2000 a month is crazy

Hey Vinny, I got the Drive Whip Model 3 mainly because of your recommendation. I'm in your market, South Florida and my numbers are almost identical to yours. I think the Model Y is costing you an extra $400/month without any significant benefits. If you can charge at home you'll also reduce your charging cost in half. I've been doing ride-share for two years, getting close to 10k rides with Teslas, first one was a Model Y I owned, then owned a Model 3 and now renting to no longer have headaches. You are so wrong. I won't bother showing you my 1 month data. I lost $2400 revenue by renting due to lost rides (battery, XL), and 28 hours charging time (@$35 hour). I had to increase driving time from 20 hours to 45 hours week just to net my 20 hour historical non rental.

Hey man. I am actually looking into buying a long range Model Y right now. Payment is $700 a month for 72 months with $1k down.

I’m renting a Polestar 2 through Lyft with Hertz. My payment is 479/wk. They say insurance is part of the rental payment but they are taking our 45-50% off the top for a ‘commercial insurance policy. Does this happen with Uber as well? I’m barely profiting anything. Have you heard of Lyft doing this to their drivers? It’s terrible!

Another added cost you didn't factor in is loss of earning while charging - at 40 minutes to 1 hour - from driving to nearby charging station to end of charging. And one more fact - rental drivers are paid 10 to 20% less per trip than non rental drivers.

I did the rental thing for about a month and a half just to see if a Tesla would be good for me and just went out and bought one like 7 months ago so I haven't done anything at all to it it's a 2018 I have all the service records and nothing has went wrong with it at all it's had one tire change

If you buy the car - you eventually pay it off and your car payment goes into your pocket - you can then use that tesla for years. Renting is an expensive option for peace of mind

In Florida you can get unlimited off peak charging for $31 a month (fpl evolution) if you have a covered area to install it and then you could buy a model 3 dual motor with the bigger battery for about $700 a month, this combo will save you about $1700 a month from the $2400 a month you're currently spending on your lease and supercharging. Are you in S. Florida and how many hours a week are you on the apps to make ~1300 a week?

The part of calling whip is not that true I been trying to get them to fix my tires and other issues and they don’t give an answer or a solution just to take a picture and they will talk to their technician so the negatives with whip is their follow up and maintenance process I been having issues trying to solve them and not knowing if they give u another car that will be available

But the numbers get concerning if you’re a full time driver. Charging everyday adds up. The rental place should allow you to charge it yourself instead of racking up charges on your account. if you have your own home charger, charging is free. And you can do Uber through Hertz.

Hey Vinny. Great video. But I think there may be a flaw in your argument about the taxes. No of course, I’m no expert. With that said, I believe that even though the Tesla is still a huge business expense, if you aren’t paying taxes throughout the year on your remaining income, you will still owe money to the IRS in April. Like I said, I’m no expert, so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. I wouldn’t mind an extra $540 either. 😅

In Los Angeles, if you rent Teslas thru hertz you can only drive for Uber. Lyft doesn't offer Tesla.

Paying 499 a week is where your mistake is why dont you just buy tesla at the dealership with like 10 or 15k down ull end up paying 5-6hundo a month just like im about to do

You are not going to get most of your rental money back thru taxes. 500 a week times 50 weeks is $25k. You are barely netting $24k a year. I bought a Toyota Avalon Hybrid. 38 mpg in luxury and a Toyota Sienna Hybrid also 37 mpg both with 500 mile range. In my opinion these 2 vehicles are the best for transporting 1 to 7 people. Very low maintenance and will give you 300k miles with little to no issues. Teslas are the most crashed car on the planet right now. Just sayin! Good job on the spread sheet. Yes I do this on the private side and do very well.

How can I turn things around doing this? Im already paying $500/mth for my car with like a year left. And $115/mth for Insurance. With this program I'd basically be paying double that monthly if not tripple. Not only that I get burnt out easy these days to be driving for 499/wk jus for the car. How and where would I be able to sharpen my strategies to come at this?
