Even if you choose to save Scrappy, the game would have had a gust of wind force you to drop him anyway, and the only thing about the story that would change is a single line of dialog in the next episode (released five months later).
I think Wolf Among Us is when Telltale really went down the toilet. You have points where the game just outright ignores your choice (forcing you to follow a henchman instead of the main villain during a chase was the biggest example). Then you have the most pivotal moments in the story where the main villain offers you a bribe to work for him, or the end where you decide to execute or spare him. If you decide to take the bribe or spare him, some other character just has an outburst before your character does anything and the plot forces you to do what it wants. That's not even getting into how they completely missed the tone and feel of the Fables comic.
It's funny how everyone hated Scrappy do and wanted to kill him off and bring the old gang back when it was just the three of them and their ratings dropped.
Bruh man, bad walkthrough . Doing this makes Scrappy come back 2 episodes later to kill Shaggy. If you save him a walker horde will kill him a few scenes later.
I saved him first time round cus I felt bad just letting him die. Spoiler warning, the end of this episode made me regret it soon as he crushes Velma’s glasses in order to outrun her and escape the monsters himself. Of course I didn’t make that mistake again and shot him soon as I had the chance in Episode 5.
Shaggy felt horrible. He had convinced his best buddy to kill his own nephew, just for the sake of their survival. Shaggy wasn’t quite sure if it was the right choice, but he knew Scrappy wouldn’t make it if they had saved him. They would’ve wasted time pulling him up and would’ve ended up trapped in the cave, and left to starve.
I’m so sad the game studio that made this series went bust. But the series really did lose its charm after its second season, so maybe it was for the better.
