Hello Sir I have a doubt Regarding the receptors.. how is the cortical representation related to 2 point discrimination??

A greater cortical representation means a higher number of nerve cells in the cortex that are processing the incoming information. Each receptor sending the information via a sensory neuron , with lateral inhibition involved in the ascending signals. All this information has to be keenly processed. A grearer neuronal population means a higher level of processing. Hence, a greater cortical representation means better identification of finer details (which is the basis for two-point discrimination).

Sir,temprature regulation according to you is neg feedback in the note but in other app it states that it is feed forward.which is correct?

Negative feedback is when disturbance DOES occur. It is then signalled to the controller, and then controller takes the action in the OPPOSITE direction, to negate the change. Look how temperature regulation works. Due to the ambient temperature, the skin temp and blood temp does get altered. For instance, we enter cold environment. Blood temperature begins to decrease. It reaches hypothalamus (the controller) which then induces shivering, and thereby the body temperature is raised. A classic negative feedback. In feedforward mechanisms, the controller works in anticipation (before the change has happened), and the action taken by it need not be in the opposite direction. If we started shivering even before entering the cold, we could call it feedforward.

Is the question related to the specific topic (temperature regulation), or related to the channel (all videos)? If it’s related to the specific topic, then yes, it is more than enough for the 1st MBBS students. The content given in the video is sufficient to write theory answers and also for vivas. So far as the book is concerned, my favorite books are - Berne & Levy, Boron & Boulpaep , and Ganong. This is in addition to the UG level books - guyton.
