WNC resident here. Still no power since Helene. Really wish I could use my Mach-E for power, but fortunately was able to purchase a generator. I needed help getting gas for the containers, 😂 it’s been over 3 years since I bought gas 😊 Fortunately in the meantime I was able to use the MME to recharge a small Jackery that we could use to keep our devices powered up. Power is supposed to be restored within the next few days in our area. Fingers crossed. I did use a Tesla SC to recharge the car, no issues there at all.
@@transportevolved Thank you, I saw instructions on the Mach-E forum. Great news, though, our power came back on this evening! This means our well pump can run too. We are very fortunate as there are folks in the area that literally lost everything. Our hearts go out to them.
Thank you for providing an alternative to Tesla Time News 😂. I use my EV Truck for work and it's really been the best thing EVER. So be nice to truck drivers 😅
@@ChanningChea I bailed months ago when they brought back their twitter news which has became the 'repeat conspiracy theories and hate speech without context' segment.
On the decommissioning of coal in the UK - xkcd did a comic that did the math - since the start of the Industrial Revolution, the UK has mined and burned sufficient coal to cover the entirety of the island of Great Britain in three inches of coal.
TE _could_ supply YT a subtitle file for their vids; other channels do that, and it makes the CC so much easier to read, and more accurate (and, it has punctuation). If TE went to the trouble of making the burned-in captioning, the work would already be done to just give it to YT. But, it's add'l work nonetheless.
Ok, so all I need to know is how do I log back into my JuiceBox Pro 40 to adjust my settings?! It's stuck on 16amps (which is what I last used) and I desperately NEED to get it back to 40amps! 🤦♂️ PLEASE HELP! A video on this topic alone would be much appreciated! 👏 💐
@transportevolved so after typing this I tried opening up my app again and to my surprise I was able to get in and adjust my settings. I swear the other day when the announcement came out I had no way of doing this, but as of this writing I had access so I made my changes, and put everything back at the max settings which for me is 40amps. I still would like to know how to in the future be able to make adjustments because I'm sure these apps are going away soon. A local direct connection would be all that I need. The appeal of my JuiceBox (which I bought in 2017) was that I could connect to it and make these adjustments because I have plugged into all sorts of outlets with it (using adapters) and I'm mindful of the current draw that's being used on any given outlet that I'm plugged into. 🔌⚡️🔋
@@transportevolved Correction, set to the maximum your power supply can support. Both of my JuiceBoxes are rated at 40A but since they are on a 40A circuit it would not be safe or recommended to set their maximum current to more than 32A.
If the USA cared about it's children, it would do something about gun control. Don't expect any action on truck vs pedestrian safety anytime soon... :(
My JuiceBox stopped working this week. It just refused to charge when it was connected to WiFi. It refused until I blocked it from connecting to the the internet from my router.
The Elroc is really a nice looking sensible car, i do see it more in the middle between Id3 and Id4, much more practically than model 3. keep up the good work.
for the sales data be nice to also see production data plus data on sales lots (dealer owned and OEM owned). that would tell us how fast the vehicles are selling to consumers and how many are sold to dealers or OEM sales centers.
I heard the reason German automakers were against the EU tariffs was because they were planning to build their cars in China at a lower cost and import them to Europe for sale at regular prices thus boosting their profits.
That is already being done for many years. The German automakers fear they will be cut off in China which is their largest market. And they are certainly correct.
@transportevolved Not entirely true about the Equinox EV. I was just at Chevy yesterday (Saturday, October 5th, 2024) and the dealership would be happly to sell me a 2LT Equinox EV for $43,000-ish but they say the 1LT hasn't been produced. Checking Chevrolet's website after that visit, I see that they have a placeholder spot for the 1LT in the 2025 model year Equinox EV but you cannot actully 'build & buy' it. Only the 2LT and above variants are available. Clicking on the 1LT button defaults you to the 2LT trim.
Would love to see Ms. Dearhart return and read a TEN script lol! Just straight faced, no different than usual, with the different voice, and no mention of anything being different :D lolol!
It's easy to lose perspective on how small the percentage of sales are for EV vs. total for some of these mixed manufacturers. GM: EV 32,095/Total 659,601/% EV: 4.9% Ford: EV 23,509/Total 504,039/% EV: 4.7% Hyundai NA: EV minus Kona EV 13,775/Total 210,971/% EV: >6.5% (Kona EV was 6% of Kona sales as of early 2023) Volvo Global Sept: EV 15,243/Total 62,458/% EV 24.4% BYD: EV 443,426/Total 1,134,892/% EV 39.1% Nio & Tesla are 100% EV
I'm from the Philippines. Recently a Tesla was involved in a road rage incident when the tesla ran over a scooter rider who tried to confront him. My questions are: 1. Doesn't tesla have AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking)? 2. If it did, would it prevent the driver running over a person? 3. Or could the AEB be overridden?
I think the case of Rude Tesla owners at charging stations, is because they lost their feelings of exclusivity. Especially those who got Teslas before many of the other brands had EVs, they felt they were in a special exclusive club, which they weren't and now they are seeing that.
Yes, there was a bit of that even when us Model 3 owners started pulling up at the Superchargers and the Model S/X owners had to share their private charging network with us oiks. It'll be fine, it's already normal in the UK now to see 50% other brand EVs charging and we all learn to appreciate each other. I'm happy that that the Superchargers are getting more use because that means more revenue for the SuC team which leads to more rapid investment in build-out of the network.
My answer to a disgruntled Tesla owner would be to take it up with Telsa as they opened up the chargers to other manufacturers now they need to update the cables. People need to make the best of an awkward situation, but Tesla is the only one that can really solve it.
@@Molishious On the other hand, it is Tesla's refusal to adopt an open standard when they launched their network (and yes, both CCS and CHAdeMO existed before Tesla's network, Tesla's proprietary standard is even based on CHAdeMO!). Had the network been open from the start, we wouldn't be in this mess. Look at Europe, where Tesla lagged behind when it entered the market and immediately went for CCs on their vehicles. Not, as some say, because of legal requirements, but because they saw that it was better to allow their customers to access the already existing networks, no matter how bad they were, than have their customers wait for Tesla to build out its own network.
"s because they lost their feelings of exclusivity" Totally. Those peasents in their cheap non Teslas should charge at their own charging stations from Ford and GM.
@@toddfraser3353 I think they think that they are a bit special and maybe they are right. Super Special Superchargers for Super Special Tezlaz that's swell! Seriously angry Tesla owners at Superchargers is nothing different than angry random person at the Costco gas stations across the US. They are just Karens, all of them 🤣
I’m surprised that Volkswagen will be showcasing anything ID. There are two open recalls now on all of them in the United States from what I understand they’ve halted production in Chattanooga.
I saw on Good Morning America that the Tesla cyber truck received its fourth quote recall this year that of course was fixed with an over the air update. It's funny but my PC get a recall every Tuesday for an over the air update from Microsoft and it never makes the news.
12:20 - In other words, Tesla and Musk are off the hook because "of course all our 'aspirational announcements' are BS - don't tell us you believed them". Nice.
does not meet FMVSS regulation, it's got CHYNA battery pack, vehicle is made in CHYNA. subject to 100% terriff. it will COST more to the consumer. than model 3&Y.
@@transportevolved Let's be honest, it's not really free. Ford just increases the prices or lowers the cost of manufacturing to retain its margin on the vehicle and on top you can add the many EV buyers that already have charging stations at home.
Por qué Trump no "solve" todos problemas de Americanos (ejemplo: inmigración ilegal y ⛽) en 2016-2020 antes de Presidente Biden y "VP" Harris cuando él estába en gobierno con Mike Pence? 💀
Hi Nikki and team, I still after all these years like your output but no matter how good a person is they aren't perfect! and won't please all the people all the time! I don't understand why TEN never has a good word to report on Tesla, SpaceX, boring company, Neurolink, Starlink, AI, X, or any company Elon Musk has started and is running today! Elon is like the rest of us not perfect and he is the first to admit his mistakes, but he puts first principles into practise and actually builds stuff improving on things that don't work as well as expected In the first instance. Just look what he had done for the world already! Channels that just ignore him or find anything to criticise him are getting a little wearing. Please give credit where it's due, you wouldn't have had a channel without Tesla nor so many others who promise a lot and give nothing actually. Simply ignoring it criticizing reminds of Gordon Johnson & the posse of short sellers! Elon is allowing thee truth on X but clearly not many people actually want to hear "the truth" only their truth!
As a long-time subscriber to Transport Evolved, I've come to admire and respect Nikki and her team's commitment to journalistic integrity and fairness. Those of us in the EV space acknowledge that EVs wouldn't be where they are today without Tesla's and Elon Musk's pioneering efforts. That said, we cannot be expected to give Mr. Musk and others a pass when their comments are misleading or disrespectful.
Thanks for your reply Nikki this week was not an Elon put down as such, you just couldn't find any good news to put even in your shorts about any of Elon's many companies, I mean really? Kim at Java is doing some really good stories I just watched her as a passenger in a guys Cybertruck with the latest FSD it drove perfectly over a twenty mile route. I would like to see you and your team test FSD I respect your opinions! Why can't you do any reports on his other miracles? You might get more views.
First, Elon isn’t a god. He doesn’t perform miracles. He’s a man. Second, Elon is just the owner/CEO. His team are the ones who do the heavy lifting. Third, we’re a news outlet not a PR agency. Fourth, Tesla could have one of those… but it fired its PR team. ;) We always cover stories that are important. We mentioned Tesla Cybertruck FSD rollout. We mentioned the cutting of M3 RWD. We covered the court case Elon won, and one he lost. It’s not our job to paint a company in positive or negative light. It’s our job to report the news. - Nikki
Your not listening Steve, I don't hero worship anyone, you have to give credit where it's due, Elon has done what was thought impossible in so many disiplines.I hope he doesn't burn out or some nut job gets to him. It doesn't matter how unpleasant arrogant or rude, you think he might be, it's what he achieves and the well paid jobs he creates for hundreds of thousands of people. The 1000's of millionaires he has created. I guess you missed out on buying shares ?
