Haitian people are some of the nicest people I have ever met in the US, and Japanese people are also very nice. Naomi is a decendant of two beautiful cultures: Haitians and Japanese. She is so lovely .
I can not imagine that her parents built a school in his father hometown even when she was not a champion and many endorsers how much more that she is a millionaire now ..God Bless the Osaka-Francois Family ..Love love love...
I'm glad this piece was done because in general the tennis media seemed all to willing to avoid mentioning her Haitian background. During interviews at the US Open she had to remind them that as a child she'd spent a good deal of time in NYC visiting her father's Haitian parents.
Her Japanese grandparents weren’t accepting to her till she won. Haiti didn’t have a tennis program so to get Japan to accept her, she used her mom’s maiden name.
a lot of news and media don't mention her black side because it won't get as much clicks. By saying only her Japanese side it gets way more views and clicks because its a surprise. But if they mentioned her black side in the title than it won't get as much because people would think its normal. On youtube if u look at the comments where they mentioned her black side in the title, a lot of blacks say "look at her black genes" and things like that excluding her Japanese side. Japanese people will think of her as Japanese, while blacks will look at her as black. Not all of course but a lot
@F0RG1V3N Im saying if you hear a Japanese person talking about her, they will most likely refer to her as Japanese because they themselves are Japanese. The same with the Haitians when they talk about her
She is representing Japan yet, some Japanese say she is not Japanese enough and not welcoming her gracefully. Haiti is welcoming her with everything they have...Japan....don't take her presence for granted....Much love to Noami
Am I the only one that wish if we had more celebrities like Naomi Osaka? - beautiful, tallented, classy, well disciplined and well spoken - such a lady
"Feel free to express the joy, what you feel when you win.." I laughed when the photographer said it cause I knew how awkward it would be for Naomi to do so. She's so sincere and down-to-earth. I loved her explanation that she couldn't smile on purpose, when others ask her to
Milana Maricic yeah I think it's in your makeup and Naomi is an introverted character and so when you are told to "express the joy when you win" is awkward for introverts as they aren't extrovert in their expressions. Introverts find it hard to outwardly express themselves to others and if you keep your emotions hidden, you're not going to do something like Naomi says like throw your racket as it's just not in your character.
I know and to hear her APOLOGISE for winning the US Open just shows how she doesn't place herself greater than anyone, despite her talent. But it's all in the upbringing and who you surround yourself with. If you are around people who keep you grounded, you will be grounded too. If you are around people who put you on a pedestal and tell you how wonderful you are and how much better you are then everyone else, you will be arrogant.
Yes! THIS Is an example of great talent by an extraordinary young woman! As I view her performance, I give Thanks to her parents and family who have supported her so far! Naomi, may you and your family continue to go from strength to strength with lots blessings!

Cute! Anyone notice she acknowledged both heritages when she accepted the award. She first bowed her head (Japan) then kissed both cheeks (nod to Haitian/french roots)
@ Flavius- Watching Osaka since she made her entrance into the WTA and seeing her improvements year after year, I expect that we will see her lift more trophies, GS trophies, to be exact! Naomi Osaka is no fluke!
Go my Haitien-Japanese girl.So proud of you.GOD bless you He makes you smart .Always, give him thanks raise up his name.Accept Jesus like your personal Saviour and continue to be riche.Blessing of God make you rich
I love Naomi bazillion times more after this. You are an amazing example not just as an athlete, but as a human being. I really wish I could meet you someday Naomi, much love from your avid fan in Indonesia. :)
If we all can remember to give back where we are coming from, I think world will be a better place, Specially thank you for NAOMI OSAKA and her parents for looking back at home, May God continue blessing NAOMI OSAKA and people who are giving back to their community
Hats off to you Naomi! You’re an amazing person in and out! You’re definitely a great example to the young ones! More success to you and stay beautiful as always in and out! Cheers!
I won’t boast or show off that I am a Japanese, it’s ridiculous. I like Naomi for who she is and not for her nationality. It does not matter. But I am grateful for her keeping bond with Japan, though the story is that USTA rejected her when she was lot younger, resulting her parents had endorsement or supporting arrangements with Japanese tennis gear producers in stead of US. This vid shows that she keeps her bond with Haiti, too, and I am grateful for that since I do like music of Haiti. Then again, it is the US environment in which she grew up to this point. Nationality does not matter. Personality does matter. Oh, congrats Naomi and her team, and her family.
In every sentence she speaks she raises the voice at the end into a higher melody as a hope for further deliverance. That's the magic she has. And so she plays. A real new star is borne. Wonderful.
Osaka...you are a very loving kind hearted soul ...your work and support of others shows your God goodness in this world ...blessings to you and all that you do..you have a humble but huge heart.and Jesus See's your beautiful strength.
She is very well composed and grounded, which is a good thing in the modern tennis world filled with drama. A cool mind makes you win those critical points and execute those precise shots when you needed. You can still tell she is passionate about tennis deep in through her drive and determination! Go Osaka!
Japanese here. Probably Haitian people love Naomi Osaka more than Japanese do. She is financially supporting to build schools and sports facilities in Haiti, that I admire and am proud of.
hope Osaka has plenty of good people around her that she can trust. Such an ambassador for tennis, sports in general, and racial issues. Her answer when asked about what was the message behind the masks "well, what did you take from it?" was not in a tone of anger or defiance, but to open up dialogue. We can all learn a thing or two from her. 👏👏👏👏👏
Just think she has so many more awards and championships to win, love the young lady so innocent so humble very athletic on the court, keep winning Osaka!!
she's awesome my fave womens player and now shes won the Australian open just after the US open ...only player to win 2 grand slams in a row sinse Crapratti in 2001
The photographer is trash. It's your job to make her feel comfortable, and it's your job to make her smile. If you can't do that then you don't deserve to be around celebrities. Just stick to a mall photo booth.
Naomi is what woman's tennis needs. A blend of strength and femininity similar to that of the great Steffi Graff, will attract lots of fans. She is lovely.
Really what you meant to say is she is your compromise. You can erase her blackness by whitewashing her thus making her acceptable as America's princess meanwhile it was her Haitian upbringing that made her the champion you desire but all to willing to forget.😳
@@jadeforest1363, not at all, I see her attitude as totally refreshing. I actually think darker skin is far more attractive than white skin so I am not sure why you say "compromise". She is wonderful and is a great ambassador for both Japan and Haiti. btw I am not american, I'm from Australia.
@@glenswada because you made sure to mention her femininity in order to slight specific women who you think look masculine without calling names. Whether you ate Australian doesn't matter. She is shy it does not equal to being feminine. She has the same athleticism about her as thd name you won't say.
@@jadeforest1363 If you try to find hatred in everything, your heart will exist in that hatred. If you try find love in everything, your heart will exist in that love. The path you choose is your choice. Skin colour is just a pigment. Some girls are naturally stronger than others. Its all okay. If we all were identical the world would be very boring.
@@jadeforest1363 plz keep Serena ou this. This is Naomi's time and era now. Even Serena recognize this, albeit not graciously. Hell she even threw that match with Pliskova once she found out she was playing Naomi. How can u lose 5-1 wit the match on your racket. And dont give me that foot fault, ankle bull shit. Cuz its all bullshit.
Her life as a celebrity is such a contrast to what we see of others, so much "bigger" than tennis. Simply amazing that she can be so humble but still be a tour-de-force on the court!!!
