I like to focus on the position of the forearm at the end of preparation: it should be parallel to the sidelines (03:52). This allows the shoulders to turn naturally. Keep the left eye in contact with the ball and the left foot should at least be 1° forward, not pointing completely to the left of the court or worse to the rear. Then concentrate on the position of the entire arm at the end of the stroke: parallel to the baseline with hand at shoulders level (04:59): when viewed from above the arm makes three quarter-turns from end of preparation . People who struggle and have no power make less than 3/4 turn or have their left foot pointing to the rear of the court.
