Awesome video you really helped me know how to do it.. no wasted money at the bike shop . They sure overcharge for such a simple job... my bike seems to need new pads every 750 miles. I had a bad accident when they both seemed to wear out at the same time. Put a big dent in my helmet.. Probably would have killed me without the helmet.. Cheers to you .

great video. that caliper adjustment on the inside of the wheel fixed my issue. I can see the caliper squeezing but not tight enough after you should me that adjustment bike is back in action! thank you

I thought for sure I was gonna hear you say, "Hi I'm Tim the Toolman Taylor!" It's surprising how complicated something can look yet be so stupidly simple. Seeing how I just got my bike I don't think I'm going to be needing new brakes pads any time soon. Not for another 2500 miles. Lol. One question, Have you or your wife ever gotten a flat tire? (Without the inserts) I like your garage setup how you put the bikes away to keep floor space. Very cool. Would be fun to see some riding videos as well if you're up to it.

Hi love your videos…. My rear brake on my stepthrough failed. I squeezed the brake and it clicked when I squeezed the brake but no functioning rear brake just a clicking noise . I adjusted the rear brake according to your video as I have many times but now still when I squeeze the brake it clicks initially but it doesn’t activate the braking action ? Suggestions? Also I took the adjusted off from the inside and now can’t get the bb to remain in its position when I screw the adjuster back in . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks , Jim Thompson

Thanks for the videos! I have both of these bikes, but I am finding it hard to find replacement parts for the bike. What brake pads did you use for each bike? And are the tektron Aries the standard brakes that come with the himiway?

So I have a cruiser pro with 350 tektro brake levers so I need the E10-11 tektro brake pads and if I order them on your site you will get credit I'm confused because I see the p 20.11 and the E10.11 would fit a cruiser pro?

hello tinker,alli do is push thee power button untill i get the "P I " screen --noo main screen but i have tottal power to the motor when i use the original throttle not a ''add--onn''' all origial parts,,,.thanks for answering..Allen Stenquist

How many miles should I expect to get from the pads that came on the bike? It's an hjm bike with the exact brake set up as your bikes. I have about 700 miles on the bike and had to adjust the brakes a couple of times and they work perfectly but I'm just curious what the average life span of the pads are. Thanks

Having a problem with the rear caliper not adjusting far enough out for rotor clearance. I have removed the caliper and I have also adjusted the cable tension but I still have a drag on the rear. Any suggestions?

Hey Tim, I have a himiway cruiser with 1700 miles. Ive adjusted the calipers a few times and today I replaced my well-worn pads per your video, and now the rear brake cable seems to be binding / won't allow the brake caliper spring to return to the open position. without the cable connected teh caliper seems to have plenty of spring strength and free travel. With the cable connected to teh caliper the brakes will engage once but wont release. Any ideas?

Should have tightened down the barrel nut at the caliper before tightening the cable slack. Great video otherwise!
