Makes me wonder, is there any kind of crazy shit you can't show in a movie theater if this film is on there. Sadly we kinda don't have movies anymore in Russia, so i will watch in online anyways lol
I had a really solid audience during this, everyone was laughing during the car stuff and mashed potatoes stuff and Halloween store stuff, everyone there really had a sick sense of humor along with myself and it added a lot to the experience
Totally agree. I think they did a great job of incorporating the comedy with the horror. A lot of the kills were over the top and I think it was meant to be that way. Really reminds me of the original 3 Evil Dead movies.

Art the clown is the only horror character that actually freaks me out. The one kill in the first movie where the girl is upside down has literally stuck w me since I saw it
I never understood why people don't like Terrifier 1's lack of story. For me a big issue with mainstream horror is that the movies are too hung up on conventional storytelling and wind up being lesser for it. When I'm watching a horror movie, I will forgive almost anything as long as it honestly scares me. I am constantly waiting for a horror movie that throws out all conventional wisdom about things like writing and editing in favor of doing whatever would simply evoke the most fear, and Terrifier 1's plotlessness actually did something very close to that
Totally agree, the chaos and evil of the first film is all that it needed. It broke a mould and actually did something I hadn't really seen before. This film just jumps with both feet onto the stereotypical horror movie train for a free ride.
I expect certain things for movies. Suoer hero movies that people love hating on for story. I expect fun intense action scenes and an entertaining movie. Dont care too much about the plot.. In horror movies I expect creative kills and some scary elements MOST of them idc about the plot. Drama movies and thrillers or whatever I'd expect a good story Not that plot isn't important it is but more or less depending on the movie type. In my opinion
Terrifier 1 is perfect on its own and I don’t mind the acting, we all know they’re going to die they’re just dummies waiting for their time but it’s like a backstory on Art and his reputation, you don’t need an origin story, you just need to know what he’s capable of doing which is all the first film is
Like a child who gets scared on non sense ghsost stories ,so getting scared should not be parameter. It should be story, context, build up all those things which require intelligence that makes the movie great not like this terrifer which just kills everyone becauss he has some extra power which is so obivious knowing that humans are up against some demon.
Terrifier 1 was phenomenal. Terrifier 2 will also be phenomenal. Chaos without order & hanging onto shock value is great for certain horror movies, in my opinion.
One of the best Slasher films ever made in my opinion. Was already a massive fan of art, even have a tattoo of him but this movie took it to a completely new level. Damien Leone is my only a fantastic director but he has savini-like skills with the practical effects
@@urbancyber3603 hatchet is another great example of newer horror done right. At least as far as slashers and gore goes. The thing that makes terrifier/art special to me is that he/the film is just fucking mean. There’s no on sympathy for art and he just revels in the violence. Women, children, pets, whoever.
I didn't watch the first Terrifer because of the reasons you listed on why you didn't like it, but this is sounding a lot better than the first. When it comes to digital, I'll check this out, 100%
@@TheRealPetraeus yeah that's a good way to do it. All Hallows Eve isn't necessarily based on Art. He's just has a story in the anthology that's an introduction of his character.

I actually loved Terrifier 2. Felt like a psychopath tho since I was eating during it 😅. This move was much way better and definitely reminded me of 80's horror movies and the final girl was amazing.
I got a bit worried myself after. Had a Pizza while watching it and didn't flinch at all. Now either the Pizza I had was beyond awesome, or I may have some issues.
So glad I saw this one in the theater. In my smaller town the theater was nearly full and the audience had so much fun with it! Such an awesome experience.
Freddy: Backstory explained in first movie. Jason: Back story explained in first movie. Candyman: Back story explained in first movie. Maniac Cop: Backstory explained in first movie. Terrifier 2: Lies to fans about Art's backstory being explained and solely relies on gruesome kills.
I'm so glad I was able to see this in a theater last night. everyone was pretty into it and it was just an awesome experience. I'm also someone who can handle gore but man, this movie was truly something alright lol. I loved terrifier 2 but my only complaint was that almost every scene could've been trimmed and had a better flow. I feel like the fan edit community will come up with something.
There is one scene that I definitely didn't understand the editing, where both girls go to give out to give candy. I saw the movie twice and the first time I was so confused I thought they had done a wardrobe mistake but it was due to how that transition was cut.
I'm so mad they're not showing it here. I stole it, watched it, and now want to pay for it in the theater. I literally want to give them money just so I can watch this in a theater full of other people. It's such the perfect shitty 80s style gorefest that is fun to watch with a crowd.
The only part I didn't like was the whole Woman Woman thing with the magic knife which brought her back to life. This movie could have done without that.

I remember watching the first movie and boy I'll tell ya... No kill in any movie TERRIFIED me as much as when I seen terrifire saw the naked lady in half.. still haunts me to this day
Watching this one later with my best friend. He has never seen the first one, and I’m going to keep it that way and see how he reacts tonight 😂 this was another thing I was most looking forward to in October
It's a very good movie that could have honestly been two great movies. It's way too long and the third act has a tonal shift that just doesn't feel like it's the same movie. They could have saved that and teed up another film. That said, this is the best practical effects work you'll see anywhere in the last 20+ years.
Massive Terrifier fan! Terrifier 2 has cemented itself as my new favorite horror film of all time which hasn’t EVER changed since the OG A Nightmare on Elm Street. My three words to describe this movie would be Visceral, Uncompromising & Nightmarish. Best horror movie that I’ve seen in theaters! 🎉
I'd love to see a Terrifier 3. Damien Leone has tons of untapped potential as a director, and I loved the practical effects, the shots, the color grading, and just the general 80's slasher vibe. I think Damien edits these movies himself though and it shows in a bad way. He should work with a professional editor on 3 and I think itd have a much more digestible run time without sacrificing any cool shots

totally agree with you, it's a good movie I really like the characater (Art the clown) but I just didn't like how long the movie was, at time I would get bored and also that magical weapon didn't work for me either that kind it kill it for me specially what it does to the girl, other than that it was a good movie, but I do wish they would give us a back story of what Art the clown is or where he comes from
I loved this movie the only issue I had was well the director needs to hire an editor......there's at least 1 or 2 scenes that needed to be cut down Slightly

Loved it definitely was better than the first. I also love the money it’s bringing in for being a small budget movie. It’s making waves in the box office. Love to see a movie like this perform well.
It sounds like the original is like a "first look" or tech demo for a super cool full release videogame, that videogame being Terrifier 2. I enjoyed the first one, can't wait for this :D
To be fair there’s an interview after the movie and he does say the first one was just them introducing the character and what he can do and then later he wanted to bring in a story.
I actually really enjoyed the first one think of the first one like a grind house movie and the second one more of a low budget horror movie in the 80's
I saw it last night. I super-appreciate practical effects, though the gore and brutality in the Terrifier movies were a bit too much for me. I feel like the effects seem more fun to do than they are to watch, it would probably be a blast and a half to work with that effects team. The film was also too long, and the third act feels especially dragged out. Horror films should probably stay around the 90-minute length, going too far beyond that can make the movie wear out its welcome because you can only sustain that extreme, intense feeling of adrenalized fear for so long before it starts to get tiresome and wears you out. It's why riding a roller coaster doesn't take very long.
I loved this movie!! The kills were very great and it gave me the 80s vibes too! I would go and see this movie again and again ❤. Hopefully we get a 3rd movie
I liked the first one, the image of art the clown unsettled me before I even watched. Just finished Terrifier 2 and this was a whole other level. Sienna was awesome as a Final Girl, also loved the creepy clown girl and the overall expansion of the lore/world of Art the Clown. It is so ridiculously over the top but that's what it's going for. It's really hard to rate this but I would say for what they were going for they executed it well!
Terrifier 2 was definitely a step up from the first I think when it came down to the first was just the story of Art how bad he is what he can do and what he's capable of doing. The second one how ever definitely brings more lore to it the creepy girl that keep Art entertained and living and the relations between Victoria and Art, as well as the brother and sister who fight Art. I was super excited goin into this film in theaters and I was not disappointed to me Art could make his way up there with the big names in horror. I know you said you were mad that they didn't answer any questions of what and who he is but I like that. It makes me think of Michael Myers because we still don't fully understand why Michael Myers does what he does and I think that's something I like with Art it mysterious and it leaves to us fans to guess and theorize on. I can't wait to see terrifier 3 if it's green lit and sure I'd live to see some answers but I still enjoy the mystery of Art the clown. Amazing video as alwasy Cris.
I have no doubt the next movie will delve into some Art folklore. I am loving one theory floating around is that Art was a well known Medieval Court Jester that was caught practicing the dark arts (hence the name Art) and because of this he was tortured for months and then executed by being hung, drawn and quartered. His remains were then buried in unmarked grave however, anybody who lived near the grave or came into contact with it would seemingly die a horrible death. The folklore peaked the interest of an American archeologist who travelled to Britain in the early 1900s and was granted permission to have the remains exhumed and then brought back to the U.S for further study. The rest is as they say....history.
I think this film genuinely raised the bad for slashers. I just watched Halloween 2018 again and I had zero reaction to any of the kills, they all seemed so lame and fake. Even the bathroom scene, which I found brutal as fuck in the past…was like nothing. I really hope that the Terrifier franchise takes off and other franchises start jumping on the “extreme slasher” bandwagon, because these slasher franchises need upgrades to their kills lol. I really can’t go back to older slashers now. Terrifier 2 changed the game.

@@travd2957 I mean I did 7 years in the military so maybe I’m not normal lol. But for the record, I didn’t enjoy the first Terrifier at all when I first saw it. I don’t like Saw or Hostel or anything where people get tortured…it bothers me. It feels like it’s made for people that enjoy human suffering. And that’s not me. But I will say that when I saw Terrifier 2, i loved it so much that I went back and watched the first one again and now I love it. It’s definitely a tough watch, but it never feels like torture porn. It still feels like a slasher, just a very gory one.
A tidbit I like to point out with this movie is that the kid with the glasses is Elliott. His has his own RU-vid channel called Little Punk People. Where he talks about heavy metal bands and his record collection. Occasionally interviews band members. Talks about horror movies.
I agree with what you said as a slasher it's one if not the best slasher to date especially in regards to gore & the kills however the story line is questionable as it just left me confused & wanting answers.
This was the first time I have seen Art the clown and loved the character so much. I would go as far as to call him my second favorite slasher killer behind the shape. My only gripe with the movie is that it ran too long and the whole magic weapon plot really didn't do it for me. I feel like the ending could have been rewritten to where the magic weapon sequence wasn't that absurd if you know what I mean without giving spoilers.

This is the first slasher movie i have ever watched. Prolly 30 minutes in, I said out loud, "I can no longer take this movie seriously." I had a great time watching it after I made that realization. My only question is why Sienna's friend's death scene was so much more brutal than any of the other ones.
Just saw this with some friends and it was awesome. It felt like I was in a Time Machine watching a movie during the grindhouse era. There were only like 6 people in the theatre but we all laughed our asses off.
I think both films are an underrated piece of horror cinema that can definitely go somewhere given the right resources but the first one although not being great the idea of a killer going against the rules and killing off the final girl as well as making the secondary final girl a traumatised and disfigure individual shows the malevolence, evil and power of Art the clown and using him as a clown simulates the meaning of a clown perfectly in that they don’t follow rules, they do what they want to do which makes him all the more terrifying
The ending sequence is confusing. However this is what I believe it means. The little girl that we saw with Art throughout the movie was never physically there unlike Art. This is because it was the projected image of the deformed girl locked up ( forget her name). The little girl and Art seemed in love with one another throughout the film and at the end the deformed girl is writing that she loves Art. This will explain why the deformed girls eyes light up like the little girls did and why she has Art's head.
Art the clown is simply becoming a horror icon right in front our eyes he’s gruesome terrifying and has no motive like Michael just a creepy iconic figure
The 1st one was great! More about the Kills then the story itself. But the 2nd one is a league on its own. Only grip wish it was a little shorter. Especially the ending scene. But I can’t complain too much this movie was an amazing horror masterpiece.
it made $400,000 thursday night in just 850 theaters, some with lacking showtimes. Amsterdam open to $550,000 in 3,000+ theaters with more showtimes on Thursday night. I think Terrifier 2 is a win even if it's not on top. I agree with the runtime. could have easily trimmed 15 to 30 minutes. I still enjoyed it. And the stuff with the sword didn't bother me. I just went with it.
fun fact: terrifier 2 is getting a sequel in October 2024 terrifler 3 supposed to be more dark and gory and fans of terrifler are excited for terrifier 3 and 4 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I’m glad that you mentioned that bit that you didn’t like about Terrifier. The lack of an actual story made everything outside of the kills just boring so I’ve been holding off on watching this. I think I might go watch it this coming weekend since you say it’s a huge step up from the first.
just watched Terrifier 2 and I will say, The the killings is some of the most unique kills I've ever seen in any horror movie, But warning, If you have a weak stomach or get freaked out by body horror, Stay far away from this movie.
1:28 - No protagonist and final girl worked just fine for what it was. It was clever to introduce a character to the end to circle back to the beginning. Slasher film didn’t follow the standard blueprint for once and I am glad for it.

Thanks for the honest review I too fell exactly the same way about these films word for word. Been going to Beyond Fest in LA. I became a fan of probably the coolest holiday horror film titled Christmas Bloody Christmas..think of model 101 from terminator but in a Santa suit. Great chemistry from the two main actors. Great kills, comes out December. My second recommendation has to be SICK, given you are a Scream fan you will enjoy this film. Some great shots, atmosphere, rawness, and a few laughs; also there's no cuts when the kills happen..also written by Kevin Williamson! shows he's still got that thriller bone in his body. Keep up the great work Chris!
I haven't seen either Terrifier movie but you summed up why I'm not a fan of modern slasher movies. It's less about the story and more about chaos and gory kills for the sake of one upping the last one. You can say the horror movies in the 80s were cheesy but at least they attempted to somewhat tell a story with movies like nightmare on elm street, Friday the 13th, Halloween etc. It's kind of like the Rob Zombie version of Halloween. I'm not a fan of violence just for the sake of violence.
Terrifier 1 “there’s no story” Terrifier 2 “how dare they not tell the full story and reveal everything and purposefully leave some mystery for the 3rd movie”
Had people leave my theater to go puke. Hell I almost puked. Definitely the scariest horror movie I've ever seen beyond gore it's genuinely horrifying. 10/10 masterpiece
It was a good time, and that’s all I need from a horror movie. The audience was reacting to EVERY scene Art was apart of. It wasn’t a perfect movie-and I do have questions, but it was a great theatric experience.
