As a bisexual, I’m not mad at the fact that a bi pride makeup product exists. Bisexuals are over 50% of LGBTQ+ community, and we consistently get erased by being defined by the relationship we’re in, and we experience discrimination from both gays and straights. The other letters are also important, but it’s ok to let bis have our own thing that’s not just under the generic rainbow IMO
As a dyslexic, who also is doing a PHD in literature, that Charlotte Tillbury word salad has me all layers of triggered! I feel like my soul is being pulled in multiple directions! It's dragging me to hell!!
I was a MUA assistant on many shoots of makeup product photography- most of the artists I worked with would have to use different products than the one advertised to make it look good or work on the models, whether it was bc it didn’t work on their skin tone or the product just sucked- I learned to never fully trust product photos even if they’re “unedited” 😬
Charlotte Tilbury is SO inconsistent when it comes to their packaging. Sometimes it's absolutely beautiful, like the re-released Lovegasm palette I just picked up, and sometimes it's bad enough that I write an email to complain and get a partial refund, like the Hollywood Architect highlighter or whatever the hell it's called, which not only feels super cheap and plasticky but also came with the highlighter pan so shoddily glued on that it rattles whenever I pick it up and soon started spinning around in the case like a record. Goddammit Charlotte, you made me feel like a Karen demanding to speak to the manager over disappointing makeup packaging of all things, and I don't think I can ever forgive you for that.
5% percent is 4% percent more than the usual. Rare Beauty pulls only 1% of their sales into their charitable fund and they're painting themselves as the mother Teresa of Sephora for it
I LOVE the Tepid Takes video! I look forward to them so much! It makes me laugh so hard! Your facial expressions are priceless!!! I work Tuesday- Saturday, so today is my Monday. Thank you for making my Monday so enjoyable!
Yeah... When I saw that Pat McGrath photo, I was like, "ColourPop-Barbie collab?" And tbh I think I'd be more interested if it was, because Pat McGrath isn't where I go for plasticky, kitschy fun. Not at that price point.
aaah so nice to see you like this! I have been watching every single videos from you for the past 2 years now (and binged watch most of the previous ones before that xD) Love your vibe on this one - love the fun and healthy dose of sarcasm, and particularly like your makeup today! and this blue striped shirt is EVERYTHING! ☺️ x Mai
I'm definitely in the same boat as other PML fans with how the brand is becoming less unique, less of an innovator or leader, but I'm also pretty interested in grabbing one of these blushes after seeing their performance on another creator. Idk, I'm a sucker for a cream blush as it is and the quick buildability despite beginning as sheer would be a nice contrast from all of the super pigmented creams and liquids in my arsenal Also I PRAY that Marc Jacobs Beauty is making a comeback, the bronzers and lipstick in No Angel are some of my HGs 😫
Just wanted to note re: DM Chrome Flakes! Mine are going good a year later, you just have to keep the little circle covers it comes with on so that the cap actually seals when you cover it. Otherwise the moisture will escape and dry it out
Ahhhhh I want my Marc Jacobs bronzer back lol. And yes! I love the the spreadsheets 😂 I just referenced your skin tint one the other day. I also want to mention how much I hate that cheap pat mcgrath packaging. Like utter distain!
I bought the armani peach blush and oh my god, it is phenomenal!! If you get the new makeup by mario just peachy, layer a bit of the armani on top for a sort of fairyesque glow!!
Not sure how much this actually matters, and feel free to take this with several grains of salt, but my understanding from someone who works at/with Supergoop is that those SPF lipsticks are a direct response to Fresh reformulating their tinted lip balms to NOT have SPF in them anymore. The Fresh lip balms were really the only non-drying, significantly pigmented, higher-end lip SPF on the market, and once they no longer had SPF in them, they left a MASSIVE hole that Supergoop rushed to fill (read: the first iteration of their lipsticks might need some tweaking). So I'm not sure how well the formula will be, but I know they basically want to be THE name you think of when you're looking for that type of lip product, the way Fresh was at one point, so there might be more products down the pipeline in this vein.
Oooooh the Hourglass is calling my name 😍 The "hard-hitting truths" line made me giggle on my drive home. It was a bad day, so making me crack a smile in traffic is really saying something. Thank you for the entertainment!
I am livid about the danessa myricks release. I'm queer and cis, but my younger sibling (17 y/o) is nb trans. I have to look at the 300+ anti-lgbtqia+ laws being made every day, I have to see all of the hates crimes being committed on trans youth, but I will never stop him from living his life outside the house. Instead, we have to keep up to date on which states in this country are even safe for him to be in. My mom is getting married and her bachelorette party will be in Tennessee. I'm staying home in Wisconsin with him. The fact that they released a "bi-pride" shade and are only donating 5% is a slap in the face.
Yes, I agree. In these times, if they released a trans-pride shade and donated a higher percentage and featured trans creators, I would be 100% HERE for it.
@@tharzanne why non-binary and transgender? Non-binary doesn't believe in boy/girl dichotomy, transgender is obsessed with being the opposite of their biology. How does that work?
Dior is changing the formula, though. They are removing the talc. They did the same thing with the quints. They are reformulating the Backstage Face & Body foundation, too. Dior is slowly reformulating all of their products. We can only hope that they are better or at least not worse. The quints are worse.
@@livin4jc3 I agree. I tempted to hurry and buy a bottle right now. The old stock is still on the shelves. I did that with the Soft Cashmere quint. Hell, I am considering buying a backup of the pink blush from Ulta. Sephora has the new formula already.
@@livin4jc3 it’s already out … haven’t seen in person but reviews are showing very very very dark shades and it’s super glowy ……🙅🏻♀️they did this to my beloved Lancôme too. I’m still in denial and using the last bottle of the original formula .. it’s really hard to find products that work for me for base. I’m Uber picky
@@rosemartin4398 Eww. I saw that the new one is coming on Sephora. I can't do dewy in Florida. That's the whole reason I liked the original. It was super long wearing, natural, and lightweight.
@@livin4jc3 the one you tuber I have seen review so far lives in Texas and it was so shiny and oily looking by end of day .. I think it’s because all these new foundations are loaded with way too much skincare that the pigments break down throughout the day and you’re left with skincare and not makeup . It’s so frustrating and makes it’s super hard to rely on products anymore ..
I was surprised you didn't include kiss of pink in your last face swatch video, if only for comparison. I don't think I commented, but I do love when you go way deep on a shade or a color. Thanks for all you do to keep us informed & educated, love your channel & love you.
Not defending rainbow-washing or the donation amount, but Danessa already released a rainbow "Pride" shade. Maybe she'll continue to release new shades in that vein. 🤷♀
While this is true, I find it in extremely poor taste to release ONLY a bi-pride shade when trans people are under such blatant attack right now. And 5%???? That feels unacceptable. But obviously we're all entitled to our opinions, and this is just mine.
Your breakdown on the parts of speech was very HLP-esque! I totally dig it! 😂 I really love the videos when we are all up in the weeds. It’s so interesting to compare all of these products and brands and how similar they are! Even though they’d like to trick us into thinking otherwise!
The Dior blushes are already at my Sephora and I swatched them …. They are super light. Very faint pigmentation like the other 2 which I use but I was surprised the new ones are so light …. 🤷🏻♀️
Kiss of Mauve looks like a DREAM! Kiss of Pink is one of my favorite cheek products of all time-I have used the absolute crap out of it since I bought it.
Hahahaha I cannot handle the Bi-Pride Chromeflakes! For me, that was the weirdest release this week. (But when Danessa comes for the makeup-loving lesbians in 15 years, I'll buy them I suppose 🤕 lol)
As much as I hate to ask someone to spend $500 for my entrainment just your reaction to the Dyson straightener makes me want a full video from you on it.
I bought the MELT anniversary palette before doing the math, even though I probably would have anyway, even though the palette looked suspiciously vacant. Lovely, but vacant. The round pans are 1g product vs. almost 2g in the other rectangle palettes - Rust, Gemini, etc. Hence, the vacuous spacing of the pans. So the math is: basically, same price; 1/2 the amount of product. Well, sheeeiitt. They swatch entirely different than other MELT rectangle palettes and the stacks for that matter - buttery, creamy, deliciously smooth, and pigmented -- both the mattes and shimmers. Stunning. I think they are round instead of the traditional rectangle because that is the shape and same size as those, hard pass, mini palettes they recently released? That said, upon a quick Google, the formulas of the older palettes are entirely different, especially if you go back to the 27 palette and it's ilk. Whole heartedly agree the MELT palettes lean dark and densely pigmented, but....for science? For curiosity sake? For fun? For educational purposes only, don't ya kinda want to play with it, Kackie? Okay, maybe not for algorithms' sake, but for the curiosity of you and your audience sake? .....it would make an alluring bedroom on ya, just sayin'...
To be fair I think pat has been reducing her price for new product releases , her newer release quints and bronzer were competivly positioned in high-end spectrum not luxury. And the blush sticks are $29, which is cheaper then ABH ($32) and nudestix ($35😮) , more expensive the milk ($24) .. obviously I don't know the price per grams , but overall I think PMG is pivoting target audience, the frequent sales are another way.of doing that ? I wouldn't be surprised if they had a total rebrand in coming years. I said all that to say I'm also not interested in this release 😂 it's too late, I'm already cream blushes out, I won't even be able to get through the ones I have before they go bad.
Yes, I do think the issue is that it's not as lucrative to be a luxury brand and she is slowly trying to transition to being a mid-range-to-low end brand. That and the neutrals are better for the bottom line, of course. It's just weird that that's not Pat McGrath's aesthetic or approach as a makeup artist.. the brand and the person it's named after are quite divergent at this point 😔
I’m sure someone already said this but they changed the Dior blush formula. Sofia Sees Beauty compared them and I swatched them in stores. Both were disappointing to me.
Hi, I have been debating purchasing the Victoria Beckham priming moisturizer vs DRMTLGY universal tinted moisturizer. I don’t know if you’ve used the DRMTLGY one. I know you love the VB one. The DRM One has sunscreen which is nice. Do you use VB as a primer or moisturizer or both? Do you use it in the evening when you’re not applying makeup?
Intellectually I know that it is net-a-port-tay. I know this. But my brain reads: net-uh-port-er every time. I am not sophisticated and someday I’m going to say it out loud that way and be very embarrassed.
"men aren't supposed to wear makeup" my dude, so you think that women ARE supposed to wear makeup?! Because if you're coming from a conservative standpoint, I don't think sky daddy wrote that into the plan either
Looks like Charlotte Tilbury and Pat McGrath package designers got together….. and said let’s make some Dollar tree packaging 🙄. What is up with this and for the price oui
I bought the lightest one of the Mario ..”barely blushing “ it’s ok 🤷🏻♀️I’m not saying it’s not cute it’s just similar to a lot of my other shades of blush … I might get the pink one too
