Incredible lesson, thank you! I really appreciate the tip about looking at the ball. One other aspect is the timing if hitting the ball that looks a lot clearer from the above view

Excellent points about the ball contact point and head position are vital! Thank you.

What a great way of learning the proper technique of both variations of a backhand shot! My slice desperately needs improvement and I can already see some things I will try out next time on the court 😃 Thanks!

Great stuff. I was surprised how close to the body is the contact point on the topspin shot.

Great to hear! Here's another comparison between the topspin and slice backhands: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q5Ex1uJCtUI.html

I like to focus on the position of the forearm at the end of preparation: it should be parallel to the sidelines (03:52). This allows the shoulders to turn naturally. Keep the left eye in contact with the ball and the left foot should at least be 1° forward, not pointing completely to the left of the court or worse to the rear. Then concentrate on the position of the entire arm at the end of the stroke: parallel to the baseline with hand at shoulders level (04:59): when viewed from above the arm makes three quarter-turns from end of preparation . People who struggle and have no power make less than 3/4 turn or have their left foot pointing to the rear of the court.

Amazing video, could you do one for the serve? Pin point, platform, ball toss and where it lands inside the baseline. I'm super curious! Thank you

The large step forward seems very important - which is probably why I feel a lack of power

Exactly, similar to forehand the legs should be wide open
