Our family did an over night at Angelus Hut 4th Jan 2023 - was going to stay another night but mist came in and never went so we went back down via Speargrass. The camera walk setups must have added a few km to the trip but appreciate the effort :)

new zealand is a blessed with some magnificent landscapes. in my opinion, it's up there with switzerland, which means it's the best in the world. quite an adventure. great effort. thanks for making this video.

Nice vid. Not sure if anyone mentioned but from Morgan Hut to Durville Hut you should cross the river where the ridges come down rather than hiking up each hill. Will save you tons of time and effort. PS My mate Noel shot that deer. It's one of our favourite hunting spots.

Great content love it...... new subscriber from Niagara Falls Ontario...... just letting you guys know that our up is you're up to you are 100% not upside down on a spinning ball lol...... when I flew to Australia at no point did my senses tell me I was upside down in gravity is only buoyancy intensity when something is heavier than the air around it it falls we live on a flat stationary enclosed system not in space stars and moon and sun rotate on top of us..... why the Moon is upside down in Australia is because the moon rotates like a wheel believe it or not..... we are intelligently designed reality of Our Truth that has been hidden from us God bless you both

That was an EPIC trip. I loved the B-Roll snips like heads popping outa tents etc. Anton is good value with Victoria a trooper. We got to Upper Travers on night 2 after visiting Coupla hut first. I had to watch this in 3x 20min slots as life is too busy for an 1hr, so I think you’ve found a way to boost your view rates 😂 Well done to you all 👏👏👏

Great video, I tramped some of that area in the mid 1960's. Brings back wonderful memories. Not so many huts in those days. We had to bush-whack our way around the west side of Lake Rotoroa. Best wishes for the future.

seriously enjoying watching your vids! I did the Nelson lakes about 6yrs back, incl another valley where we crossed the Moss Pass. St Angles is a great hut new hut, but was riddled with mice at that time. Now, there were faaarrrr too many mice there. Raiding packs and jumping onto beds and squeaking loudly all night.

Thank you for these amazing videos. I'm from the States and have been on two tramping vacations to NZ and planning a third. Nelson Lakes is one of my favorite parks. I just want to suggest a trip you might enjoy. From Hopeless creek Hut up sunset saddle then over the ridge to Sabine Hut. Then up Mt. Misery. You could spend a few days up there, lots of ridge to explore. Then back out via Sabine hut and sawgrass huts. I call it the hopeless miserable route. Thanks again

You mentioned not being quite match fit for this walk... But the way you both nonchalantly flipped your packs onto your backs at Blue Lake in the morning didn't look too unfit at all! I guess they were a few meals lighter than when you started, but still, impressive. I usually match my pack hoist with an old man groan these days. Enjoyed the video - it brought back some good memories for me.

Really enjoyed your video. I did the much shorter St Arnaud - Lake Angelus - Cascade -St Arnaud last year and those were long days for me (at 72) but so much of your Day1 and 2 brought back great memories. Have been thinking about Travers-Blue Lake-Sabine as a loop so the rest of Day2 and Day3 are great background for that too. I think I will leave the Waiau and Durville stuff to you younger folk! Great achievement both physically and artistically. Respect!

New subscriber here. I found your channel as I was scrolling tramping NZ videos. You brought back memories of my youthful tramping in the 1970s, especially with the weight of the packs. Ours were regularly 27kg + 😅 I'm now in my later 60s and still love tramping - aiming for TA next summer 24-25. Your videography is excellent as is your narration. So relatable! This was sure an epic adventure! I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Anton running down the scree reminds me of how we did that inside the crater on Mt Tarawera in 1975. 😂 I have the exact same boots as Anton in the women's version and they're amazing. Great clips guys. Tenting away from the intrusive atmosphere of huts is worth the effort, and you have a more complete experience of our back country. My week enjoys a 12kg pack. Try a Magnesium cap' or two after a hard day to avoid cramp, and I really appreciate you displaying your intended route.

Another epic journey, headed down to Richmond Range in and around Lake Chalice in March. As usual Doc times done by 21 year old without a 25kg pack 🤣. Think you guys should invest in 1 walking pole, reduces weight on legs by 25% and maybe invest in a Garmin Inreach Mini 2 to keep you on track 😊 Thanks for the great effort in recording your adventures.

Fantastic tramp you 3, I never did the D'Urville, Thompson in Winter though, when stationed in Forestry in Hamner, did Clarence an East Sabine. Great attitude, and food (whew, what Cost0!. I like your music background. Fantastic Route. Hope your knee is better Victoria, you are a trooper. Like all your GB trips, I lived there for some years and played with the trails from the Tasman Sea to AT in the East, just right. Keep it up.

Your first day was too big for a first day. Your second day was too big for a second day. This trip is better if you leave Angeles to last. Day 1 Rotoiti to Travers Saddle. . . Day 5 D'Urville to Angeles via Cedric Ridge. Day 6 Angeles to Rotoiti by Robert Ridge. If the weather plays up and you cannot do Robert Ridge, you have the less exposed Cascade route and Speargrass route to chose from. If you need to cut the trip short you can go out Rotoroa. A terrible pity about the shot of the moon over Lake Thompson.
