AWESOME movie!!! I switched from alpine gear in 2001, been skiing since I was 5 (1978).... I have friends ask why I "still" Tele.... my response is "once you free your heel, you'll never lock it back in". We need more Telemark movies in my personal opinion. Also, since I own a Sprinter I feel for the loss of the van....man..... Thanks for making this, cheers!!!

Epic ski movie, very inspirational. I just came in from my first ride on telemark skis, it was really wierd to put skis in opposite position in the turn than slalom, but it felt really nice having that knee down and heel free.

Been on telly skis since early 90's, the future of telly skiing is at 12:05 in...Ty adds parallel turns, hip wiggles, freely with tight and open telly turns all in a more upright posture. Telemark needs a new name its not just telemarking with the fat skis and stiff bindings it is simply Free Heel Alpine. Mix it all up...It is way cool to do what ever turn feels best at the moment. IButter at 21:20 brilliant - lots of creative skiing here...fantastic.

Thanks! Yes it is super convenient to throw an alpine turn every once and a while. You can't beat the feeling of a tele turn, but sometimes its more appropriate/easier/less sketchy to make an alpine turn.

Nice Production! You charge and make it look easy. Love the varied terrain, mellow vibe, and constant send. Was that the Camp Fire at the end? Thanks for sharing this.

Joseph is correct, the fire is one of the many that happened mid summer.

Awesome! Super nice pow everywhere. What boards are you riding? Looking to put a deep stuff set together and looking for dimensional recommendations. Im 6’ 195 and considering volkl 108 or bd boundary 115 wondering what those red k2 fatties were. Peace. Btw. Sweet van with woodstove!

Thanks! I don't actually know the specific ski Ty skis on but I will ask. You might be able to identify it from the graphic from a little searching online. Pretty much any alpine ski will work with a tele binding these days...

I have a question about spring stiffness: I Tele the outlaw with standard (yellow) springs... occasionally in the deeper stuff if I got to much pressure on the ski tip I feel my heel lift which of course is causing balance issues if your are suddenly both heels are lifted. I don’t wanna lean back and cause a ton of different problems... so my question is: how stiff are your springs? Pretty stiff I guess... and what is the advantage of stiffer respective lighter springs
@johns3106
@johns3106 5 лет назад
Florian Redecsy I don't use the outlaw...I use the old Hammerheads, but my experience may be of some use to you. I'm a big guy (6'5" 220#) and have "stiffy" springs on my "all conditions" skiis where the stiffer flex allows me to get more of my forefoot on the ski, resulting in more control. It is more work to flex and drop my knee with these springs though, and a smaller, lighter person may not need or want this extra resistance. On my powder skiis, I have the softer stock spring, because I don't want to stomp on my rear ski as much (nor do I need to in powder). The force needed to flex the stiffer spring in powder would just make the rear ski dive, resulting in unwanted consequences!

One thing I always wonder is why do people never land in the tele position? It makes for a softer landing and looks super cool. Any thoughts?
