Wanted to find out how long my Tesla Model Y would last in cold temperatures if I was stranded on a snowy road. This was inspired by the article that suggested that more electric vehicles (EVs) could have made the I95 Virginia traffic jam much worse.
I tried to perform a reasonable simulation of being on the road when stranded (started with 66% battery) to see how long I could "survive" and how that compares to a gas powered (ICE) vehicle.
I maintained the climate control by using "Camp Mode" on the Tesla. Also appreciated that I would have access to Netflix and RU-vid as a way to pass the time.
