In this video I'm painting and finishing the dystopian industrial terrain piece I started in Part 1.This build would be great for Necromunda, Warhammer 40k, Horus Heresy 30k, Kill Team, and any other sci fi or industrial setting game.

During the building phase, I honestly thought this piece looked like crap. There were too many different textures, but when you black bombed it... WOW!!! And the industrial green paint was a stroke of genius.

The Malgor my wife is the same... it can be hard to see past the crazy colours! She always thinks what I’m making is terrible until its painted

It wasn't just the wild colors (although they were quite garish), it was all the different materials you used to make up the floors and such not. I had to go back and re-watch the first vud to see how it all came together.

Just genius!... the strength of your concepts with each of these successive pieces is incredible, there are so many pictures online where you can see someone has used a pipe elbow or a CD container or a coffee cup lid etc but your build and painting techniques really disguise the materials you use and make the finished piece so believable and authentic!... Inspired man.. truly inspired 👍👍👍

I’ve got to be honest, this is amazing, I just watched another channel where the guy (with a much larger channel) struggled to build something unbelievably basic, and basically showed the hardest way possible to build something fairly easy, not really helping the viewers, it was lazy. then I watch this, and the 1st segment, and I’m just blown away by how good this came out, you basically show how with imagination and some random parts you can take all sorts of things and make something frigging epic. Really nice job man, seriously

I’m not sure exactly who you are talking about, but generally speaking I think some of the larger channels commit to posting at regular intervals for algorithmic purposes and channel growth. I admire this consistency immensely, but also sympathize with them because for me, that would likely cause issues with burnout and quality control. I also struggle to do certain things that may seem simple to others at times. Not every video is going to be a home run, this is true of every content creator on RU-vid! I like to judge people by their best work, and the big channels are big for a reason...because they have put out tons of awesome content over the years. I appreciate your comment though and am really glad you have been enjoying my videos!

If you want to improve the quality of your home made washes, add a drop of Jet Dry, the stuff you put in your dishwasher to keep your dishware from streaking.It's super cheap, can usually be found at the dollar store, and acts as a flow aid. I use it in all of mine and it does make a nice difference.

Fantastic centerpiece for your table. Looks great with catwalks going off in all directions to other pieces. Also, you gotta get yourself a can of burnt sienna spray paint. That's a lot to do with a brush! Cheers Mr. Eric!
@EricsHobbyWorkshop
@EricsHobbyWorkshop 4 года назад
Shane Flickinger the cheap paint i use is pretty thick with a rubbery sort of medium. This allows me to do some impasto-like texture and fill minor gaps if needed with the paint. The hard part about these builds are choices -each decision uses mental energy. Painting everything one colour is basically done on autopilot while watching tv with my wife or something, so it uses almost zero mental energy. On the flip side, I would need to take a rattlecan outside to spray. Long story short, I’m not likely to switch over in the near future! I appreciate the thought though.

I enjoy your videos. A suggestion if I may. Regarding your wash, it may flow better if you add a surfactant, a chemical which reduces surface tension of water, you can buy these, but a drop or two of dish washing up liquid will do the trick. It improves flow and reduces wash clumping and collecting on flat surfaces Regards.
@EricsHobbyWorkshop
@EricsHobbyWorkshop 4 года назад
Adrian S ahh yes, surfactant is one of the cool words this hobby has taught me! i think i did add a drop of dish soap I just forgot to mention it. Anyways, I’m gonna cook up a better batch of wash to have on hand using some acrylic medium and stuff. Thanks Adrian!

Your eye for shapes and breaking up bland areas is immaculate, and seeing the progress on this build was incredibly inspiring! Have you ever considered doing a video on sourcing all these crazy bits? I'm sure it is partially an acquired skill browsing dollar stores and thrift shops, but a video on looking for certain shapes and items would be awesome I think. Keep up the great work! This one is another absolute homerun! I have to admit I was most excited for the build video last week, expecting the paint portion to be less exciting, but it was not the case at all! The masking fluid and paint job turned out amazing, and you really kicked it into high gear when you showed the screen glow effect, and the free-hand graffiti was excellent! Some ideas for patron content, set up a gallery or Pinterest of the reference photos you use, maybe a video on how to do the layered graffiti on a miniature scale, or pictures of the specific paints you use, I'd especially like to know that gray-green one! Oh and the new mic sounds great! You are improving so quickly, you'll be at 50k subs in no time.
