Best review & insights on the Mandello yet! I ride a Norge 8V & would be tempted to get the Navale edition. 👍

Without a doubt the best sports tourer I have ever ridden, I needed to find something to replace my now aging Triumph 1050ST Sprint that was a bike considered the best in its day. This takes all that was good about the Sprint, adds fifteen years of development and technology and puts it all into a package that seems set to give relaxed touring. What you get is deceptively fast bike 8n a practical sense the brakes, handling and torquey motor result in you looking at the speedo that is indicating far more speed than you intended. The passenger reports are very positive with the comfort of the seat, foot peg position and amount of room being the highlights. I do not regret on penny of the extra money spent buying the S version just for the suspension, the quick shifter is good going up and OK in the top three gears going down but in the bottom three gears on the way down just forget it ! But the gearbox seems to be getting progressively better over the miles so may be I will revise that statement. As to this road test, it certainly captures the heart & soul of the bike, I would encourage anyone with half a mind to enter this segment of the market to take a road test, the bike sells its self after half an hour on fast twisty roads.

There's a huge difference in price In your market - $4k AUD - between the base and S models. Here in Canada the difference is only $2k CAD which makes going for the S version a no-brainer.

Nice review. What about the pop-out wingy thingies, do they do anything or is it just a gimmick ?

In the cold of March in the U.K. they seemed to work, but it’s not a game changer.

This new engine should have a E motor in the rear wheel ( or in the gear box) and acuu's in two side boxes so it whas a hybrid motor for the future !

You seem tall, what's you heigth? Im asking because the v100 seems really small/compact

Hey mate, I'm 6 foot 1 so kinda tall I guess. There is a taller version in development which is built on the same platform which we believe will be called the V100 Stelvio.

@@INFO_MOTO There is also a high heated accessory seat available from MG which is 20mm higher. I have ordered that as I am also 6-1.

Nice but problem is same pricing as Aprilia Tuono RR & Factory and you get 50% more hp.
@markellott5620
@markellott5620 Год назад
HP is irrelevant, 115bhp is more than enough. Torque and agility is what matters in a sports tourer. If anything, it's under-priced, given the R&D involved in creating a new machine from the ground up.
@DukeOfTwist
@DukeOfTwist Год назад
@@markellott5620 I do Tour on my Tuono to Twistie mountain roads but also enjoy 1/4 mile Drag Racing running 10.7 @ 135 Mph and 1/4 mile Roll Racing running 8.3 @ 149 Mph. So I get the best of both worlds a Super Tourer for the same money. Don't get me wrong 120ish HP is fine with relative pwr/weight for agility like you said but its also a 10% heavier bike than a Tuono. Horse for courses I guess but at that price plenty of other choices with more bang for your buck.

@@markellott5620 Plus, you could ride the Mandello all day and not need back surgery afterwards...

@DukeOfTwist I would never buy a sports bike and i have no interest in racing it, drag or otherwise. The riding position on sports bikes is far too extreme for me, and I prefer more sedate riding. The Mandello is perfect for what I want. Three of my bikes have a similar power output and similar weight. Oddly enough, no one has ever suggested that the Indian FTR should have more power... Having stepped off a BMW RT, I certainly don't consider this bike either heavy or underpowered. As I said, power isn't what matters here, it's useability. As for what you get for your money, it's pretty much what I expected for a premium sport touring motorcycle. Slightly more than the Indian and much the same as the BMW equivalent. Ultimately, it's down to what floats your boat. It floats mine. Whereas I wouldn't give the Tuono a second glance. Just as well we all have different taste and the market is diverse enough to cater for that.

@kingkrimson8771 indeed. Its not a sports bike and you can't really compare it with one.
