I recommend you get the eye of Cthulhu yo-yo for endgame because it is the only yo-yo that doesn’t come back to you unless you stop attacking so you could essentially kill a boss in one durability

Imagine combining this with a modified version of the weapon Randomizer such that you get a new random weapon every time you run out of durability on the one your using.

The Merchant sells copper tools to prevent you from being softlocked in case you were a big enough idiot to lose all your tools.

The one thing I like about terraria Is that it has no durability but now it's ruined

A couple things, 1) in hardmode repairing weapons is going to require a heck of a lot of money, 2) Summons will be great late-game, 3) Weapons like the sniper rifle are gonna be kinda insane

Maybe it would be a bit more fair if each weapon had durability equal to its damage. Copper shortsword has 8 durability & zenith has 190 durability. That way things still break, but it happens less as power creeps

I think the merchant sells copper tools in case you die as a mediumcore character and you dont have any items left. It allows you to essentially restart.

honestly this sounded like a fun idea until i realized the creator was basically just making it as a joke and made everything have only 10 uses. would have been really cool if they adjusted the durability of each weapon/tool accordingly. would make it feel like your actually progressing when getting some god weapon and not having it break immediately.

Merchant sells the axe and pickaxe for mediumcore characters. If you die and can't get back to your stuff in early game, you'll probably need to buy some new tools. Make use of the void bag and safe while playing mediumcore

The new Terraria and DST crossover is looking thicc. They even have DST's durability too.

I want an actual durability mod that isn't extremely difficult. Like, give the starter copper tools infinite uses, but crafted copper/tin tools have 600 uses and it goes up to like 100000 uses for the late game tools.

In these situations, the summoner class is the best

the mod would be better if the amount of durability scaled with rarity, so that rarer weapons have more durability. also give the basic copper tools (shortsword, axe, and pick) infinite durability

Kraken, developer yoyos, code 2 and EoC (yoyo) will be useful.

Not having durability scale with damage seems like a glorious mistake.

The merchant sells the pick and ax because if you throw those items away there is no way to get new ones(at least in the early updates)

Merchant selling the axe and pick was a game saver for me. Yall ever noticed that ctrl deletes an item and shift puts it into a chest. Didn't look deleted my entire inventory, nothing major was lost other than my only pick and axe. Actually I lost all my potions, I keep looking for potions and then giving up, that's where they went.

I think a better way of beating bosses would just have goblin tinkerer in the arena with a long lasting weapon.

weapons that shoot multiple plus yoyos are very good. also cannon does high damage so mid-late game cannons are key. basically, do items with a big blow instead of fast attacks with durability.

Talking about 1:53 I know exactly why the merchant sales the copper axe and pickaxe. It's incase you drop one and lose it, Because there is no other way to obtain it if you lost one. It saved my first world on terraria. Because I lost my pickaxe somewhere and I couldn't do anything.

This mod would be so cool, if there was methods like minecraft to lessen the durability usage, if the durability was higher, amongst other things.

IIRC an old version of the Terraria Overhaul mod had durability. Fun!

I feel like durability can be done well: wooden/cactus gear has 30-50 durability, metal equipment has 150-600 durability depending on what tier, demonite and meteorite has 1,000, and hellstone has 1500. Found gear's durability depends on when the gear is suited for, with most having at least 600 durability. Equipment can be repaired with their constituent material at the station they are created at, with magic weapons (and weapons with an 'enchanted' property) also costing a fallen star to repair (found gear at the station they would be likely to be crafted at). Each repair restores 10% of its durability. Equipment can also be repaired by reforging at the goblin tinkerer, but this costs extra based on how much the equipment was damaged. Because ranger and mage equipment already cost resources to use, they get a 33% durability bonus. Steel can be made from any ore (better ores cost less ingots per steel) and wood. This is used to repair most guns and any equipment where you can't quite place what it's made of. If bosses have special weapon drops, they now also drop materials with which to repair the equipment, unless they already drop a crafting material like beetle husk or luminite. Hardmode ore equipment has 2000, 2500, and 3000 durability respectively. Hallowed gear has 4k durability and chlorophyte has 5k. Gear dropped by plantera and golem, as well as Solar Eclipse drops and their derivatives, have 6,500 durability. Equipment made at the Ancient Manipulater has 10,000 durability, and moon lord drops have 15,000 durability. At 50% durability, a piece of equipment gains the worn prefix, which has no effects on its own but removes any positive prefix if there was one. at 25% it gets the damaged prefix, and at 0% the broken prefix. Equipment can still be used while broken, but the prefix is much worse, reducing its effectiveness by 90% and reducing its tool power if it has any. Goblin tinkerer cannot apply these three prefixes when reforging. The three starter tools should be unbreakable because unlike minecraft you have to have something to be able to progress at all

fun fact: The reason that the merchant sells copper tools is just in case the player somehow loses his starting ones (for ex. trowing them in the trash bin by mistake) so they wont softblock. plus, if you lack the resourses to make a furnace for... some reason, he sells it as well if you put him in the jungle.

Honestly would of been more interesting if they had a bit more durability or if it was based on blocks broken cause this is just a glorified no tools challenge

So, for a WoF fight it could be useful to nest several pairs of chests along the tracks. Basically, trash The Hungry with all fodder weapons you have, dump broken stuff in one chest, pick up fresh set from another one nearby to your hotbar and resume boss' beating

I believe that if someone wants to get seriously involved in the development of this mod, then he has a big future.
