For as long as I could remember, I had a depression that stuck with me wherever I went. It took every ounce of my being to crack a smile, and hide my demons while they were eating away at my very soul. I saw this on Netflix one day, and since I never saw an anime, I thought What the hell. After the first episode, I felt something reemerge from the depths of my being (Happiness, and determination). It shocked me to my very core. This show incited such a feeling of greatness, that I couldn't help but be excited/smiling. After a long binge, I had fallen in love with this song. It showed me that even in the most darkest of times, there was a light that would show the way. The show itself, had a morality to it that mirrors my own to this day. One day, I began to memorize the song to be able to sing it one day. To this day, I still have this song engraved in my soul, so I can repeatedly (Pierce The Heavens) This anime taught me how to believe in the you that believes in yourself. Gurren Lagann Has changed my life, and from the bottom of my heart........Thank You Edit: Holy shit! All the replies. Thanks for the support, it means a lot! I remember finding gurren lagann shortly after I lost my dad and grandmother, people who I was super close to and honestly, couldn't live without. I didn't know what to do. Call it corny, but simon was the only character I can really say I related to in any anime I've seen. The way he dealt with loss and how he came back from it. I felt that dude. Its been about 6 years since I watched it for the first time and im going back for my 3rd run lol. Good fucking series, probably my favorite
