@Deandre Robert i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
When I saw the bumblebees I remembered about how they actually unhinge their wings in the cold mornings and that helps them heat their bodies so that they can pollinate the flowers way before the other bees...I saw this on nature ...very interesting ...you have such a wonderful show...thank you for sharing
Allen, Through our years together, I have learned so much! I am transitioning to perennials, backdrops of green and silver textured bushes, less work and getting on my knees. Great information. Thank you.
My garden is all about deer resistance. Finally we have a garden not suited to their taste. We grow lots of Walkers Low catmint, spirea, coneflowers, Russian sage, Penstemmon, Agastache varieties (love the lime one) black eyed Susan, Veronica, buddlia, blue geranium and thyme. We fought the battle for ten years until we got it right! We adjoin state gamelands. Thank you for the tour.....just breathtaking!
I think I might just do the whole veggie garden in Russian Sage. 😃. I added it to the four corners of the veggies, but I might not be able to control myself. I can just see it now..a couple vitex in the middle, Russian Sage, lavender and catmint all around the rest of it! The bees will LOVE me! I can just put the veggies in pots. I did peppers and some tomatoes and peas in big containers this year and honestly, I think they love it. They are just thriving. Thanks, Allen, for all the incredible inspiration. My husband thanks you too. 😉😉
Thank you so much for the tour of the beautiful, beautiful garden!! All the hard work and dedication really shows and the results are amazing!! Love seeing all the varieties and combinations throughout! Such an inspiration!! ❤️🌼💚💮💛🌸
I purchased a mystic spires because of you. And I just took out a Mexican sage. They get too big in zone 9. Considering taking out the Powis Castle because of size. People need to pay attention to mature size of plants if planting space is not big.
Beautiful as always! Love the agapanthus. So pretty. I would love to have your garden. I have watched you transform your farm over the years and it is gorgeous. I am so glad you are on you tube now so I can watch you more often. Hopefully I can come see your beautiful garden next year. Happy gardening!
This was indeed a grand tour. The garden is quite impressive.I have the artemisia plant (powis castle) and the leaves are a great accent to my small front yard garden.Keep posting. 👍💕🌼🌷
The tips were great. Thank you. I came to the farm years ago when you were just building the rose garden. The luncheon was Special, as was the entire full, elegant 💐Day. Lives in my memory as one of the outstanding pleasures 💝. Need to return in fall🙏. Be Blessed
Another lovely tour! Can't wait to see your gardens in fall. I get so many ideas from your tours. I especially love some of the old fashioned varieties you showcase since they have really proven their worth over time. Even though I garden in a completely different climate (maritime Pacific Northwest), I always learn something useful from your videos!
Thank you for offering the perspective of the overhead shots. Too many garden tour videos focus only on the blooms so one misses how it all fits together. Your garden is breath-taking! What material do you use for the pathways? You have a new subscriber! Thank you!
Oh my, the last vista with the fountain, agapanthus and vitex - wow, just awesome! Discovered you only recently, and now I cannot get enough! Thank you - from Quebec, Canada :)
Another beautiful tour, thank you! I love the blues and purples with silvery green. I planted three salvias in my front garden and the new spires are no longer purple, they sort of just stay yellowy/green. They get full sun and I live in zone 7a. Might they need a more rigorous watering regimen? I would appreciate advice in how to support these lovely purple plants. Thank you!
I enjoy your garden tours, my question is: when cleaning up / dead heading do you just leave the cuttings on the ground , is that beneficial or is that cleaned up later after filming?
14:25 How do you maintain control of the Fig tree's root system. The roots are known to travel long distances, becoming an invasive nuisance. Which Fig trees produce the best tasting fruit?
Thank you for sharing your craft! Is there Any ONE fertilizer suggested for encouraging blooms on mature Knockout Roses and 1 yr old Encore Azaleas? *bone meal* ? *Potash* ? I used Hollytone in late March; then a 10-10-10 Flower fertilizer in early June.
Been looking for something to plant along my driveway that won't block the sun of some other established plants I have further up the hill. That Shoal Creek Vitex is stunning and may just do the job!
Ruth Narendran not every year. Just make sure you are feeding them well. When they begin to outgrow the container, then is your opportunity to divide them out and soil adjustments.
I'm such a neatnik that I just want to clean up those salvia and butterfly bush with all of the spent little spikes. Those wouldn't last a day in my garden.
Your show is so overly produced. I wish you would talk about how to plant a terraced garden for the home gardener. I could do without the musical interludes. I guess I’m saying more substance. I love seeing your place.
