I collected our Model Y LR in Australia two days ago and am very pleased with the fit and finish of the car. We get our cars from the Shanghai factory. I was also very relieved to see that cars from Shanghai still have the ultrasonic sensors. The detail shop that did ceramic coating said the paint quality was very good, up with the best they see.
Congratulations on passing 1000 subcribers and closing in on 1200. Can't wait to follow the channel growth closely. Great content. Great media quality!
Hi folks. I think the parking sensor problem is down to no sensors on the bumper/fenders. The cameras cannot see low objects close up. The software has to recognise a lot more than just other vehicles. That can be done, it's common with drone object avoidance technology.
Thanks for your video. I know I would not depend on Parking assist in my new 2023 Tesla Y LR vehicle which I just purchased yesterday. Especially with the only front camera has to go over the front hood. Anything below hood level will not be detected the closer you get to it.
It's not even going below the hood (bonnet), try placing a wheelie bin in front of it. Sometimes nothing, just didn't see it, or fences. Utterly rubbish when the wiggly lines come over the front of the car and it finally figures out "stop".
My Y Performance finally arrived and it is from Berlin and was surprised by the good quality of construction. Thankfully the horror stories did not materialize. Will you have the chance to review the Performance model and compare it with the Long Range?
"Earlier" is more or less 2022 Model year or earlier. In the VIN number digit 10 indicates the model year. 2023 is "P". 2022 is "N" and 2021 is "M". This car was produced in Q2 2023.
Bought my MYLR with HW4 last month, built in Fremont, CA. Absolutely no build defects... Tesla leadership must have had a "come to Jesus" meeting with all the factories and got everything right. Love the car and it is a joy to drive. Gas prices are rising in the US right now and I don't care! lol
I think Tesla has really hit their stride as far as fit & finish, and suspension for the Model Y this year. It's a huge improvement over the MYs from past years.
The consumption depends very mich on the circumstances you are driving this car. My Model Y LR consumes about 18,5 kWh/100km for 9000KM with a lot of German Autobahn driving and about 17,5 in the summer months on average....
Indeed. In Switzerland we have max 120 km/h speed limit, but we have many mountains. The comparison with Audi Q4 and Mustang Mach-E shows that Tesla is much more efficient.
@@GaboTX Tesla is pretty inaccurate about this. ADAC says 420l with rear seats up and tonneau cover in place. Plus 105l below the floor and 80l in the front frunk. In any case Model Y offers excellent space. See also my other video comparing Model Y with Mach-E and Q4
Thanks for this video! Tesla Vision does indeed not work and, as you rightly say, probably will never work, despite efforts to improve the software. There are just blind spots only USS can deal with, also in the dark or bad weather. Let us hope ultrasonic sensors will come back!
Not defending the stupid decision to remove USS but vision can work, so long as the camera can see the object as you approach it should be able to map out and predict distances to high accuracy.. at least in theory.
@@mamba101 Yep, I looked in the camera view in service mode and it seems that the front camera view doesn't even see the end of the bonnet which isn't going to help. Parking it myself isn't the issue, it's the lack of summon even being available to move it forwards or backwards or out a parking spot that may be useful one day? Summon not being available at present, out for the past year. How long is "soon" we wonder?
I love my 2022 Model Y AWD, and I also liked my 2019 Model 3 LR AWD, but this constant shedding of features may keep me from getting a Tesla as my next EV. I like the Tesla’s as they are so high-tech and state of the art, and because they have frequent software updates. Taking the front facing radar off in my Model Y was a big step down from my Model 3, and to this day it is still a step down, with slower maximum Autopilot speed, farther minimum following distance, and much less accurate speed matching. My Model Y still has the parking sensors, and I cannot imagine the cameras ever being as accurate. Both of my cars had essentially useless auto-parking functionality, which is so bad that it is a joke. You can’t keep dropping these kinds of features that any other even moderately-priced vehicle has and pretend to be a cutting-edge high tech car. This all just smells of annoying cost cutting in a premium vehicle.
Agree. Tesla will surely react swiftly, at least I hope so. I own an Audi Q4 e-tron but would probably choose a model Y if I were shopping now. The Q4 is however excellent in many ways but Tesla improves much faster and is much less expensive
@@morten_hannesbo I’d be curious to hear how you like the Audi Q4. I always like the look and size of the VW ID.4, but the incredibly poor software support for that car and bugs leaving people stranded have me steering far away from it. But I wonder if Audi’s support of the Q4 is better. (E.g. the VW ID.4 had major major bugs in the car’s software, yet for one year they literally had not a single update available. This is one area where Tesla blows away the competition - despite there always being some level of bugs, they are always actively updating the software…)
@@bsd107 The Q4 is very different from ID.4 despite being produced in the same factory. The software is very reliable but not playful like Tesla's software. See my video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4550Ih1mY8A.html
I ordered new model y, waiting for delivery. I havent tested many cars. Just when I sit inside the dealer and try multimedia system, for me its enough. How is it possible in 2023 to make so laggy or oldschool systems…
There is no report of any power increase in US. I just bought my MY LR, June build with HW 4 cameras. Still supposed to be 380ish hp. I believe Performance model is 410ish hp. The LR is plenty quick given the instant torque!
