This video should have 30k views from EVERY DRIVER out there either renting or buying. People need to share this one on social media outlets. It's an amazing breakdown of the business. The fact that you rented a Tesla and did this in your market is proof of profitability levels with the rides being offered. Damn good video!!!

You completed 40 rides and decided to share data. I drove 17 rides yesterday in my tundra for Uber after a full day of plumbing. Get out there and drive so you can make some real money. Use a full week of work data. I drove 126 rides and earned $1322 last week driving for Uber 55 hours after my normal job. You’re not going to make money being lazy like you stated you were. Tesla, Chevy, whatever car, you’re just not driving enough if this is what you do.

If you rent the Tesla from Hertz make sure you do get the full coverage that goes for about $70 per week so you can have a peace of mind. Only Rent a Tesla if you are going all in full time, I have talked to people that make between $8k to 10K per month minus the rental and if you talk about the rental only that comes to $2K per month.. just the rental Charging is just like gas on your car, you will spend close to 50% and yes you will have to stop to charge but keep in mind you do need breaks after driving X amount of hours. Let’s say you drive for about 200 miles and you take a 45 minute break while your car charges, walk or find a charger close to a gym or have your lunch break and stretch… Stack some money and buy an electric or hybrid that gets you close to 50MPG

I rented a Tesla through hurts and I found out what they were doing was there were taking my money every week and putting it back into my bank account every week until the end of the month and mysteriously I owe them $3,000 and I was like okay that's how it makes it look like you're making a lot of money because you're putting the money you just took for me back in my bank account. So I did some calculating on my own and I realize that my 2016 Lincoln Town Car was eating 1,100 to $1,600 a month in gasoline so I just went and bought myself a Tesla Model 3 use 2019 for $32,000 and my gas money for the month is divided between the insurance and the payment. And because I brought an Eevee onto the lift platform they're giving me $8,100 for the rest of the year if I do 50 rides a week I do that anyway so it's better if you buy your own Tesla But it used

I agree Rush hour trips and reservations during that time are a trash. I see a pattern now a days where long distance trips are not paid well. You spend 45 mins on a nice conversing ride with the rider and at the end see peanuts with no tips. I understand the rider side who paid a lot for the trip and don't want to tip but the culprit is Uber. I am talking about uber x though as my car is only eligible for x. Their deals create forceful gravity towards sucking you into their black hole.

Awesome break down Vinny. Honestly I purchased my Tesla recently and im loving it. Something that I would like to point out is, did you know only standard model 3 after 2021 have new LFP batteries? These can be charged to 100% and are expected to withstand heat much better. That means you can supercharge multiple times a day and not worry much about the battery being damaged or degradation if any at all. LFPs are expected to last 500k miles. I also wanted to go for the model Y but if you consider that the model Y has 330 estimated range but you only charge to 80% ( as its recommended to maintain best battery life), you would only get around 265ish miles per charge ( which is less than the 270 for the standard range). And not to say the model Y does not qualify for XL, if it did, I would've certainly gone for it as it would be the best car hands down for rideshare. Considering all of the above, I find a new tesla model 3 2023 the best option to go down this path. You're using the car strictly for business so might as well get the cheapest one, which happens to have the most efficient and long lasting battery and qualifies for all tiers except XL. Unless of course, you want the model Y because of cosmetics or extra space preference but business-wise, I dont think its better than an LFP model 3. Would love to hear your take on this and looking forward to seeing you make this money.
@VinnyKuzz
@VinnyKuzz Год назад
Congrats on the Tesla!! I'm aware of the new LFP batts and the charging cycles as well as the extended batt life/miles but TBH the model 3 was tight for me as a driver. I'm not a big guy or overweight by a long shot but I am a little older (LOL) and enjoy my comfort. Also, having XL is huge in this game, the more platforms the better utility the car becomes as long as the owner can afford the car without the apps, I've always said this. For me, its about the extra room and utility. I didn't know the new batt's were only in the Model 3, that's something I have to look into. I'm convinced that the Tesla is the right way to go for sure, above all other vehicles. It offers drivers the best expense to earnings ratio right now especially with charging/maintenance costs. Thx Boss!!! Let's get this money!!

I am renting a model three, and as long as I can drive I can make damn good money my basic problem is motivation, if you can charge the car at home you can save Buku money I try to only charge overnight at $.22-$.24 a kilowatt hour, The car I find is very tight for me also, sitting on a pillow has helped, too much luggage is also a problem from the airport And I did find out you can squeeze five people Into it plus yourself

In my area, I just can't do it as there are too many uncouth riders with body oders, baebae kids, drug dealer persona, and exstensive cursing on the phone and etc. I can't deal with that. Thank you so much. I am a electrician by trade. But,down here in Saint Petersburg Florida. I make 25% less. I just bought a 2023 Tesla Model 3 Performance. Instead of taking unemployment I plan on doing Uber/Lyft rideshare. My payment for the new Tesla is a lot cheaper than renting one. So after watching another video from UberTesla driver that supercharged twice a day for a year. He killed his High Voltage battery pack for a $8,000 fix at over 100,000 miles in a year. I've owned my M3P for two months and have 5,600miles on it now. So, if you buy a Tesla Model 3. Limit your super charging and your work day to a home charging for Uber/Lyft driving
@supergeek0177
@supergeek0177 2 месяца назад
I reckon that guy who was supercharging probably charged to 100% twice a day... that will nuke any non Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) based battery very quickly, so always check your specific models battery chemistry. If it is a Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminum (NCA), Nickel-Cobalt-Magnesium (NCM) based battery then don't regularly charge it past 80% more than twice a week, in order to maximize it's lifecycle.

Thanks for the breakdown. You said you can't beat the fuel efficiency of an EV but let's do the math a bit. You drove 940 miles and spent $78 on charging. A hybrid car (Camry for example) with a 45mpg would need 940/45=20gallons of gas. Where I live gas is has been $3.19/gallon and I've been paying $2.89/gallon after discount. 3.19x20=$64 but much faster since charging costs you time too. Tesla might be less convenient especially for people who don't have an at-home charging, especially someone like me who rents an apartment. But again, thanks for the breakdown. I think renting is not worth it even if you were driving 80hrs a week because you are still leaving money on the table and we drivers cannot afford that in the long run.

Teslas are overrated for Uber - Just buy a Camry Hybrid. Also you Need to find a Better Fishing Area to pick up your Fares, even if you have to travel 30mins+ to get to it. In my Fishing Area, the Most of my Fares are around the $10 mark, just over or just under, but I can do 5 to 7 and hour and I generally travel only 1 to 4 mins to pick up my next fare. I do around 20hrs a week and if I was to only get $600+ for those hours and then minus all of my Expenses, part time work Flipping Burgers might be better for me, atm, still doing Uber and not thinking about Flipping Burgers.

If I rented a Tesla, I am sure that my weekly payments would be like I’m paying for a car payment again. It would be high enough that it would also include that car payment plus gas. I rather keep my fully paid Corolla that I only do part time driving for Uber. If I rented, I would have to slave away just to make the weekly payments. NO THANKS.

Trying to figure out if it's worth it to buy a X car or a X/COMFORT car ? And since I'm in the LA market. Also you said the LA drivers said that was CHEAP to charge the TESLA compared to our area? I turned down ALOT of X requests compared to comfort as my plan was to try and get the $1 per mile payouts so X to comfort requests ratio was probably 6 to 1. My rule of thumb if you are going to purchase a vehicle is to buy what you can afford without driving for the apps and then maximize whatever it qualifies for. Chasing the better ride types doesn't always work because the market becomes oversaturated with higher tier drivers which reduced the overall amount of requests to drivers so they get stuck and eventually drop down in tiers to make any kind of money. Drivers here are finding that out now in my market, Suburbans doings comfort and even X smh. Think it through. @Unbrokendriver and @WeXoom have both said my charging rated are cheap compared to Cali.

Consider using term “Deadhead Miles” & “Deadhead Time”. Used by trucking industry, who do pay Deadhead Miles. This is exact same situation in Uber or Lyft. Lack of a good term prevents awareness. Future strikes should ask for Deadhead miles, which is highly justified. Old time taxi’s did not charge Deadhead; but, made up for it with high fares for higher driver pay.

All valid points except for the milage efficiency as I did it again, cuts my overall hours and wasted miles significantly down and made more money with the Tesla. With being said, ANY car used for ANY GIG app is going to have the same result of burning the vehicle up early and quickly, you will destroy its value and longevity. So 2 ways of looking at it, I feel, 1. it's just a tool and should be treated as such and 2. never buy a vehicle you can't afford without driving these gig apps. Bonus would be pay that car off as quickly as possible to get the payment out of the way.

Depends on why you drive I think. IF you are full time, this is your primary income then you are probably accepting 90% of rides sent to you. If you are PT then those drivers are more selective. Either way, if your know what it costs you to drive, your number dictates what you are willing to drive for. To say drivers hurt other drivers is a bit unfair because we don't know their situations but the apps know that drivers will accept trash rides because they need the money.
