I prefer the theatrical cut and with the fullscreen framing. It was shot like the abyss so you get completely different feeling viewing. I liked it a lot but still hate that it was so quick to rush through everything and hearing it was meant to be 2 films originally makes sense

I just watched the Rob Zombie halloween today, and while there were some issues I had, i have to say that i absolutely loved it. Im all for making Michael Myers into a more disturbing character. While the original MM was definately a creepy and disturbing individual, Rob Zombie kicked it up a several notches what with the more brutal Michael, intense violence, and focus on more disturbing topics. While I prefer the pure evil, no humanity left MM, I think he managed to humanise Michael in a way that was more effective and impactful to the horror than the thorn arc ever could. The latter half of the classic series introduced this half hearted concept of there being perhaps just a sliver of humanity left in Myers, whereas Rob Zombie was displaying the degradation of an already disturbed mind into nothing but a husk containing pure evil, while hes physicaly immortal, by the end of the film, Michael Myers the person is effectively dead after his final attempt to reach out fails, leaving nothing but a human esque shape. Personally I felt that if the film had retained more of the subtle cinamatography that was present in the original John Carpenter film rather than opting for more in your face jumpscares (although some are used quite effectively), it would have been my favorite movie in the series. Definitely a solid entry to the series though in my opinion.

Rob might have hated the studio handcuffing him from doing a lot of things but if he had been allowed to do everything he wanted chances are the movie would have been as hated as RZH2!

I think it would be only natural for anyone who remade Halloween to try and give some backstory or explain what or why Myers is the way he is. And I totally get why Carpenter wanted to leave it as a stand alone film, but he leaves us wanting so much more at the conclusion of the original that they had to make a sequel. Concerning Zombie's vision for the movie, horror remakes were really gaining steam and so it was greenlit. Zombie wanted to give some background to Myers in his version. But I think that removed the scariest part, we really got to see a little too much of the kid's face instead just one quick shot in the original. For me it humanized Myers a little too much

As much as I love the really dark stuff, that scene with young Michael in his blanket tent probably would've been a bit much.. Anything like that where there's kids involved is just asking for trouble. I know some purests would disagree, but that's just my opinion.

Definitely liked the weird demonic possession concept. It would've added some much needed context to how Michael who essentially human not super natural all gets his powers essentially.

This could have been an even more bad ass movie. As usual, executives watering down the good stuff.

As soon as you got to #10, when you said "luring a 9 year old girl.." I was anticipating "Michael killed her and raped the corpse". They probably would've just shut down production at that point had that been suggested. Great video! Glad this was recommended to me. Subbed and will definitely be checking out more of your content!

I like the versions we got (which now I've found out are extremely tamed down than what Rob originally intended), but I think these two films are torture-porn (SAW, extremist French horror etc) enough as they are, going darker or more intense just would have wrecked the character and the franchise even more. I know everyone hates Rob's two Halloween films but the new trilogy is just as gory and violent, the new trilogy rips off a lot of the entire franchise before it.

Obviously i prefer the original and love all the standard sequels (except Resurrection), but i also enjoy the remake going in a different direction. Personally i loved all the stuff when Michael was a kid, and i'd have been happy with a full film of that, because for me the second half of the film was a rushed copy of the original, just with an excessively long final girl chase.

I liked the first Rob Zombie film the second one I didn’t understand. I think Rob Zombie should’ve remade Friday the 13th instead

rewatching halloween 5,6 & resurrection have given me more appreciation for rob zombie’s movies.

Wild stuff Rob definitely has quite the vision. I believe sometimes it's good he has higher ups over him telling him wait wow.. pause for a moment take that out. Devil's Rejects though I absolutely adore everything about that film.

As fucked up as a lot of this stuff is. I'm not going to lie I would of like to see this version of the film. Only because Rob has a certain way of storytelling with his film. He definitely has an art form and keeps you watching and wanting to see the next scene after the next scene.
