard his opinion about Lili and the comments here about Lili just hurts me alot.
Since you did tekken waifu list, maybe do Soul Calibur next? You would have way much info and context for every character in terms of backstory and personality.
@@The4thSnake This is unrelated although maybe do a Sonic ships tier list because you know a lot about the lore of my favourite franchise. Thanks, king
Her bio in T7 is that she was going to marry a Mafia guy but then Nina infiltrated the wedding, posing as Anna (which is why her default outfit is that tattered white bride dress to begin with) and she killed the guy and now Anna wants to have her revenge (as if she didn't have plenty of reasons to kill her before lol)
