Tesla FSD Robotaxi Test. The good, the bad, and the ugly!

I took my Telsa Model Y with Full Self Driving Supervised version 12.3.3 for a test as a robotaxi airport shuttle. The drive was a total of 335 km (210 miles) and lasted for 4.5 hours!
It started in the dark with snow, had rain, fog, daylight and clear weather. Check out the highlights from this trip!

5:50 The Bad section begins 8:22 The Ugly section begins A great video, with lots of examples. FSD remains a buggy Level 2 assistant, with lots of issues on the road. Full Autonomy is a long ways off.

@@AnotherNerdyCanuck I hope Level 5 autonomy comes soon. I would love to nap in the back of the car while it drives 100's of miles to my destination. But when you look at the current state of v12 FSD beta software, I fear that Level 5 is a *LONG* ways off.

@@DerekDavis213did you imagine chatgpt 3.0 comes to reality so quickly? Before that everyone knows how stupid Siri and Alexa is.... But the AI can suddenly speak natural language to you like a real person... Never underestimate technology evolution. It's never linear speed... But historic experience told us almost ALL people consider stuff linearly...

Absolutely. Waiting to see how FSD 12 handles Toronto downtown traffic in winter with snow piled up on the sides, streetcars, poor line markings, inevitably a cyclist or 2 and jaywalkers. If this is handled like becks taxi driver, FSD is solved!

different transition effect i haven't seen before. good to see the auto driving improving. does it use lidar or just optic cameras?

FSD has to be 99.99 percent capable, for Full Autonomy. That is a *LOT* of edge cases.

@@DerekDavis213I thought this version did quite well, lots of the things he mentioned are not bad at all, not perfect driving behavior or need some tweak. The giving up on bad condition is point on, but I’m sure Tesla knows how important continues function to true FSD

@@user-bk4xq8pp6p FSD has been in beta testing for almost *four* *years* , and still lots of problems. Lots of human help is still needed. Every day. The road ahead is a long one.

FSD isn't FSD! I just drove 300 miles with 12.3.4. It's incredible supervised driver assist software, but it isn't Full Sell Driving. IMO, there has to be the ability to intervene.
