I adore Tim Curry in this. I have been watching this movie every Halloween for years & years thanks to my children who insisted I watch it in the mid-'80s after seeing it at their grandmother's home on HBO I think. They knew I love musicals and Horror movies.
This is the definitive version, Tim is masterful in this. The bits you pointed out "rouynd" (round) "Souynd" (sound) (is it possible Tim was the first to sing in cursive?!) and "Transvestide-uh" (transvestite). You seemed to hear that one differently, with a hard "T". An absolutely legendary performance
Tim deliberately exaggerated his English accent because he thought it would work, AND IT DID. He made a LOT of us a little confused about our sexuality at the time. He was SEX on LEGS in this. He WAS the show.
Tim Curry's voice was absolutely stunning in the song "I'm Going Home" from this same movie. However if you'd like to hear Mr.Curry's voice perfection, check out his stage performance of "The Pirate King" (1982 Royal Variety Performance); it'll blown your mind.
Tim Curry was perfection. I am convinced he wore the bustier underneath all costumes for the rest of his performances: Cardinal Richelieu, It clown, Legend, Clue,Thornbury, etc. Just think about it.
Drew Carey does a Rocky Horror dance off against a group of Priscilla Queen of the Desert fans in the street in front of a midnight movie. Shouldn't be missed.
As and old Rocky Ho, soon to be celebrating the 40th anniversary of my seeing it the first time in a theater, I relish seeing first time reactions to the songs, the movie and to Tim Curry! I have to say, I have never seen a goth smile and giggle so much and it was refreshing and BEAUTIFUL! I subscribed so I can watch your joy and mirth as you hear each new song
He said originally he was going to have an East End working class accent. One evening he was going home from the rehearsals on the bus and he heard a very snobby women talking to her friend. So he copied her voice
Tim Curry is absolutely divine as Frank N. Furter! 🫦 Gotta do the Time Warp, too!! This cult classic made $226 million at the box office! It is the longest-running theatrical release in film history! 👏👏 🫶
I’ve seen this movie legit over 100 times I’ve played Columbia before and I never notice the laugh when he was getting up from the chair. You’re amazing!!!!!
Brand new to the channel... 12 seconds in and I subscribed 😂❤ ("This person and I may not share any interests, but I already know they get from that frustrated exhale" 😂😂) Edit: You look like a BIT of a "nerd", so we likely DO have overlapping interests ❤
Take a look at Tim Curry in the Sylvester Stallone comedy "Oscar". It is a very special movie, totally unlike any other Stallone film. A classical farce where Curry plays a linguist and expert on dialects. Great to hear him using his voices perfection when instead playing a nerd. He is amazing in that role.
Nearly 50 years ago I went to see this cheap production in a condemned cinema on the Kings Road. Prop wise little more than a tin foiled covered garden fork end, tea tray, torch, and Brad and Janet pretending they were a car. Went to see it a few times over the following 12 months thinking it was fantastic but would never last in theatreland. Thankfully I got the last thought wrong
