I would actually love to see a couple of the waterfalls tomorrow after this heavy rain we had this week. Would be rather interesting me thinks!

@@RockessentialTim That would be amazing! You would know better than me, but I bet the trail to some of them would be in poor condition. But when things dry up a little I'm going to get out there and see what's doing.

@@RockessentialTim I took my wife to Trail Canyon Falls on Saturday. It was amazing! 5 legit water crossings. With all the recent rain it was way more adventure than we had planned for and we loved it and couldn't stop smiling! Thank you so much for making this video and others like it. You are helping people more than you know. For everyone like me who tell you how much fun one of your hike recommendations turned out to be, there are probably hundreds who don't tell you. So on behalf of them, and my wife and I, THANK YOU!!!

I've heard some people call Vasquez Rocks "The Devils" Anvil. I think they also filmed the tv show The High Chaparral there along who knows what other tv shows and movie's. Tim when I'm felling homesick for my home state of California I just watch your videos and it's almost like I never left thanks for making these.

It is one of my favorite places to go in LA County. And yes, I'm sure they filmed some of that show there. Cameron Mitchell ruled.

@@RockessentialTim I watch The High Chaparral everyday on the INSP. channel. Yes Cameron Mitchell was a very good actor. Sadly only Mark Slade who was Billy Blue and Rudy Ramos who played Wind are still alive all of the rest have passed on.

A splendid vlog. One of my favorite hikes (but no means epic or even particularly memorable) is the Eagle Rock off Topanga. There is something soothing(?) about scrambling around the sandstone (?) that speaks to me...* and that little alcove at the summit

@@RockessentialTim You read my mind. There’s something about walking outdoors and hiking that puts you back on even keel and gives you peace of mind. The Ouachita and Ozark Mountains in nearby Arkansas are great places to hike and see too.

Great video Tim, just started getting out more for hikes during the last few years and found your videos super helpful for checking out the different spots. Have you done a video on Will Rogers Park? An easy one to find parking and good for the family and dogs. Cheers!

I have not done Will Rogers as of yet. I've been to the house museum a couple of times but I've never been on the hike. I will check it out. Thanks!

The best and easiest trail at Will Rogers is the Inspiration Point Loop which begins right at the horse stables.

Hi Tim. Thank u very much for great vid, and especially for finally including Trebek Open Space. Speaking of which,,,,, would u consider doing a night hike (or sunset hike) at Trebek? Can u imagine the magical sea of lights sprawling from Griffith Observatory to DTLA and then all the way to the Westside? Absolutely breathtaking!

I've done the sunset hike at Runyon and its great. Its also paved most of the way so it makes it a lot less likely for an old geezer like me to fall down and break his hip!
