This Terran was a God when it came to scouting, spotted the proxy pylon building, spotted the stargate as it just started, scanned the third base 5 seconds after it started, spotted 2 carriers and a fleet beacon, this guy knew everything
The Mothership play was so utterly, groundbreakingly, unreasonably, mindnumblingly wrong, I don't even dare to call it stupid. It was a plan conceived in other spheres of logic and understanding, that mortal minds can not bear. It wasn't even A-moved... It flew in, spotted the Army and then just went ahead and fucking died 😂 I'm just sitting here imagining Artanis standing on the bridge of that Mothership, looking at the orders to close in, then looks at the 5000 Vikings in front of him, then looks back at the orders and goes: "mhmkay"
Haha that was so funny! The scouting mothership was epic. What a good strategy. @harstem challenge game: rush to mothership “scout with it” sacrifice it. After that you can kill/attack you opponent however you want. You can do a build to make you survive early game pref with a star gate I guess.
That scouting mothership was just the best thing i've seen in a while xD I can only hope that pros copy that shrategy so we can see that one day in a WCS match 👍
That scouting mothership - sometimes I like to make a mothership, fly it around the edges of the map and mass recall a full army into my opponent's main. It usually gets a gg, even if I would probably lose, because they panic. Maybe that was his attempt at that? I'm really surprised mass viking didn't crush those carriers. Probably due to overkill? Would liberators be able to do it? Less overall damage, but they can deal with interceptors well. I guess the other option is a shitload of marines, which can pop the interceptors, and a few vikings to chase the fleeing carriers? I dunno, I'm a shit Terran.
@@BrEAcHxROWDY you can have vikings target fire carriers and liberators A move and given that carriers take a while to offload interceptors you can sometimes run a ball of widow mines with drilling claws under them and blow the carriers all up terran has so many different ways to deal with carriers
I've always seen a carrier as a flying barracks that produces flying marines. The advantage for the carrier is that it's mobile, but the barracks doesn't require gas. So if you think a carrier is OP, then so are marines by the same logic.
I wonder how many vikings it would take to beat a mass carrier army if they are never micro'd to target fire the carriers and just auto-target interceptors. Hundreds? A thousand?
the terran didn't even focus the carriers with his vikings in that last big fight.... Which was strange, considering that he had done so in the first one at the toss's 3rd base.
Well, markers indicate that he did focus carriers but seems not with vikings. Guess he had few different command groups and he for some reason grabbed only one of them...
i've seen him several times losing to a protoss after constant sieging and resieging of liberators but sooner or later the protoss finds him unsieged and a-moves him to death and as a viewer you think well if he can't do it, who can. Seeing Maru being eliminated in 2019 several times in early tournament rounds by protosses and even getting clean sweeped by trap or stats isn'T motivating either.
upgredes dont help i had all of them and what unit composision u think works ? thors and vikinges are the strongest there. btw i lose even whit 7 torets in the main faight.
look at this: terran builds 2 units which primarily counter air. Toss just builds one single air unit. And wins with a move across the map. for low elo this is just unfair. Toss requires way less skill for low elo it seems.
viking only requires starport with no tech lab, and 2 of them cost less than 1 carrier combined, meanwhile carrier requires fleet beacon in addition to stargate. Terran lost because he lacks very basic game fundamentals such as macro and upgrades. Protoss meanwhile was spending his money much more efficiently throughout the game, he is a better player and therefore he won. If you think terran should have won simply because he built a counter unit, that's ridiculous.
Is it silver League ? I'm starting zerg ... How do you counter a skytoss ? Mass carriers (mass coruptors) ? Mass void Ray (mass muta) ? Mass tempest (mass coruptors) ? And with help : Infestors useful again carriers and vipers again muta or void rays ?
Infestors and vipers are your force multipliers. Carriers? Yoink them into a small hydra ground army with vipers, and then if P commits to a fight, neural half the army, fungal the whole lot, sit back at zero APM and watch the protoss destroy themselves. Come out of the battle still at 160+ supply and laugh your evil zerg laugh. Protoss probably has an advantage in lower leagues because in an A-move vs A-move fight, airtoss is very strong. On the other hand, against zerg spellcasters late game protoss is at a huge disadvantage. But that means zerg gets the upper hand through micro. Not crazy hard micro, just spellcasting, but that's still micro that Z has to do to win, and P does not have to do to win. So unfortunately you're going to have to micro slightly better than your opponent, fungal the clumped void rays, neural a few carriers, yoink a few carriers into hydras or corruptors, if you can. But if you can do that, no protoss late game army will have a chance. About the only thing close to imba in SC2 right - if anything at all is imba right now - is Z vs P late game. Arguably T vs Z (battlecruiser harass) as well. But mostly it's how easily Z stomps late game P.
@@allmhuran Allmuhan is tottally right but his solutions are pretty APM intensive, i would thinik usable in higher leagues. If you are starting , just a-move fights I would say you are mostly right : mass corruptors against mass tempest and mass carrers (i have seen enough hydras also take down carrer fleets). Against void rays im not sure really. Before patch i would say hydralisks would make short work, but now void rays can go really fast and can just avoid hydras. Maybe your mass muta can get the job done, tough mutas are fragile as hell.Or maybe hydras with infestors fungal growth to keep them in place, but it again gets a bit more complicated then...Aslo just before the fight or as harass ,even in lower leagues, vipers with Parasitic Bomb can really help, I would assuem your oponnents in lower leagues will have a really hard time splitting the army.
@@firestarter000001 That's a really good point, parasitic bomb might be the best ability to move through the lower leagues. Yeah it's a spell so requires a bit of micro to cast, but it forces the opponent to do a lot *more* micro than was spent on the initial cast. So if micro is a limiter in lower leagues, a small amount of micro spent up front from Z can force a large amount of micro from P, which should imply a win for Z.
OK OK OK Harstem, they always suck cause you never get an IMBA report from Stats or Neeb against Dark or Serral, but this is a pretty clean cut case. Yes, he sucks, he's probably high Bronze, Gold if he's NA. But that's not really the question is it? I mean yes he said 3500MMR but he probably misread 350 but does it matter? If the game is balanced the other guy played better right? Not 'good', but better, right? Cause Protoss made a unit(s). Then Protoss found the even bigger thing but that one... , it died cause it was all alone. So he sent the other ones, the funny beehives, and they weren't alone so it worked like driving a tank over a car.
6n marines beat 8n interceptors for all n∈N if the terran has an upgrade advantage, which isn't hard because +1+1 on marines costs less than +1+1+1 on interceptors AND marines themselves are much cheaper.
A Terran complaining about Skytoss? Really? Make 20 Barracks, spam marines and kill the interceptors, this isn't even a complaint! Jesus. Skytoss is easy as fuck to beat as Terran. I play Terran, btw. I love seeing Skytoss because it just dies.
