Good analysis. However the X is wider so when you put kids in the car and go on a road trip, they have more room ( 5 seater). So in my opinion, the X wins
Ok wait, so Tesla installed the rear heated seat hardware but seemingly couldn’t work out the programming? But you got an over the air update and that makes it…better? Maybe just have the whole car work day of purchase?
Great video comparison Marc and I agree up to a point. But here in 2024 I'm in the opposite position. I have a leased 2021 Model Y that is coming off lease in 2 months. I could lease another 2024 Y for $250/month less but I elected to buy a used 2018 Model X from Tesla instead. I got the Model X 100D with MCU 2 and every other option available including 6 seats and upgraded sound system/wheels for $38K. It has 48K miles but is in excellent condition and carries a 1 year 10K mile new vehicle warranty. Thats an over $100K vehicle with warranty for $38K and it has the $6K Enhanced Autopilot for road trips. I know there are some issues with the X and I, as I tend to do, have thoroughly researched this and feel that the X is well worth the price I'm payin. Because of it's relatively uniqueness and features I believe it will have good resale value in the future. With all the Model Y's in the world, and with the current low prices they may be difficult to sell down the road. I intend to get a Cybertruck (12/03/2019 reservation) when they come back to earth price wise and get some of the bugs worked out but the Model X will be great for transporting up to 6 people comfortably which is something the Model Y simply can't do. The six seater is the sweet spot on the X with the 7 seater a close second. They are also as rare as hens teeth and that makes them more valuable. That said, the Model Y is the best car I've ever owned and I say that coming from a 2018 Range Rover Tesla makes great vehicles and for people like me who have level 2 home charging, solar with batteries and the Supercharger network for road tripping Tesla is the only BEV option ... period. Thanks again for your video and I hope the Y worked out for you and your family. It's a great car.
I, like many, don't like where you have to look on the Tesla screen. The Bolt has both a sharp side screen and a lovely one directly in front of the steering wheel.
Guess what. In an endurance run with EVs up to $20,000 more than the 2023 Bolt. The Bolt beat EVERYONE!!!! The big difference here. All but the Bolt have AWD. That system uses more fuel than the Bolt front-wheel drive. Also, there is what is called regen (of energy). The Bolt has a superior one.
I have a 2018 Bolt and I love it! I also drove the 3 when looking. I did not like the Tesla’s one pedal drive system as much. Chevy had the braking of the one pedal drive much closer to how I would break a IC car. I also much preferred the Bolts interface. I got in and was immediately able to drive it and use its systems as it’s laid out and functions like a normal car. I feel like if you like Android phones you’ll probably like the Tesla and if you like Apple, then the Bolt is for you.
I have no interest listening to anyone that starts a video "What's up guys". It's so unprofessional. How about just saying "Hello", and then telling the audience what the speaker intends to cover. read some basic Dale Carnegie. Tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them, and then tell them what you told them. Please. I switched off at 1.56.
I recently took off the carseat protector on my model Y, it left dots/stains all over the seat. Any idea if I can use the same chemicals/substance to remove the stains?
Guys remember that this video shows a 5 seater model x which is quite similar to the 5 seater model y. A huge reason to get the model x is the 6 seater option as it is much more spacious than the 5 seater and not cramped like the 7 seater.
Both are bunk both don’t fit tight and if it did the carpet metal and lid of trunk would act as insulation. If it were nothing but molded styrofoam with a lid it would work better than any and more space. It would sell like out cakes. These makers are idiots
Nice Honest Video! I LOVE my “Model X”, but totally understand why you’d get a “Model Y”. I prefer the look of the Model X PLUS “The Falcon Doors” are just super cool! 😅
I would be extremely cautious about using any type of degreaser on these seats. The manufacture, as well as most detailers and owners use warm water and a microfiber cloth. It works perfectly, and will never dry out the vegan leather. I like your videos my friend, but I would NEVER put degreaser or any other chemical on my white tesla seats.
Non-Porous? lol the seats are perferated. Also, Degreaser, depending on the type, can dry out the seats. Theres simply no reason to use something so harsh. I have a 2023 Model-X with White interroir. I also have two young kids yet all I do is wipe them down (the seats, not the kids) with mild soap and water with a microfiber and they stay brilliant white. @@gregsullivan7408
