So the day 1.4 came out, I got some friends together to play master mode. It didn't go so well Also screw graveyards Sources: Athletic Theme - Yoshi's Island: • Video
Good to know that me and my boys are not the only ones suffering, one of them made a graveyard right by spawn, in the arena, i am kind of the dumbest in the group, but bro, why
My friend who I’m playing with thinks we’re doing expert, because he wouldn’t play otherwise. He doesn’t yet know the fact that we’re doing master mode
I have to say with my calamity revengance and terraria experiences, i have to say no notable changes to the bosses until brain of chutulu (i didnt defeat any boss after brain and the 3 bosses where beaten at fist attempt) Edit: queen bee is much harder
Me too. I don't even have much expert mode experience and just thougt "how tough can master mode be?". Well.. I died. It isn't frustrating though for me. That is a plus.
I can sum it up better on Master Mode For the Worthy “Was slain by a Jungle Slime.” “Had their innards removed by Jungle Bat” “Stopped flailing by a ghost” “Watched their entrails cut off the bone by Zombie”
Me and my friend got goblins basically as soon as we started playing, we did 1 damage and died in 1 hit so I had to use a post moon lord character to kill them all just so we could actually play the game
Lol 1o1 Person who beat master mode here, graveyards will be a constant throughout your playthrough of the difficulty. Each of the celestial pillars make the area around them turn into graveyards. And the invasions... oh god the invasions...
@@dethaw6926 i got a goblin invasion on i think like day 5 of terraria (ingame days) so i just had to keep going underground digging around like hell and eventually after hours of looting i came back and absolutely slaughtered them
@@dethaw6926 lol,in my First pre-hardmode master mode goblin army invasion i Just Spammed the Vilethorn While being stationary in my base (im Doing a mage Playthrough), It legit Took me less than a day in-Game
Master mode=your free trial of living has ended (I just said another comment on another video was my most liked comment but now i think it’s my second)
You haven't tried seed for the worthy, when you beat skeletron on master mode on that seed you can talk about masochism, hint It's insane and about 3x harder
to be honest master mode feels more like the true game then any other mode because it actually forces u to think outside the box to kill bosses instead of doing the traditional get better gear and then come back ive found myself building massive hoik loops to try and kill some bosses probably when i enter hardmode im going to start making wired arenas just set up for every single specific attack of the boss and have it stretch across the entire map or some shit like that
This is so relatable. I never really played expert mode and thought "how hard can it be?". Very hard apparently. It is not frustrating though because I know I am doing things not optimally. For example I didn't even consider using a bow.. things could have been easier than I am making them for me.
First playthrough of this was hell for me too, then my dumbass thought itll be a good idea to do another playthrough on drunk world, which surprisingly went better, except that i died to the queen bee 7times, and 12times to the hornets... The spawn rate in the beehive is nuts
've gotta say I was kinda liking the jump in dificulty upon I got to the point of fighting EoW. It was already bad in expert with those almost invisible spits and now they dealing about 80 of damage, is almost ridiculous, and remembers me of calamity death mode. Also upon starting I recomend making your home a bit above ground but using ropes instead of platforms since the zombies AI aparrently got kinda smarter and can get to you easier than before.
@@the8413 From what I seen, they always jump when close to you and you're higher than 'em. So a trick I used was to small jump near him, this makes him jump higher, so you can just run bellow him. Also for the goblins pre-HM I usually just dug a pit deep enough below my house so they get stuck, them grenade away from a platform above it.
The early game grave yard will become a wonderfull memory for many. I was surprised they didnt buff the ghosts post WOF but it's nice late game to look at them like nothingm
This is the same as everyone else i guess. When me and my friends started playing we were like "oh a slime killed us, now it is almost a graveyard break the graves. now a thousand ghosts are chasing us. Well..."
got spawncamped by zombies in my multiplayer world, then after that we got spawncamped by ghosts due to our horrible house design. 10/10 would complete master mode again
I was thinking of making a rule that stated “you can’t break shadow orbs until we’re all ready,” but then I realized that none of us could survive long enough to get there
@@deathgreaper986 I had to kill all the goblins in master mode with a post moon lord character because me and my friend were literally getting spawn camped and there was no place to go so either I killed them with op gear or we didn't play the damn game
Sad Toaster i was getting spawn camped but i faced the goblin army with pre hard mode gear that weren’t really good weapons , it took me like 1 hour 20 mins to get the event done
I gotta say, it was certainly an...interesting choice Re-Logic made in making the hard difficulty reward you with tons of utility accessories, meanwhile the very hard one only has an extra starting accessory slot, and cosmetic (but fancier) looking pets and trophies, even if it gets the sane rewards expert gives Oh yeah, and a mount right at hard mode (lunatic cultist dragon almost makes it worth it though. Almost)
For me, I’ve only played on Xbox, but I got terraria LITERALLY AN HOUR AGO on the computer, and decided for the first playthrough I do on computer (keep in mind I barely know how the controls work and haven’t played 1.4 up to that point) for it to be a master mode playthrough. I have died 38 times in the past hour alone. send help
my friend and i thought it was a good idea to play master mode with mediumcore characters. safe to say, whenever one of us die, the next hour or so is spent recovering our gear.
I have two friends who just picked up terraria. They wanted maximum challenge and didnt want to miss out on any content. Ive been playing master mode with two peopke who have never played terraria..... it took about 16 hours hours but we beat eye of cthulu. Its hell.
Ok sorry i misunderstood, I thought they wanted challenge. Also you can use seed 5162020, It's moon lord legs in some of chests. It's another easter egg seed
I have a 20ish man server and the first 3 hours of spawn was one big graveyard. Boss arenas turned into ghost spawners, which was an endless cycle of death.
Yeah, we eventually did that. What I wish sunflowers would do though is prevent enemies from spawning during bosses. You have no idea how annoying it is for a gastropod to spawn and shoot you for 200 damage while fighting one of the new bosses
@@firy6283 Maybe this game just hates me, but I used calming potions, sunflowers, peace candles, and background walls in my arena and still, enemies managed to spawn during the fight and screw me over
I got an early-hardmode Pirate Invasion about the time I got the Adamantite Forge, but no good weapons thanks to rushing for the hardmode ores… …let me just say it was a miserable experience. I cheesed the whole event with a yoyo because I literally couldnt stop dying upon respawn lmao. Im glad the one Dutchman I was able to kill gave me Black Spot
Well I killed moon lord in Journey mode, got bored and started master mode on seed for the worthy, I felt like I finally play fair, because previously I used any exploit to avoid using skill that I had no desire to gain, so now i can't kill skeletron and I can't make hellbridge because every enemy deals over 100 dmg
Me and around 10 other people are playing on a master-mode server. Everything scales with how many players, sometimes to the extremes. We are currently having a bit of trouble with the destroyer since he has a casual _1.6 million hp and spawns a Swarm of probes every millisecond_
A friend and I jumped into Master Mode literally minutes after release and it's embarassing to say that we struggled with the slime king so much that we went for EoC first because he was sort of easier for us lmao
@@aggressivebungee Did you guys also have a fight where the eye had literally 2 HP left before it killed all of you? That situation almost made me ragequit
@@panzerfich thats the most annoying part of the eye of cthulhu when its just one hit from ANYTHING and it just goes too fast for u to hit it so u spend 20 seconds helplessly watching your hp drain until u die probably the most infuriating thing about the entire fight is that last part which often goes as described even when uve got really good gear that shit still happens
@@heroninja1125 to be fair, we COULD have easily clapped it when it was 1 hit away from death but my friend sometimes acts like a dumbass when it comes to fighting a boss. For example, on a run where the EoC had like 20 HP left I had already died because it was a randomly spawned EoC and I went into the fight with a little less HP and I got finally finished off because we placed our arena a bit too high in the air and I fell down due to knockback. He had almost killed the eye but he kept jumping into the general path of the eye's dashes and missing a lot of his attacks. In Hindsight, we should've taken some grenades but oh well
Ghosts are awful in master mode. The server I was playing on spawn was a graveyard 95% of the time. BUT, I have figured out that it is really really easy to cheese them. They are pretty much like the hardmode enemies that go though walls, they can't go up though air. So just a floating platform high enough that they can't get up to it and you can just shoot arrows at them.
King Slime: h a r d EOC: h a r d EOW: s u p e r h a r d Queen Bee: h a r d Skeletron: a little harder WOF: actually easy as fuck with the demon scythe Twins: WHAT THE FUCK Skeletron: H O W That's as far as I've gotten so far and I got 52 hours on the world, my usual overpreparing to hell is now not overpreparing
i cant believe people think master mode is hard i wasnt suffering at all aside from the goblin army on day 6 which i just avoided by going into the same cave and digging even more eventually i got some very good weapons and killed the goblin army now its just a somewhat smooth ride also killed eye of cthulhu which decided to spawn just when i was trying to craft stuff but i still managed to kill it because gravity control potion op
So for my first run in 1.4 I decided to go with master-medium... Boy, those freaking ghosts, but theyre not even the worst the jungle is just plain torture.
Doing FTW master mode in corruption world Have to create another FTW MM in Crimson just to defeat BoC, almost manage to defeat all pre hardmode bosses in +135 hours just WoF left to hunt down...
