Is this spoiler , for all practical purposes, identical to the Official Performance spoiler? I have a Model 3 performance without the PUP and I'd like to Add the spoiler and the Red line under my Dual motor badge.
Jon Rogers yes, pretty much. All the chrome on the outside is covered in satin black, as well as the new spoiler. I am going to do a walk around video of my car soon. 👍
Jon Rogers I have not done anything else to the car so far. I am waiting on the Forged Performance Wheels (from the referral program) and once I see how those looks, I’ll be doing some other changes. 👍
RPM Tesla is the least professional and least reliable company I’ve ever dealt with. This guy is likely a “plant” - his cringeworthy shout-out near the end is everything you need to know... Regardless, I’d very much recommend you look for an alternative to RPM Tesla for your aftermarket needs. And The suggestion that their products fit better then Tesla’s OEM equipment is plain blasphemy - so ridiculous.
Steel Flex I am no “plant”, I paid for my spoiler just like everyone else. I have no benefit in making this video other than just to give people my opinion on the spoiler. I owned a Performance Model and was one of the first to have the OEM spoiler installed on my P3D, so I know exactly what I am talking about in regards to the comparison. But think whatever you want. 👍
Marc- thanks for the video bro. I was debating which version to get from RPM and was waiting to see more pics of the performance. With you video it sold me. Reached out to Mark at RPM and had it shipped out yesterday. It was one of the last ones in his first production run. Keep up the great video updates of your ride.
Still love the spoiler! It does not help rain stay off the back up camera. Not sure on the wrap because RPM wrapped it for me for free (I did pay for the spoiler though). It would be very cheap to wrap it though.
It varies on what part of the country you are in. But for a good chrome delete, you should be about $700-$800 and that includes them disassembling the mirrors to wrap them (the proper way).
Thanks Marc! One quick question... where did you get your Tesla text emblem for the back of the car? I noticed that you had also replaced the T emblem on your black 3 as well. I love the look! Keep up the great work with the videos.
@marc - Hows' the RPM spoiler holding up after 60+ days? I"ve got one on order and seeing some of the aftermarket spoilers that hold flush on the corners.
Marc, thanks for the video. Quick question. I’m about to get a spoiler and am going to wrap it in 3M Satin Black 2080 vinyl. Have you had any issues at all with the wrap on yours? I want the spoiler to match the chrome delete I did. Thanks so much for your input.
Ian Corner sold my performance to buy this SR Model. So I’ve had plenty of smiles to last a liftetime. And even the SR is no slouch. Like Elon said “Tesla doesn’t make slow cars”. 🤘
@@marc_benton I totally agree but it just makes me think of all those 3 series BMs kitted out to look like an m3 - if ya like the m3 buy one - if you want the model 3 performance look, buy it. I think the way your SR looks is perfect as it is. Nice work BTW
I saw this video when you first posted it but was wondering now that I want to buy one have you actually seen any range improvements as claimed by some companies
Anna G the spoiler looks EXACTLY like the OEM Performance Model 3 spoiler. But yes, RPM sells other spoilers. I had a “Blade” on my first red Model 3 and you can see it in some of my videos from last year.
Does the standard range model include autopilot features? Tesla said they are including it in all their cars but not clear if that includes standard range since it's not sold online. Would like a video on showing which autopilot features are included. Thank you!
kunalmj I did not buy AP for my Standard Range Model 3 but I can’t tell you that it includes keeping in the lane with traffic aware cruise control. What it does NOT include is Summon or Navigate on Autopilot or any new features that come out for FSD. Summon and Nav on AP are now a part of FSD (but are included in EAP, which is no longer available). It’s kinda confusing.
@@marc_benton thank you for the response. I think the summon is cool but just a gimmick. I would like the lane keeping and the adaptive cruise control as that is becoming pretty standard in even Hondas and Toyotas. So I guess basically that's AP which Tesla does charge for too. It's included as part of Standard Range Plus. I don't need FSD.
Zack J when my service ranger installed the Performance spoiler on my black P3D, he taped the ends down just like I did. Whether it’s necessary or not, who knows. I only left the tape on over night and mine is fine.
Rishi Rao Mark, the owner of RPM, wrapped it for me at my request. I thought they would offer them wrapped but it seems they decided otherwise. You could get any wrap shop to wrap it though.
Marc Benton thanks for the super quick reply. Unfortunately they’re back ordered a couple months. Curious if Tesla has started selling their OEM spoiler
Rishi Rao ahhhh, that stinks. I don’t think Tesla has started selling them yet but I’ve seen people buy them on eBay and so forth, but they are expensive.
Racerlinck Saget well yes, you “should” have it removed before putting on the spoiler but on my black P3D, I had paint correction and ceramic and I did not have it removed before having the OEM Tesla spoiler installed and it hasn’t budged. Personally, I wouldn’t have it removed but some feel different and I understand why.
Marc Benton true. most of my friends have the AWD LR which feels great when accelerated, i cant imagine the performance. i entered a giveaway for one though
The Tesla stock Performance spoiler isn't held on much better, it just had two strips of adhesive tape on top and bottom versus the one like this one. But so far, it seems to be holding well and the fit is as good or better than the Tesla one I had on my P3D.
@@marc_benton hmm OK. It just doesn't look like that's the case at all. The OEM has the strip at the top and bottom, which makes sense that it would create a seal. But this one having just the one, and on the back (inside corner)....that worries me. I just can't seem to fathom not creating air pockets. I think I'd want to add an extra strip of double sided tape or something.
@@marc_benton really? It looked pretty flush last time i saw one up close. Thanks for the info. I ordered my RPM one like 2 weeks ago, so hopefully my doubts will be squashed when I get it. 👍
It’s Bev not Belle and since you deleted my comment I can’t read your reply. That’s ok. The fact that you removed it speaks volumes. It looked like it was a RUDE! 😡 reply anyway. Enjoy your P3D wannabe.
I have no idea what you are talking about, I haven't deleted any comments. In fact, I have never deleted ONE comment on ANY of my videos. Are you just making stuff up now Belle "Bev" DeVoe? lol
Teslatunity , Michael , have you seen the power trunk lift system being sold by Tesla Offer? A little pricey but it brings the model 3 up to S & X feature level.
