When you get down to it, this is a surprisingly deep story. There has been tension in the community of survivors for a thousand years because Demoman did something stupid during a time of high stress. After wandering alone for the entire millennium, a seemingly random series of events causes him to return to the community and he finally explains he has no real excuse for his actions. He doesn't even remember why he antagonized Sniper; he was too drunk. Sniper finally had the chance for revenge, but upon learning the feud is based on nothing of substance he decides to leave the past in the past and move towards a more hopeful future, represented here by the city on the horizon. The hopeful ending may seem dampened by the explosion of Sentry Buster, but I believe that is actually a metaphor for the catharsis felt by the community. At the same time as the Demoman - Sniper feud is so suddenly ended, Spy worked up the courage to propose to Sentry Buster. The explosion is symbolic of the sudden destruction of the survivor's old, unhappier way of life. It may be coincidence, but their chance at immortality was heralded by an explosion, so it seems fitting their chance at a happier eternity should be, too.

So in the course of 1,000 years, Spy evolved into a reptile, Medic evolved into whatever that terrifying abomination is, Scout evolved into something way less terrifying, but still uncanny, and Engie grew hair

I am now going to give a slightly in depth explanation of the "creatures" found in the first 1000 years of evolution: Spy: A small detravore that slithers along the ground in search of decaying matter in which to feed. It moves in a inchworm like motion, which provides an effective form of locomotion given it does not have perfectly functioning limbs. Once the organism does find a suitable form of nourishment, it will quickly extend its head out and practically engulf the food source in question. Slowly digesting with its weak stomach acids. If it senses danger, it will detach a sizeable piece of its body, pinching off blood vessels and detaching muscle in order to prevent a fatal situation. the piece has a chance of shrinking into a more desirable form ( baguette) , which will distract predators. Scout: These nimble herbivores are quite abundant in this apocalyptical world, traveling in small herds to raise chances of escape from predators. The species is most notable for ruff, boney protrusions on the skull cap and cheeks, which are used in displays and finding mates, of course, the males crests are much more jagged and segmented, as shown in the video. They vocalize through high pitched squeaks, which are easily detected, this is a main cause of their predation. another notable aspect is their medium sized wings, which in certain circumstances can provide a small amount of lift for a short time. Medic: Our first predator, this organism stalks around a strict territory, searching for prey. they do this by using two large feathery organs near where an eyebrow would be. These organs produce a clicking noise, due to the fact that they operate off of echolocation, their eyes can only detect light and darkness, effectively blinding them in the color spectrum. Once they do come upon prey ( usually being scouts) they will begin waving around their arms, which are colored a blaringly bright red ( or in rare cases blue.) mainly because in this new world, organisms seem to be attracted to color. Once prey is close enough it will lash out in aggression and decapitate the prey, killing them though not instantly as the body still stands after a couple of seconds. It will discard the head and consume the body. Like the scouts, medics have a unique display system in the form of a cape, which they rattle if should they detect a threat. Demoman 1: Another predator, that hunts in large coordinated groups. Running down prey, ( which can be anything really) when they least expect it. Once in range they use multiple organs on their body and "hands" to create a large blast of heat, frying prey. They will consume the corpse and begin another hunt if need be. these organs are packed with muscle, clench tight as they generate enough heat t o create the blast. due to a lack of a head the organisms way of eating is currently unknown. Demoman 2: An ambush predator which uses an organ to imitate a common species of vegetation. Once prey draws too close, it will resurface and let out a sonic boom which kills prey effectively. unlike its distant packhunting relative this organism does sport a head, though it only uses it too hunt with incredibly specialized vocal chords. So it eats through a separate digestive system, two special legs that act like straws. Scout ( domesticated): A domesticated descendant of the scout species but genetically destroyed by humanity. All it really is is a head with all of its systems packed into one cavity. all they really can do is pitifully squeak and beg their owners for food and care. They have no chance of surviving in the wild. And are an evolutionary dead end. Truly tragic....

Details I love about this video 1. The spy not eating the hotdog as it is revealed to be a spider that would use a disguise to trick animals like the spy to try to eat it and then be killed by it 2. Heaven and hells roles being swapped 3. The demoman goes to heaven, the afterlife as characters like the bird scout appearing with the sniper, suggesting he died and that he and all the others were bad people and the pyro was a good soul

The scene at 3:50 is the reason why I always come back to this video

Sniper struggling to consume his food before the nuke shockwave blasts him into the next dimension is honestly such a Mood.

To be honest, the cyborg character designs are actually pretty cool.

I'm trying to make up some uncanny poses for a drawing and then i suddenly remembered how I was watching your videos years ago so now I am back laughing at the Gmod ragdoll walks slowly playing back on ×0.5

This universal story got me more than hyped really. Not only it had a cohesive story, but also the facial expressions were both funny and realistic. The way the future, the places look, it's all a masterpiece(but not perfect as nothing is). I'm glad we still have the best RU-vidrs like you.:)

The fact that sniper's flashback begins in his eye and ends in demo's is a really cool detail. It really helps to link the characters by a shared memory. Very nice storytelling touch that i didn't expect to discover in a gmod video.
