Being a Christian means following Christ who is the Son of the Living God which means you believe in the inerrancy of all Scripture because 2 Timothy 3:16-17--all scripture is God breathed.

Purity is a demand made by human authority, God does transform our behavior but we still make mistakes, grace is what covers us in progress, not perfection. The jaggedness she speaks of here is the pain of getting our hopes up for things that don’t happen, experiencing loss and heartbreak and failure and pain and the tedious sense that dulling it by binge watching TV isn’t our best and in the end maybe that’s OK. We can pray and we can worship and we can pretend we didn’t fall asleep through yet another boring sermon every Sunday but we’ll still have jaggedness and sharing that jaggedness is a kind of joy we can cling to for the unity and belonging we seek from each other. That isn’t “sin” it’s called life.
What I really want is Jesus. Jesus renews our hearts and minds. Jesus isn't cool, He is Mighty to save and Holy and we are called to be set apart! Worthy of all praise is the One who came to set the captives free!

I can relate, Since I was 23 I have been on meds- antidepressants, etc. finally diagnosed with severe ADHD-inattentive disorder. This helped me understand why even working in a quiet library, I struggled to stay on task, be productive, and remember things. I have lost jobs year after year, I am now 64. If I wasn’t let go, I would see signs it was coming so would quit. Then treated for CPTSD and my faith in God, but still struggle daily in relationships because of this and jobs. My husband is so understanding. So I am thankful. I just lost another job this week. I had loved it but failed again. Even with all kinds of encouragement from office staff, until they fired me.

I can relate to your problems. Don't give up! Life is beautiful even when we loose jobs and have relationship difficulties. I know because I have suffered thru the same kind of situations. I'm praying for you! One day we'll all meet at the heart of God and understand that every struggle in this life was for a reason, a beautiful reason, to open ourselves to His love!

Why would a Christian need new age mediation? Christians are connected to each other through Christ and not our sin. And while we all sin, over time, that sin should lessen as the sanction process progresses. Scripture tells us that He who began a good work in you will finish it. If that isn't happening, one should question his/her salvation.
Sometimes we are not told how to overcome sin we are instead made to feel guilty & week & we cannot grow. The bible says confess your sins to one another. Once I heard someone else struggled with the same pattern of repent & fall back into the same sin as I did we both realized that by grace we can overcome the bondage of guilt that was hindering our growth. This is what I get from her. Nobody can be sinless by willpower alone we need one another. iron sharpens iron

Encouraging her members to break the 6th commandment, stating that Christianity is not the only way to Christ, and making a mockery of the office of the ministry? She is not a pastor, she is one of those whom Paul specifically said to watch out for.
Ms. Bolz-Weber's emphasis on grace is much appreciated but she has simply traded one heresy for another. A well meaning reactionary message against perfectionism has inevitably led her to antinomianism. She has yet to realize that it's okay that the Christian life is paradox. God's grace is meaningless except in the context of our daily struggle with sin.
Finally, a pastor who makes sense and who does not mindlessly spout scripture. Of course she has detractors but attacking her is not going to be the answer to the question of anybody's smallness and insecurity. Those answers come from calling out one's own words and actions, not those of someone else.

@@davidhofmans9507 She does teach scripture. If her interpreting scripture differently from you is your issue, you're also at odds with the hundred other Christian denominations whose pastors each think they are on the best path.

CS Lewis once said if christianity was made by man it would be made to be easy in which it is not so it must be from God. At times what she preaches is true but other times not at all with her thinking that sins dont matter that we are above asking for forgiveness and for many things like homosexuality to social norms that the bible considers either disgraceful or an abomination is wrong.
