We've given Terrain Tamer's 3950GVM upgrade for the Toyota 70 series a good run over the last couple month, notching up around 5000km running trips in the Victorian high country fully loaded with and without a camper trailer on the back. Springs and a sway bar along with TT TGS shock absorbers.
Springs are Aussie made good quality springs that carry the heavy loads with ease, the TGS shocks are what I would consider a mid range shock absorber, similar to the Old Man Emu sport shocks for comparison. Not al shocks are created equal, this is where the big difference is in a mid range and hi end suspension set up on 4WD. These shocks, you've got to say they're pretty good for the money. Well valved and can control the springs and weight without any worry. Good ride quality and handling is what you want when paying for after market shocks and these do that really well with fairly plush ride socking up rocky tracks and roads as well as corrugations with grounded handling on the road. Not bad for the money!

Nice work, its hard to buy heavy coils for my old 80 series I run 600kg constants but would love 750 to 800kg constants

Yeah pretty hard to find coils for that sort of weight. You can get custom coils in Australia from companies like Kings Springs (nothing to do with the cheap super centre stores) then there’s mine spec springs, whether they’re heavier than 600’s I’m not sure.

@@moontours9071 I went through Dobersons springs I wanted custom coils and was prepared to order them, but they said they had some 800kg ones so I bought them and when they come were exactly the same as I had for 5 years 680kg coils, just pooed on the little bloke again. Love your shows

Weren't you saying that the Koni shocks are the best you have tried out?

How does the ride /handling compare to the parabolic springs you where running

The parabolic springs are a different ride, a little softer, a bit more springy but you can’t get them on a 3950GVM upgrade….yet. It’s good mid range kit this one if you need a GVM upgrade.
