Temtem even in Early Access gives you a lot of options when it comes to choosing your competitive team but one role shouldn't be ignored: support. Kinu is a Temtem that performs exceedingly well at this role and is not to be ignored if you are serious about winning. Today's competitive guide will show you how exactly you should be using Kinu, and leaving you with enough information to formulate a set on your own specific to your own team. I hope you enjoy and that this video helps, let me know which Temtem you'd like to see next! Thanks so much for watching.

At the beginning I slip up and mix up Benefactor and Protector's effects - Protector Raises the Defense and Sp. Def one stage, while Benefactor is the 10% healing ability. It is correct the rest of the vid, thanks for watching everyone!

Since we're talking about Kinu's weakness to Fire, and since it can be paired with Tuvine, I wanted to mention that putting Shuine's Horn on a Tuvine with Noxious Bomb can allow it to deal with Fire Tems wich are a threat not just to Kinu, but Tuvine itself

Loving your guides dude, good info and a very meticulous breakdown. I have also finished the main storyline (so far) and have started breeding so this info is invaluable. I really want to try my hand at the competitive scene but with it only being 2v2 at the moment I can't access it which is a shame. I really hope 1v1 and 1v2 becomes an option at a latter date.

I would be curious to see if wiplump could make it into the competitive scene at all, it does have a pretty good special attack stat. I have a luma one with pretty good SVs which would be fun to use in pvp.
@TheGamePiece
@TheGamePiece 4 года назад
Wiplump does have pretty good special attack and moves to take advantage of. I could see a special attacking set doing well, the only downfall is the 4x weakness to Electric.
@deanbarrett3225
@deanbarrett3225 4 года назад
@@TheGamePiece The Electric is definitely a weakness but I find if I pair them up and train them both in Spd, you can usually get the cold breeze in from both and freeze both opposition within 2 turns. With the lighting rod equipped on one you are usually lucky enough to survive the only attack they will get on you.
@Edanite
@Edanite 4 года назад
I'm definitely gonna work this into my eventual team. Kinu is basically all we have for this level of support and I honestly enjoy the idea of playing this side by side with a physical wall as my opening plays. The thing that I'm thinking about is if instead of tv-ing the s-def, would I throw off my opponent by investing into def. The idea is that as the game gets older Tem's like Kinu will become easier to play around as people realise their additiobnal weak points. Kinu's low def being an example. So if the boosted def can allow kinu to tank an extra hit or two while allowing it to put up the extra buff or stall with an additional lullaby. Would this tactic be good enough to unsettle the opponent, lower their confidence, and ultimately cause them to make mistakes? If nothing else I can just retrain the tv's if the tactic fails.
@fulgurobaboon1321
@fulgurobaboon1321 4 года назад
Nice video, very helpful. But you should really mention how hard temtem's breeding are, like kinu might be 80% female but its 5% encounter makes it a pain to breed For next one i suggest you go on about top tier temtems like volarend, gyalis, valash, pigepic, etc

Hello, thanks for the analysis. Around 7:12 mark you show the Base, SV, TV and Total values for Kinu. How did you figure out how much the HP and Speed values will rise with 500 TV? Is there a formula available for TV to stat conversion? Apologies for my ignorance if this is common knowledge.

No worries haha just as I was replying it said it was deleted so I got confused but anyway I definitely recommend going for perfect HP, Speed, and Special Attack at the very minimum for Kinu. Ideally everything would be 50 but those I'd say are the stats that are most important. Hope this helps!

I would love it if you discussed Babawa, which is my favorite Temtem because he looks so dopey! I don't know if it's that great competitively, though it does have plenty of resistances and is pretty bulky and has some status immunities with Mucous, which is helpful because it's slow and Attack-based, so being burn-immune is great. It gets poison, nature, and water attacks, plus some utility skills such as Slime. The 4x weakness to Poison does hurt it a lot, but it might be possible to tank a poison hit from something not getting STAB if holding a Tucma Mask?

You completely underestimate Lifeful Sap, if used right it lets your Kinu tank 70% more damage (even more if you renew it), which makes it impossible to kill, especially because you want to swap around a bit for protector swaps anyway. But hey, I'm kind of happy if I'm one of the few using that to sweep some players. ;)
