Great tip to everyone that hits against the wall that i've never heard elsewhere... Try and actually hit like yo are trying to get the ball in as if it was on an actual court with a net. With some practice and skill yo can pretty easily know if the shot against the wall would of been in or out on a court (Based on how high and fast yo hit the ball and the amount of topspin... Doing this makes the wall insanely good practice (reset whenever yo hit it long/out, yo should be able to do give or take the same amount of balls on court).

Man this wall is what I need! Even a basic brick wall with some space would be good but honestly theres nothing around! I'm completely new to tennis and just want to build my confidence up before joining a club potentially.... Are these kind of walls only at Clubs/venues that you're aware of? I wouldn't mind even driving 30 minutes as its no different to going to the gym for a workout.

Google handball courts in your area. I found a great outdoor wall that way.

Dylan, can you please tell me what kind of wall this is? Who makes it? It wasnt too loud and the ball seem to elevate off of it Thanks! H C

When I practiced with the wall, the balls bounced lower and slower than real rallies. Does anyone notice the same thing? Any way to make it faster, more like real ones?

some walls are designed to give a tennis-specific, higher and more realistic bounce...some are just planks of wood or slabs of concrete that give lower, more irregular bounce rhythm. adjust your timing and footwork accordingly. if the wall sucks, dont be worried about taking it on 2 bounces

I don't mean to be too critical but what you are doing is not "all abilities". I am searching for drills to do on a wall for a 7 year old who is a tennis beginner and not able to do things like smash the ball down in a way so that it bounces up and they can smash it again over and over. I was a Division 1 college tennis player and I'm not sure if I can do that.

Yes you are correct, not all the exercises are for all abilities. To make it more appropriate for a 7 year old you can do a self feed for a smash and catch the ball with the off hand. Working on the smash/ serve and the tracking of the ball with the off hand. Hope this helps

I am smth like 2.0 or 2.5 and managed to do this exercise easily 8-10 times per one rep after first ever attempts. Actually it is one of the easiest drills as for me. Much more difficult to practice forehand with the wall, after years of irregular practice I can't make more than 5-7 stable fh or bh shots. One of the most difficult among this list is approaching the wall drill which requires everything - good balltouch, footwork, ground strokes and volley, timing, vision and confidence - I still struggle it.
