Hey fun fact an achievement can be unlocked called duckpocalypse where if you don’t say anything to Kenny and he kicks you out you return to find clems Hat with rotted blood and a walker duck kills you try it t Edit: thanks for 100 likes as a content creator this means the world 🌎
"Lee murdered him in cold blood" I can most definitely say that was not cold blood. When Lilly shot our friend outside the RV, that was cold blood. This man kidnapped Clem and was going to shoot Lee, and got Kenny, Ben, and damn near everyone else killed and got Lee bit. If that doesn't constitute hot blood idk what does.
Yeah I agree now it really wasn’t that cold blooded of a thing to do. It was more just a buzz word I used in the video I agree that the stranger definitely had it coming, and Lee did technically kill him in self defense.
I wouldn't consider Lilly's murder a cold-blooded one, it was an impulsive one done out of frustration and paranoia, and she seems to show remorse for it. Lee killing the stranger, on the other hand, I'd consider done in cold blood (keep in mind I've never made that choice so I'm not 100% sure how it plays out) as in the moment he was weakened and going against both you and Clementine, so there's realistically a way out of the situation without causing unnecessary harm, especially in such a brutal manner, even if this choice isn't exactly given in the game. I don't think doing bad things makes you "deserving" of anything, no one really has anything coming, and killing someone mainly because of stuff they indirectly caused is more revenge than anything. It is still technically self-defense though, which is why I wouldn't argue killing him is necessarily immoral as much as it is just not the choice I would make personally
I actually agree. Season 2 got me very emotional. Kenny went from a character I only kind of liked in season 1 to the character I felt the deepest connection with in season 2. Spending all of that time with Kenny as Clem made the Wellington ending the hardest gut punch I’ve ever got from a game
I think I disagree that Kenny's main goal is only reaching his family when in the meat locker. If Larry turned, Clem would die too, along with everyone in there. Imo, the lesson Lee and the group learn in Episode 2 is that you have to make hard decisions and do bad things in order to survive. The episode starts with Lilly, saying that she was able to make the hard choices no one else could, and that's why she was the most fit to be leader. However the meat locker shows she wasn't all she said she was, she wasn't willing to make these hard choices. However, my Lee was and for the good of everyone in there, Larry had to go, to protect Clem and the others. I would then go on to kill Danny, but Clem's reaction reminds that you violence isn't the only answer in this world, and I spare Andy, but ultimately it isn't much better for him, he's all alone. That's imo the best thing for the story. Trying to save Larry personally, no offense, just doesn't seem too smart, I knew someone who had a heart attack, and let me say even with medicine you can end up disabled and in a state worse than death. Larry didn't even have that
It’s not really about saving Larry, it’s still fucked up to smash his head in like that right in Lily’s face. And if Lee makes the decision to throw the salt lick, you’ll see Larry is STILL BREATHING. Even if he turns into a walker, it doesn’t happen within seconds of them dying, and a walker wouldn’t be able to get up from a lying position fast enough if someone is ready to take him out WHEN he turns. Give Lily a moment to grieve and cope, Kenny could have stood to the side at the ready, while Lee continued looking for a way out. By Kenny’s logic we should have shot Duck as soon as he was bit, because they don’t know how quickly a bite turns people.
@@MaryLoveJane breathing doesn't matter, he had a heart attack, it was over. And while it's awful for Lilly, they have to survive. They have no weapons, and they have a kid in there
@@uyuyyhgghh8542 the point is he wasn’t dead, and having a giant salt lick smashed through your skull when you’re still alive is fucked up. It also proves that Kenny was over reacting, if he’s still breathing he isn’t turning. They had time to let Lily process and grieve with no risk of a walker. Like I said, Lily could have been given a moment to come to terms, grieve, and say her goodbyes. Kenny could have stood by watching at the ready for when Larry is actually dead and the whole room, including Clementine, isn’t staring at Larry’s face as he pulverizes it. While Lee and Clementine continued looking for a way out.
This game is a certified banger, it’s what soldified my love for choice based games. Though I do think that Kenny was actually even better of a character in season two than one, since his storyline was one of the only ones that actually continued. His arc seriously carried my interest for the rest of season 2 after Carver died and the Wellington endings are tearjerkers. And the game is what got me into the show (after the game ended, I was craving more TWD and got into it), and despite its highs and lows, I still think its pretty solid especially the current and previous season (10 and 9). This was long (you did make some choices that I didnt agree with and seeing footage from the Collection is kinda weird after seeing so much of the Definitive Edition lol), but a great video 👍🏾
This is one of my favourite games of all time, I loved it as an 11 year old and I still do at 20. Thank you for making this video, it was a great watch :)
Thanks so much! I get kinda insecure about this video since it was so early on my channel, but I’m really glad someone still enjoys it, it’s very relieving news lol
When I played this game for the first 1-2 times no dialogue ever really stuck out to me, it wasn’t until I actually “heard” the game through other peoples eyes and experiences that made me realize why the game is so loved
yooo this video is SUCH a huge comfort to me. the series was my entire life when i was younger and i’m getting back into it again and it’s all so special to me. thank you for this
No clue why youtube recommended me this video, but it was a great watch! I couldn't help but notice though that both moments you "like without knowing why" have other characters saying "you're probably right" :p
Telltale's TWD was one of the first games I got on my Xbox 1. I managed to complete it 100% after making different choices on several repeated playthroughs. I loved following Lee's story from when he met Clem to making sure she was safe. My favourite supporting character was, and still is, Kenny. He put his family's safety before his own and wasn't afraid to speak up when things went south. I really felt sad for him when he lost Duck and Katjaa. It was heartwarming to see him again in season two. Awesome video! I hope you do a review on season two (whatever your opinions on it are).
A truly majestic and overall emotional rollercoaster, that this series brought to its fans, I'm so glad that Clementine made it out alive. Truly one of the best series to a video game that I have ever played in my life. And there are many others all around the world, whose hearts have been touched by this game, as well as TWD series as a whole. Thankyou Telltale Games and Skybound Games for completing the series. As well as the #StillNotBitten team.
Thank y’all for the recent support this videos been getting! It really means a lot! 16 year old me would have never expected any of this. I made this video on my iPhone and while I think it definitely shows I’m still really glad you guys like it! Part 2 is coming And yes I will be covering all four games at some point, Thank you guys!
Wait.. so kenny stays behind with Ben just to shoot him? You can literally hear Ben get cut off mid sentence as kenny shoots the 1 bullet he had left and I don’t get why he didn’t just do that in the first place. I’m I missing something here, did kenny only make up his mind as he took the shot or was he just drunk from the attic scene?
Kenny wanted to try and help Ben. As he said in the bedroom while looking at the couple who took their own life he said "You don't just give up. You stick it out and try to help the people you love." He truly loved all the people that were in his group. Even Ben at the end. So instead of ditching him, Kenny decided to actually keep his word and used the final bullet he had to make sure Ben didn't become a walker(which was Ben's greatest fear), and to ensure Lee's safety to get to Clementine.
@@crypt5129he does, we just can’t see him get away But he also said he was going to try to get free Ben until there was absolutely no more time, he didn’t want to give up on him until there was absolutely no chance. Once he realizes there’s no chance of freeing him and keeping him from being bit, he uses the last bullet on Ben so Ben doesn’t die alone or turn into his worst nightmare.
I just found this in my recommended, and as a big Telltale fan, I decided to take a look at your vid. And man, this is a great little documentary, even if it has that amateur recording style and mildly corny dialogue (which kinda adds character) I loved it, keep it up! (Also, I personally liked Mark a lot, he was very chillaxed and easy going yet pragmatic, even if he was a bit shoehorned)
Some cool attention to detail I noticed in Crawford is that the walker that was hanging from the bell that made Ben fall was the leader of Crawford. You can find a picture of him the hall and they look very similar.
Anna Correa wasn’t Molly’s sister, Molly’s sister was a 14 year old girl was diabetic, and Crawford found out about this and ‘took her away’. I assume they killed her…
There is a quite a bit I disagree with in this video, such as your opinion that sparing the St. John Brothers is more "mature," but I can appreciate the passion you have for the game. Pretty good video. 👍 EDIT: I originally said "a lot" instead of "quite a bit." I felt I was being hyperbolic there in hindsight, so I changed it.
What I mean when I say mature isn’t that you’re more mature then the average player if you spare the brothers, I mean that you’re more mature/human then they are, and killing them is kinda what they want and reflects bad on Lee in the eyes of his group so i usually just spare them. It’s kinda implied that they’re doomed with or without directly killing them. But I definitely get that this game is very subjective, so I respect your opinion and you’re honesty lol
This was cool but I gotta disagree that the show is as terrible as ever. Seasons 7 and 8 we're rough, but 9 onwards have been pretty good; with 9 being imo the best season since season 3.
This is why I love choice based games far more then open world. While they are fun and gorgeous and I do like them. They just don't hit the same way and make you care about characters as much as narrative focused games like this. This game has stuck with me since I was a child. And I'm a full grown adult working and here I am watch retrospective after retrospective about this game cause just playing it isn't enough even today. Such an amazing story. Even if the sequels aren't as great as the original I love the whole series deeply. Especially the final seasons cover art of Clem in lees role. Brought tears to my eyes when I first saw that.
Man, I played the first episode of game then dropped it😅(cause of some errors in game), completed life is strange game, wolf among us and Batman telltale afterwards and then when I played this game. It was my best decision👍, I binged the game and am totally attached to it!!! 😍
I find it kind of funny that you frame 18:14 as a tough choice, but like, almost everyone picks carly, I know very few people who ever saved doug, Who wants to save a boring tech nerd when you have lady with a gun.
Embarrassingly I have yet to finish season 4 but from what I do know I’m sure it definitely could be better then the first! Season 2 is pretty good and I have a soft spot for it despite the problems I may have
Lol I was trying to be quiet when I was making this one not because I dint want people to hear me swearing but because I decided to record In the middle of the night like an idiot lmao
The pregnant woman in Crawford isn't Molly's sister, when you loot Logan's body, he has a locker code, use it on the bloody locker and you obtain a 3rd tape showing that Molly was sleeping with him to get meds for her diabetic 14 year old sister, which Logan put a stop to. Hence her disdain for him, when she returns ahe has a picture of her and you can tell her you know the truth. I think Anna (the pregnant lady) is there more to advance Christa's story as she's openly crying about what she sees. Also it seems Ben has had a renaissance in recent years as many of these video essays seem to paint him ina more positive light. I still despise him honestly, outside of Clementine, the effects of his actions potentially gets EVERYONE else killed, from the deal with the bandits to constantly not looking out for Clementine, the domino effect he causes is unreal, and regardless if you save him and even side with him, he never steps up and redeems himself.
Season 4 and Season 3 are my favorite seasons. Ive been a fan of the series since Season 1 was only one episode and ive been apart of the entire journey, S1 isnt as good as you're making it out to believe and I think a lot of it is nostalgia. Lee is a good guy who cares care of clem and thats about it. S2 has one of the worst starts to a game ever killing the last 2 characters we ended with from the previous season after seeing our Clem find them to be left on a cliffhanger, the entire season makes Clem feel like the only adult there (why is she turning off the damn windmill at the lodge?!) Every character and i mean EVERY character dies so the entire season seems pointless aside from AJ. Then comes S3, a new fresh story with fresh characters. Im not gonna sit here and lie and say theyre the best characters or story, theres tons of loopholes and gabe is very inconsistent and annoying the entire season and Kate is unlikeable by seemingly wanting to get with her ex-husbands brother in a post apocalyptic world where they think hes dead. A lot of players struggle to put themselves in Javi's shoes and play as /HIM/ not how Lee was a blank character they could see themselves as but JAVIER himself. The entire story rivaling family and what blood means and where your loyalty lies and how willing u are to do for family is so interesting . Youre challenged as Javi against David (his brother) and his kids which feel more like Javi's family and wife at this point which players dont get. Also Clem being around makes players automatically side with her against Javi's family which is so uncharacteristic since he just met her. S4 makes sense to be around kids, it makes sense to have AJ around other kids than adults (and clem tbh so she can act her age) No character felt unrealistic or flip-floppy. S1 and S2 had HELLA point and click puzzles between cutscenes and dialogue (the entire dairy, motel, train, mansion ETC that felt like a drag) S3 and S4 focused more on story and choices as the game flowed, u were getting to know the characters not doing side quests to find pink chalk. Idk i just feel like a lot of love for S1 and S2 is just purely nostalgia and not giving the other seasons a chance. 4, 3, 1, 2 are my favorite seasons in order
I disagree with the games putting the comics to shame, the show? Sure, the show is dogwater since S2 but the comics? No, I love the games but S1 was really the peak of the series, and even then the arc after days gone bye is amazing.
