It's possibly a policy thing and maybe a safety issue. Policy that players cannot move the bench, safety that the umbrella cannot be in front of the bench in case a player runs towards it and can't see the thin pole... Or something. Sport safety stuff is not always totally sensible as they err on the side of hyper caution.

i would have rather moved the umbrella in front of the bench but it would have been the same outcome xD

I agree with you. Two ways of transmission, through the air by breath and the other by touch. Eliminating one is better than having both. By breath is a higher chance of transmission so I do understand the protocol of not having the ball kids too close.
