I like how it starts identical to the regular Underground theme and then gets gradually more corrupted and twisted as time goes on. It's really clever.
@@peeka_ Honestly yeah I got that mod too and I love it. It's such a hassle having to keep back the Corruption/Crimson from ruining my world and dealing with it so much. Especially since I can just miss one piece and bam an area is ruined again once I come back. Probably my least favorite thing about Terraria but they're still cool biomes and I love the themes. I just hate having to clean it up so much. Especially when it's in the Jungle.
It's always _fun_ to hear this play in what appears to be a normal cave... _Especially_ if it's near your base... Or hearing it suddenly kick in _while you're standing still._
@silverpixel Yeah, well, floating eyeballs, a wall of gore, literal demons, a biome representing hell, and a biome made out of blood and body parts. Nah, totally a kids' game.
A horrible chill runs down your spine... Screams echo around you... Eater of Worlds has awoken! (0.001 seconds later) Eater of Worlds has been defeated!
@@DarkSword3125 Why did u not have wings when you have clentaminator that only can get of steampunker that only appears ehen u defeat a mechanical boss
@@xxepicsniperpro8087 Basically take everything the original comment said and take out the clentaminator and replace it with throwing bombs and using powder. I didn't really specify what I was doing jumping down those holes sorry lol
imo crimson is easier to cleanse, since it's mostly just 1 cave in many other segments, unlike corruption which is literally a maze that you need to cleanse every single part of
This is a very clever designed soundtrack as the longer it goes on the more twisted it gets eventually breaking down perfectly portraying corruption and going insane
I love in the beginning when the corruption melody plays once, quietly, then immediately goes back to the underground theme. Almost as if the corruption is trying to convince you it's not there.
The part at 1:16 (the violins) always gets me determined to stop the spread of the corruption. To me 1:16 symbolizes that-even though things are bad-you can still make it through. (Also I love violins)
I love how Crimson is just warning you, screeching for you to get out of there Where is this is like a cat owner going "Pspsps" to get a cat to come closer It's basically "Welcome to downtown Spookesville"
It feels mors like dead silence because crimson are alive and this is reason why it screeching to warn you While corruption is death and decay place and it gives the same feeling
This is honestly one of my favorite terraria songs. Honestly, I just love the corrupted biome as a whole. ...Mainly because of the music. This song really does feel like a distorted eerie version of the original underground theme. A "Corrupted" version of the original theme, I suppose. It'll make new players feel scared, or on their toes. They know nothing about this new, dark and scary biome. They don't know how the enemies act, or what enemies there are in general. Fear of the Unknown, I should say. It's exactly why I prefer this biome over the crimson. I also died to one of the altars the first time I played from trying to mine it with my wooden hammer.
I always unintentionally have crimson in my world, and at first this sounded extremely familiar until about 30 seconds in. It's like taking what I knew and *corrupting* it
0:01 I've always thought this was like a voice in your head saying "wrong way", trying to get you to turn back in fear of the unknown. It made the music feel connected to the gameplay a little bit more
Jesus this track is killer. My favorite in the game. The scariest part is right at the beggining. That first growl kinda thing. Thats when you know your screwed. You hear it and your like, CORRUPTION. But what i like is how if you dont catch that first cue, you often assume its the normal underground, until it goes off track and the screams start. I freaken love this track.
I just like how the normal Underground theme plays in here for few seconds, like to confuse the players who get into this hell. One of the best soundtracks in Terraria imo.
I personally get the opposite feeling. The strings leading to a crescendo gives me a feeling of devastation. An overwhelming, guilt-inducing, depressing feeling of “This place is a dead zone, it’s gone forever, and YOU let it happen.”.
You have found ebony EBONY?! ebon-y ebonstone, ebonsand. corruption corruption corruption AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA i have memories of corruption those damn corruptors and world feeders
@@LoniTheFricc wtf is that reaction to a goddamn name, I mean, of course, it's the ebon-stuff, but hot damn that's the last kind of reaction anyone would expect to see
The theme starts like the cavern theme, but when the grim part comes, its like it's warning you, like:"This isn't a normal underground, take care..."I love it!
man honestly i love how there are so many comments that note how heroic 1:16 is or just find that section of the song beautiful in general. really warms my heart how music can convey different concepts and how universally understood it is sometimes
I love how this is like a remix of the normal theme mixed with the main corruption theme, really fits what the corruption does Also that percussion goes hard
I don't know if it's just me but i think the world of Terraria hates the crimson. The reason i say this is because the music in the crimson is much more sinister and the underground crimson the crimson in the tracks take over while in the corruption the music takes turns or combines. Also in the underground crimson the world seems to give up at the beginning and regains it's strength enough to play near the middle and the end.
If the Terraria crew really hated the crimson, why is the Artery a direct upgrade to the Malise? And why are the Vampire Knives so broken in comparison to the Scourge Of The Corruptor which is just good? Also, I think
I feel like it's something a bit different. The Corruption incorporates elements from standard themes because it's merely a distorted version of the world, a corrupted and evil version of the forest and desert you're so used to. Thus, it is something that, while dark and evil, still is recognizable and you can detect elements from the original world. The Crimson, on the other hand, is something that should not be there. It's butchered horror in such a mind-boggling way that all you can do is freak out because it's an eldritch location that violates the laws of practically everything. Terraria doesn't hate the Crimson; the Crimson hates Terraria.
*My first time playing* Me: *ew what is that a cockroach?* * Me 6 seconds later * A_CRAZY_DUDE has been eaten by eater of souls Me again: ight imma head out
0:00 - 0:09 huh, I guess there’s no corruption here, the music doesn’t sound different so I better head back up and get my torches. 0:10 Wait- oh no... Redfed9 died from Eater of worlds You dropped 1 platinum, 5 gold, 3 silver, and 1 copper.
to me, this sound like the corruption is struggling for control with the regular underground. Its a really neat compo of my two favorite Terraria songs.
Rofl. I would always break the deeper shadow orbs (i.e. the three of your choice) first, and save the the ones that are not deep for last. Or just simply drop bombs down in the chasms with the orbs.
@@CantThinkOfAnythingToUseHere Hellevators are a vertical tunnel dug by the player from the surface down to the underworld. If it is wide enough, corruption, crimson and hallow cannot spread over the gap. It is used as a hole to easily reach the caverns or underworld. They are often created within or near a player's base at the world spawn point.
The first time I heard this I didn't even know I'd stumbled into corruption. (The ebonstone was just out of sight) I just wondered why the music faded out for a second, then when the music started to change I flipped out. I wanted to run because I didn't know what it meant, but it was such a bop I had to stay.
I remember in my first playthrough, wheb i defeated the wall of flesh and then went to the mine I did to explore and gather materials was all consumed by corruption and it was full of very strong enemies that would kill me over and over again. I felt kinda devastated because i spent tons of hours in that mine and it was my first playthroug and I didn't know anything about the game so I was kinda lost and I didn't know what to do to get the new minerals.
It was pretty genious of them to make it sound like normal underground at first, given how you dont expect to be in corruption, think youre safe, and then it falls apart.
The Corruption does not stop with the surface of the world. Giant, corrupt worms slowly eat through Terraria's crust, spreading the Corruption ever deeper.
I remember just starting my world and going down a "normal" cave and then all I hear is this music. I dont even mind it I just go straight trough the EOS lol.
"Why would I need this powder? It just turns corrupted stone into regular stone! I can just go underground for it, right?" pre-hardmode me was so naive.
Since this comment is recent I want to ask -- can you stop corruption in hardmode if you dig a big hole like 5-8 blocks wide on the crimson-purity border?
For me this song sounds like the regular underground song that is unknowingly traveling and the corruption is fighting back being turned into one with the corruption
