Based on averaging the dB readings at the end, I'm seeing less than 3dB noise reduction, not 6. About to get this done to my car. I'm a sound engineer and music producer. Will report back with rigorous data. Really hoping for six rather than three. 🤓🤞🏼

Doesn't really answer many questions about how to get the interior out, only how to lay the mats down.. ugh I guess I'll have to hope it's the same as with the Y.

It is not compatible with Model Y's, but if we see enough interest, we will consider releasing a Model Y kit in the future!

@@SoundSkins there would be more interest on the Model Y Platform than Model 3. Model Y owners are complaining and looking for solutions now in NA. sound proofing model y is very common in China

So all I have to do is take the entire car apart and put a sound dampening material on it then completely reassemble the car. Sounds like something that would have been easier for the factory to do during production. 😂

Hey Aaron these kits cover the floors, trunk, and rear deck. We did not create pieces for the doors because Tesla doors are complicated to take apart even for professional installers.

@@GlitchComputer Yes, removing the plastic door panel to put our speaker rings on your speakers and Wavy Foam in the door panel is easy. It is the disassembly of the rest of the door that gets more complicated.

We did not offer pieces for the doors because taking the doors apart for a Tesla is pretty tricky, even for pro installers. We'd recommend just putting a layer of our wavy foam inside the plastic door panel for the Tesla.

@SoundSkins It seems the doors allow alot of noise to enter in my M3 so the doors need dampening.

Before and after decibels? I doubt it makes any difference.

The results are at the end of the video, 17:35 It was around a 5-7 dB difference, which is a 30-40% reduction in perceived sound to human ears.

I have done similar mod /similar materials/ on my car's floor and there's huge noise reduction if you're picky about noise.

And then the Tesla owner starts asking different Tesla groups about battery degradation. Because his "suddenly" lost 10% :) This stuff is several decades on the market. And people still do not study the topic and keep putting so many unnecessary weight with zero sound deadening effect. I think every new generation learns it from the scratch.
