Terminator FPS was called terminator resistance. Which Angry joe didn’t review even though it was made by the same company that made the Rambo and robocop games. They even made a nod to the “he’s a man not a god” line. Pretty funny.

Not gonna lie... the fact its a survival game on steam .. in early acces and no gameplay in the trailer even though its suposed to come out in 7 months ... is a bit iffy

It does seem like they are going for a mr x approach with the terminator being a singular enemy that hunts you down. This is a concept that could work for a single player, story driven experience. But not an open world survival game.

Joe, as a fellow Terminator fan I am telling you: You should totally revisit TERMINATOR RESISTANCE. Is really really pretty awesome. So much so that I bought it, downloaded and finished it in a few sittings because of how awesome it is. It has very good game mechanics that reward stealth and crafting items to fight the robots. Yes it has red plasma weapons, BUT it is explained in game that the red plasma is later developed into PURPLE plasma which is basically a form of compressed red plasma twice as powerful. And you also can hack Skynet plasma turrets and bases to defend you. You start with regular weapons which can destroy some small HKs but do nothing against T-800s. Later on you get the red plasma guns and the awesome purple plasma ones. You should play the game again. Is so good I unlocked each and every medal up to platinum. I usually do that only in games that I really really like....

Terminator Resistance was pretty decent in my opinion, good gameplay, variety in weapons and enemies, the story was interesting. And it had multiple Terminators, you could kill them pretty easily with the correct weapons and preparation, it even had some giant robots that I don't remember the name of.

Terminator Resistance. Played it very recently with updated gameplay and graphics. Was very good, the DLC was fantastic!

The last time Nacon made a Terminator game, it was pretty good. It sounds like with this one, the Terminator is gonna be a sort of Mr. X type monster, where there's only one of them but it's constantly coming for you and it's invincible because maybe the humans don't yet have the proper weapons to be able to destroy Terminators. That's my guess.

If the game is indeed set almost right after judgement day then it makes sense that there is only ONE terminator. Yes this sucks but at least makes sense. You will have robots galore but probably just the "regular" robots and just regular vehicles and what not. This is RIGHT AFTER judgement day, Skynet would not have developed their own tech at this point but taken over humans tech. I'm not saying it's cool but it makes kinda sense

Terminator Futureshock, and Skynet were fun fps games for their time.

I think it should get tougher as you add more to your base. Always start with a Scout Terminator, then escalate from there. Kind of similar to Wanted Levels in Grand Theft Auto. And as long as the map is huge. It's too bad we can't yet get a 1:1 scale of Earth in every game if it calls for it.

I just want it to be canon that the Human mimicking terminators were unique fairly rare machines. There were thousands of other machines built on assembly lines but the infiltrators were new and not around for very long before the end of the war.

I can't wait to fight the spider bots and one single Terminator.😂 No one wants a future war Terminator game with lots of them that would be too awesome and fun.

Maybe t-800s without skin are being refered to as "machines" as well, but there will be one solo t-800 that is skinned up needs to be detected and reacted to, like having a k-9 unit to help detect the solo undercover terminator. Wishful thinking i know.

Those still game images are absolutely the IN-GAME story telling mechanic. I doubt there is cut scenes, i bet money those "concept art" images will be voiced over and used

There needs to be a "Helldivers" Termiantor type game. Resistance vs. Skynet in the future war as seen in Cameron's films and Terminator 2: 3-D ride.

I think Generation Zero is the ideal Terminator game in terms of gameplay, so hopefully the developers go in that direction.

In the lore of terminator 1 it's stated that 1 terminator is practically impossible to kill. To be true to the lore by having multiple T100s you are dead there is no fight, humans alone against one are doomed especially before John conner starts the resistance

I think Joe should give Terminator Resistance a second chance. Playing on extreme difficulty and disabling HUD markers and minimap will make you feel like you're really there, and it's scary as sh!t

Far cry 3 blood dragon looks more like a Terminator game than this game

There where other models of robots before the T-800 and because this is early in the war maybe there's a limited number of the "terminator" model but an abundance of the "proto-terminators"

All that waiting from the initial CGI trailer just to get another CGI trailer telling us mostly nothing and a release date for early access. Fantabulous.

Maybe one terminator will be indestructible like the alien but it works for the alien

I think you should be able to "capture" them in a way and have them work in your base. you could be able to control them make them do certain task or fight other people. each machine could have things that only certain ones are good at. I think that's a neat original idea.

I have a feeling that this terminator is the earliest one. Skynet is resorting to machines probably resembling the T-100s at first, and the T-800 series, the Terminator we're all familiar with, is just getting its start here.

It would make sense it being only one Terminator, if its true right after judgment day then the world would just be filled with skynet machines while a single Terminator time traveled back from the future to go after john conner. Terminators didnt start being made in mass decades after judgment day.

@AngryJoeShow i wish there be PvE mechanics of capturing resource/production sources like oil>fuel production, to share between survivors on frontline, and those ones who use fuel for welding/repairing stuff. Plus mechanic of hacking stunned/not fully destroyed terminators to make them fight on your side, by physical swaping chips or just decoding from some connectin, to maybe balance hardcore gameplay.

I'm really hoping that all the scenes with a bunch of people fighting an individual Terminator is just one of many types of encounters. Ideally I'd like to see a world like that of Terminator Salvation, where in most places you might just find one wandering T-800, but other areas are more fortified by Skynet and have entire bases and hunter-killer patrols. I'm seeing a gameplay loop where you and some other low-geared scavengers team up to take out a T-800, then take its laser weapons and use it to take out others, until your crew has enough Skynet gear to take on an actual outpost.

If you want a taste of lasers. Darktide has lasguns. And Rtx lighting. In the dark.

The way I see this and I hope this is the case, is that the one Terminator is brand new and a prototype of Skynet. As the game goes on you discover that Skynet are going to be creating more terminators as they are proven to be effective.

Watch it be a Terminator reskin of Friday the 13th. One person controls the Terminator hunting the resistance.

Timeline wise, I think this would be pre-Terminator: Resistance, pre-purple lasers, probably about the exact same time as Salvation. Even one T-800 Terminator is pushing it as Skynet should barely have a prototype at this point (the one that gives John the scar), unless it comes from the future which is plausible. I'd guess that you build your base up and collect survivors, get missions from young Kyle Reese, deal with the human bandits, then eventually encounter more of the early Skynet models as you help unify more survivors. The Terminator is just there to eliminate you because Skynet considers you to be a vital part of Resistance history, and Kyle helping you kill it at the end gets him a position in TechCom. Standard Terminator stuff, I'd expect.

Remembered Cyberpunk 2077 and The Day Before? Yeah, I do! Because this trailer brings back those bad memories like no tomorrow. When a trailer only show interview and early look but not the gameplay or something resemble it then thats a major red flag right there. I am tired of this Early Access BS, just finished the damn game before charging customer money. 😂

To this day I still don’t understand how (after T2) you can fuck up a franchise that is so clearly rich in potential storytelling, world building, and character development and it’s been nothing but an absolute fucking joke ever since.

what if it is multiple T800s but you are targeted by the actual terminator and he is tracking you down the entire time you are online so you have to keep moving

Hard pass on this. It isn't hard to make a survival game with Terminators walking around; so I'm not sure why they went down this road with the ONE Terminator.

Human v. Human Early weapons before purple lazers. Think Terminator Salvation

Fairly disappointing. I feel like this isn't a "Survival" the way the genre is. I think its more of a "Survival" in that you have to struggle to survive, which is an aspect of the genre but isn't what defines it. This is likely to be a major dud.

I clearly heard he man say "Terminator" - SINGULAR, as in ONE Terminator. I read the Steam page, and it sounds like Skynet has dispatched a Terminator to kill YOU.

I think that Terminator Survivors being a survival game with a single Mr.X type of threat ( or like the Alien in Isolation ), is a breath of fresh air and something that's actually never been explored in this series gaming wise, and would be really interesting considering that there are now successful precedents to make that happen. Surely those who LOVED the fist movie are more likely to like this game( if done well), while leaving the Future War settings for other developers to take the helm on that aspect, with yet other devs taking on the even larger scale that, say, an RTS can give. This is how a IP such as Terminator should be approached: different developers, each with a different approach, not overlapping, not saturating and finally EXPLORING what the franchise can offer...

Just play the automoton missions in Helldivers. They basically have terminators lol

I am surprise you missed the two posters in the artworks: Cyberdyne.... We are the Future..... Plus there are references to a Riley, WH Gas store, CALIFORNIA.... This is going to be heavily close to Judgment Day doom in California and the fight in the western USA beginning. If they borrow from the Now Comics' adaptation along with Dark Horse ,IDW(or was it Dyanmite) Marvel, there will be more easter eggs!

At this point id rather just helldive, they should have an interactive map that you can overtake areas from TERMINATOR(S) plural, and build bases to establish upgrades and whatnot instead of a ship and have a story alongside it.

How cool would it be if you had to recruit other human npcs, but you had to pick them wisely because they could terminators in disguise

I grew up watching my dad playing Future Shock, might've been my first FPS aside from D°°M. What i think could be fun is that the Terminator is another player-controlled thing, imagine the levels of stress when you know the machine is just as smart as you are instead of relying on AI-programming (ironically) to chase you down. Something is very strange however, they say its around 4-5 years after J-Day, which doesnt make sense as to why a T800 model seems to be the hunter model when Skynet didnt have those until way later in the war. Unless they plan on having the 600 and 700 series be "elite mobs" and the 800 is that "Mr X stalker unique" variant. Also makes sense why Skynet wouldnt have laser tech yet and seems to be shown using only "modern" weapons but even if it doesnt work with the time line, it would still feel very off NOT to have them.
