I like how it says "inappropriate" instead of "mismatch" when he looks at the big girl at the bar. As in "Yeah, these would definitely fit, but you'd attract too much attention".
That "Take off your clothes" line followed by grabbing the dude's hand was so funny makes me appreciate and respect this movie even more after seeing Genisys and Dark Fate more than once
I remember James Cameron talking about how he didn't want humor added to something that's not meant to be humorous, which is why he deleted that infamous "smiling scene" in T2. I guess Jonathon Mostow (director of T3) didn't get that memo.
Honestly, to me, I also think there was a lot of scenes in T3, supposed to be humoristic, which didn't fit the movie, that sunglasses thing for example, I also think there's no such place for goofing around, for a movie like terminator, but though I think it's funny..! To me, the only good terminator movies are the first and second, that's all....Other terminator flicks, specially with fucking chris bale, were useless to the story, and funless....It doesn't feel like a terminator movie, but just a commercial shit....(with bad acting, though bale is a good actor in other character roles, but definitely not, as John Connor...)
"chill out, dickwad" or when the terminator shoots that guard and goes "he'll live" or "please insert your stolen card now" i always found smiles in. granted that humor isnt....this but T1 and T2 had its moments of humor, whether Cameron wants to admit it or not
A lot of people say this scene is an example of why this movie was awful compared to the first two, but despite my agreement on this movie's bad mark on the franchise, I do actually like this scene. I mean, we've seen Arnie's Terminator confront people, attack them and take their clothes in an intimidating way twice already, so repeating it a third time would probably end up being a little predictable and mundane. The director must be aware that the audience knows the drill with these scenes by now, so instead they went for a more comedic approach. The Terminator still acts emotionless and intimidating throughout the comedy, so it still works realistically. Treat it as a sort of parody of the two previous scenes of its type and it's enjoyable. Of course, a better option would have been to just not make a third Terminator movie at all, but whatever.
ThePlamzJoker But when he takes the clothes, bike and glasses in T2 it was very comedic in the bad to the bone moment. Making it camp and stupid just tarnished the movie. Like you say though the movie should never have been made and was pretty dire. Funny how Genesys is getting the worst review of all the movies. The franchise died after T2!
Retro rube Ultimately agreed. I guess I'm only defending parts of this movie because I watched it more times than I should when I was younger. The first two movies will always be the real ones.
How he knows people leave keys there, he is not Uncle Bob, his learning algorithm wasn't turned on, Little John Connor didn't tell him about the keys, this scene makes no sense and is a cheap attempt in nostalgia.
Fun fact- this scene is a callback to an incident that happened on the set of T2. A woman happened to walk in on the bar scene, not realizing that a movie was being filmed, until Arnie walked in wearing only a pair of gaudy shorts (explaining the patron's reactions). when she asked what was going on, Arnie joked that it was male stripper night.
It really wasn't a bad Terminator movie at all. Was it as good as the previous 2, no. I think they could've casted John better. And the silly attempts at humor like the glasses he puts on at first and the "ladies night out sign" sort of took away from the environment that the first 2 set up. A very serious, borderline horror like environment.
I love this movie because this is the first terminator movie I saw. A lot of people hate this movie maybe because their first terminator movie is 1 or 2. Anyway, we all have our own thoughts.
liam blaney Yes, that's why that scene was also poor because it was done for the comedy. I think I heard it was Arnold's choice, it was a very bad one.
@@TimThomason Even so, it still sucks pretty hard. Not crazy about Dark Fate, but it'd be hard to pick between this or that if I had to sit through one, lol
@@infinityhand6569 Dark fate was actually the first decent film since T2. Granted, it wasn't as good as T2, by no absolutely means but I was shocked by how good it was. Right up there with the 1st film and obviously far above the rest.
Best scene in the movie, my favorite. I loved the clever humorous subversion of the classic T2 scene. The writers know of audience expectations, we've been there and done that, and instead spin it with some humor, with the Terminator crushing the star glasses and choosing something more "appropriate."
Indeed I do, James Cameron leased the rights to the Terminator franchise a number of years back, which I think runs out and returns to him next year or so. I could imagine a re-boot of the films, directed by Cameron and starring a different actor than Arnie, could be interesting...
Im pretty sure when he put on the starglasses his vision didnt change at all since the terminator has red vision and the lense color of the glasses was red
Every Terminator Movie is entertaining in its own way: The first: Horror The second: Action The third: Comedy The fourth: I'm Batman, I mean John Connor The fifth: Nostalgia back to the 80s The sixth: A mix of everything (except Batman)
I don't know why there are so many negative comments about this movie. you guys are really stupid for disliking this movie, it may not be the best but it still kicks ass and Arnold is right for doing this film, especially this scene. these are one of my favorite scenes just like the past films. I would've acted like them girls too and start throwing money at him
At 0:58 you can notice that the video was speed up a little by how the woman on the background twitched, so that it looked as if Arnold moved his head in an abrupt, "robot-like" manner.
I've always wondered, why do Terminators always go for Leather Jackets and Jeans? Why not just a regular jacket and casual clothes? If anything, the leather jacket and shades makes him stand out more.
Well if a guy dress up with leather jackets and pants like those biker gangs, chance are people would be "think twice" to messing with you, a terminator always prioritize their mission first. If there's Any unwanted things or stuff came to them, their priorities would "messed up"
@@bananas_5856 But you'd still stand out more like a sore thumb. If these T-Series were actually on a covert mission to kill John Connor, they would have just picked the right or at least a convincing disguise. This is why the T-1000 was still the deadliest of the T-series, because not only can they mimic human behavior to a convincing degree, they can also pick the proper disguises to infiltrate into their targets. Like how he managed to be in the Police force long enough for him to reach its target.
