The reason the snow above your spawn is hurting you is because it wasn't man-made when you mined it, to prevent you from mining everything and placing it back down, essentially cheesing the system.

Any block that naturally spawns, excluding some most likely by mistake, is meteorite/hellstone even if you place it and any block you craft bricks, platform etc. Is safe, I imagine the pyramid was safe.

Was really hoping this would be "every block you mine has the effect of hellstone ore" and not just the blocks hurt. Like, imagine every non man-made/placed block drops lava in the same way hellstone ore does. That'd be a sick challenge!

Just to let you know I think you could only not touch natural blocks. You could however touch man-made blocks not man placed blocks.

I have an idea for a challenge, idk if its possible but i will mention it anyway. A challenge where you can only move using hooks, you will need to give the character you will use a hook before starting the challenge. The exact difficulty of the challenge would depend on the hook you use, the anti-gravity hook would be easier than the Web Slinger Hook (it has lower range so it would probably be harder to navigate in larger areas, i think something like the Thorn Hook or Slime Hook would be in between) You can jump to dislodge the hooks and fly if you have rocket boots or wings, but you can not move left or right without using a hook, you also cant use mounts but you can use minecarts as long as its not used for a boss fight. I doubt this comment will ever be seen by the dude who made this video but oh well

If only Gungnir would know that you actually can hammer on the minecart track ends and change them to bumpers which change your direction without you losing speed

Pro tip to use when u are going to use platforms over a long distance Put 1 block wide gaps between each platform you place, you can still safely walk over them without falling, this can double the length you get from the same amount!

Water doesnt hurt because the "lava" is actually something lighting you on fire, and water extinguishes fire.

Placing dirt doesn't mean you made the dirt. Placing wood, you made it because that's no longer a tree trunk. From what you read out... The mod name is wrong, but the description is spot on, you just didn't understand it. The ice is probably just an oversight though, especially since the icicles were still causing the effect.

It looks like anything that can naturally generate is counted as lava (including crafting bench ext), though I find it odd ice blocks didn't count, and I wonder how it affects the hardmode ores. Neat idea for a mod indeed but I could see it being a tedious nightmare till mid or even late game . . . on the other hand it'd make dirt bombs dangerous again lol.

Pretty sure this is just the mod author's first public mod considering on the official forums they've not made any other mods (or at least not announced on the forums). It was probably just an attempt at making a decent mod, but it fails at a few points and some bugs are most likely the cause of you randomly catching on fire, that or they might have accidentally coded the wrong block. As a comment from Random Raymondo said before me, it's just the "fire block" effect that's being applied to naturally spawning blocks (blocks like meteorite and hellstone) and gaining the obsidian skull is likely to make the mod irrelevant (though I don't believe anyone has tested that yet). Man-made is anything that is not found naturally in the world (except for wood because, idk, the author gives that to us at least.) This is why any block you mined in the world that was previously "lava" and then placed back down is still "lava". (I don't think the author thought of the cheese that would be, it's just that's the way it was made.) TL;DR: It's the first mod from a new mod author, so it's bound to be unpolished, buggy and sometimes outright nonsensical.

Man-made refers to the kind of block, not if you put it down. Dirt isn't man-made, but if you made dirt bricks out of them then it'd be safe
