Yet children, drizzling gallon purple slurpy spooge everywhere? Well socialized dogs, in my experience, receive no pushback. Dogs need to be dogs. Stupid rules often need be broken.
@@NocturneTheatre I use Alltrails but with an asterik. It gets things right about 70% of the time. There is a dude at Hikingguy.com that lays stuff out pretty well and I do check his site out from time to time.
Thanks so much for this, I love exploring LA and I had no idea you could get above the Hollywood sign, for one, and you showed me at least five. A lake teeming with turtles? I had no idea.
@@cshughes77 Right on. I'm originally from the Midwest and I have trouble with a lot of words here. It took me like 5 years to finally master "La Cienega"!
When I lived in LA in the 70’s the views were never clear and beautiful due to the smog. I realized how gorgeous LA really was one day in 1974 when I was on an upper floor in the RCA building meeting with the then Beach Boys Manager. It had rained in the morning and it was clear as can be. Totally blown away seeing such an amazing view. Next LA visit I’m definitely going to do some of your suggested hikes. 😎🎸Thanks for posting such cool videos. Makes my daily exercises go quicker.
Loving the videos as always. Man I've had so many great road trips round california. Your videos fire up my imagination. I want this awful virus to end and I'm back over. Watching you I feel I've missed so many great places over there and I'm going to right that wrong.🇬🇧 👍Liverpool👍🇬🇧
His wonderful record company, Warner Brothers made RU-vid take it down because they say I infringed on his copyright by playing "Southern Man" on the piano for 5 seconds--like that somehow is going to take away from their record sales. I have to wait another month or so before I can repost without the offending parts. Sometimes we live in a really ridiculous world.
Well I thought that might have been the case but I'm glad to hear that you'll be putting it back up soon. If you watch Rick Beato he goes on at length about this nonsense and having problems with the record companies even when the artists approve of his endorsements. My next trip to LA is in September and I plan to check out one or two of your recommended hikes. So thanks for all those great videos.....
@@parkwayclassics8443 Yeah, I've watched Rick's rants on it. He has a little more pull with the record companies than I do though! All good and let me know where you end up going.
Thanks for the video. Did Millard Canyon Falls this morning (long version). Even though it was a Saturday, it was only moderately crowded and we also got to spend about 5 minutes alone at the waterfall. The campground was pretty crowded with boyscouts, but it was just so quiet near the waterfall. The weather was great and the canyon was just beautifully lit. Appreciate the recommendation 🙂
On my only trip to LA (2018) Franklin Canyon was on my list but ran out out of time. That pond was the Andy Griffith opening and (I think) used for the iconic Creature from the Black Lagoon scene. Sad I missed it but I did have pizza at the Rainbow and saw the Canyon Country Store. I have pretty great pics of those & the Whiskey
My girlfriend I had a really fun and challenging time doing the 4 hour Los Angeles Orienteering Club at Griffith Park that launched last month. Definitely worth a try!
@@RockessentialTim it's a 4 hour challenge to visit as many spots as you can, you can do them in any order but are only allowed to use the official map and can't use any GPS. The start and end is at the Mineral Wells picnic area. You use a smartphone app to record your checkins
Wow Tim. Looks amazing as always. Hope you are well brother. We've been blessed with LA style weather this last week. Makes me miss it even more. Still hoping to make it this year and follow a few of your hikes. Peace.
You are right Runyon Canyon is the must popular hiking trail in LA. I go there once a week. But my favorite near Los Angeles is Bridge to Nowhere in spring when crossing the river represents a challenge.
@@RockessentialTim my recommendations are to go from April to June. Even the color of water 💧 looks very different because of the melting snow ❄️ and also start hiking at 7 or 8 am that way you’ll have time to go to the hidden Devil’s Gulch waterfall
