I was just about to come on and comment on it! I agree. A movie with my two fave horror guys (well, Vincent would have created the triumvirate) and my fave tv cop "WHO LOVES YA BABY" vs the Cossacks and an undead ancient "creature"! Horror Express scared the heck out of me as a kid when I first saw it first run in the 70s and the score was amazing - that scary whistling dude!
Love that too! Then again, I am biased to love anything with Peter...when I was tested for Cushing's Disease recently, my oldest brother remarked - why did Peter give you a disease and started quoting Star Wars.@@markabboud4855
TRIVIA: This is also the first film of Vanity, best known for the films The Last Dragon, Action Jackson, and of course, her association with Prince. She's credited as "D.D. Winters" in this.
I found that out, too, when I watched this for the first time last October, and I couldn't take my eyes off her the entire movie and had to go on IMDB to look her up. She really was stunning in the movie ✨️ Course, you left out the movie where she gets sexually assaulted by a blue-eyed gorilla from her credits 😏
This is a great under appreciated slasher. Copperfield adds a mesmerizing intrigue while you’ve got some clever ideas to shake up the whodunnit formula. I knew this would give you plenty of fun material! Good job!
Wow they really had to think long and hard about what kind of character David Copperfield would play. Welcome back snob i hope Jacks first christmas was great.
It does have that My Bloody Valentine's vibe. The orbit of course. I hadn't thought about but it has that strange feeling that I don't think I have felt in in any other movie.
This movie was a victim of randomness for me. It paused on buffering on the scene at 1:20 and I thought: "Wtf, why this chick looks like a guy? Is this intentional? Are we supposed to notice? Oh damnit..." and the plot twist dawned on me.
I just rewatched this in a cinema in London a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time I watched it in about four or five years, and the first time I've ever seen it in a cinema. It's an awesome slasher film which deserves more of a fan following. It's a beautiful looking film with a great cast and a really creepy villain, and I like that there's a definitive ending, with no sequel bait. I also watched the trainwreck of 2022 remake [ which I didn't even know what a thing that existed previous to a couple of weeks ago ] and its simultaneously filmed, and even lazier, sequel. Both are horrible.
I remember my friend watching this on the phone together. She was at her house and I was at my house while we watched terror train together and talking about the scenes. We were in 5th grade. Scared the crap outta us. I didn't think anybody saw this but us.
I'm loving the new cinema snob theme. The original will always be the iconic and one I most associate with the show even though it was made originally for a completely different show. The original is what I would describe as sarcasm is symphony.
True facts about Hart Bochner…in addition to acting as the coked-up slimeball in DIE HARD, he also ended up being the killer in the disappointing URBAN LEGENDS:FINAL CUT sequel…as well as the Director of the (not bad) Jon Lovitz “Dangerous Minds”-spoof movie HIGH SCHOOL HIGH! Eclectic career! (He’s also the son of legendary Hollywood tough guy actor Lloyd Bochner)
Great way to start off 2024! I got a feeling it's gonna be a bumpy year! Awesome slasher film! I agree. It's extremely well made! Jamie Lee Curtis and Ben Johnson were dynamite in this film! I actually reviewed this film about a year ago. Always interesting to see another creator's take! Also a little surreal knowing I got to this film before the Cinema Snob.
You're going to have the chance to review another great movie from 1980 after seeing it in a movie house. Yes Caligula the Ultimate Cut will be playing in theaters in North America this year and Malcolm Mcdowell is actually promoting it.
I really like this forgotten slasher. I first stumbled across it on television when I was in college and wasn't disappointed when I watched it in full a few years later. Happy New Year, Brad!
Ah yes, Terror Train Up there in the halls of late 70’s/early 80’s Jamie Lee Curtis greats And frankly an interesting take on Murder on the Orient Express to be honest
It's great to have the classic Snob suit and glasses back again minus the glasses lenses, lol we just need the comfy chair back, and all will be right with the world again. A great start to the new year. Terror Train is a fun slasher movie that has held up well over the years.
Its an enjoyable 80s slasher. I do like when some people try to figure out what was wrong with the killer or anyone and say it was probably just dope lol
i want to write that my name is Josh Tate and i first watched Terror Train for the first time on December 31, 2000 and now i watch Terror Train every year on New Years Eve.
Decided to watch this one first, since it is the first new Cinema Snob review of 2024. I did see another review of this on another channel. Looks really well made for a Canadian slasher movie. Also got to give props to the David Copperfield stuff.
One of John Alcott’s downright-Kubrickian slick turd-polishes of otherwise unmemorable 80’s B-movies into cult status, along with The Beastmaster and Vice Squad. Who cares if it’s cheap, so long as it LOOKS good.? 😎
Got the UK 88 Films blu ray release. Good film. Interesting to see the Horror Express trailer - Chris Lee and Peter Cushing, and Telly Savalas 😀 The Night Train Murders is also good - again I've got the early release from 88 Films.
Not gonna lie... but this has to got to be the most impressive Cinema Snob review that I have ever seen! Quite a great way to start off 2024 if you ask me 😏😉👍
Saw this round a mates house & thought it was pretty decent! I'd recommend the Snob review Pin if he hasn't already; it's got the guy who played Locke from LOST in.
1:30 A Canadian slasher flick? Did Brandon Trenold review this one already, as part of Canuxploitation Month? 2:43 Or they each plotted to take revenge on EACH OTHER's enemies for what they did years earlier, and that get the obvious "Strangers on a Train" reference over with. 6:40 Oh snap, you got his autograph! For Polar Express? Not as Mandark from "Dexter's Lab"? 8:51 Ah, Horror Express. One of those "Hammer Horror" films not really produced by Hammer. I still have that on DVD. WWO this movie had some terrible lighting! I couldn't see who the killer was, even with his mask off!
